Prologue: Throne under the moon

In the middle of the cold night of October 31, 1931. In a mysterious room with only one circular window. There was a chair that was hit by moonlight from behind the window. The chair was high and had a picture of a bear with red eyes. On the chair lay the body of a woman who was unresponsive. The wand fell from her weak arm, leaving a clinking sound that echoed throughout the room.

At the same time, in the dark Woolymoon Forest, a man was running through the forest while being chased by several people. They were wearing thick clothing and carrying whist hounds, dogs with tall legs. They searched the forest while carrying torches that shone brightly.

they then realized that the man had now entered the bridge

A 328-foot-long Vaccarust Rock towers over a cliff. Her robes flutter above the bridge tiles, her hair swept back. She holds a small baby wrapped in a yellow blanket.

A psychic immediately used his whistle while pointing to the left. A loud sound from the whistle emerged, and the whist hounds immediately ran towards the bridge.

"He's there!" shouted another.

"Stop, this is for your own good!" they shouted loudly.

The man stared at the end of the bridge where there was a glass gazebo with a large Ferris wheel on top. Even though he was running fast, he tried to keep the baby in his lap asleep.

The wish hounds were getting closer from where he was running, the dogs barking loudly. Several spells also flew through the air, narrowly missing his side.

"Explaridux!" they shouted.

The spell shot out in a white light, luckily he immediately jumped before the spell hit him.

"Ictiorosus!" shouted the other pursuers, sending up a sharp blue spark.

"Lingmuscus Vastator!" A light formed a green furry tail that appeared at the end of the wand and was used as a whip.

Gofrey then turned around, then pointed his stick sharply at the bridge in front of him.

"Revertutis!" shouted the man carrying the baby to protect himself by reflecting his opponent's attack.

He then immediately uttered tremotus ruina, which then made the rocks of the bridge in front of him tremble and then began to collapse, the wisht hounds tried to reach the part that was still intact before it finally collapsed too.

The man then continued running towards the gazebo, where a wish hound had managed to hang from the bridge. The monster then climbed the bridge and continued chasing the man.

The monster then jumped and made her fall right in front of the gazebo, she also managed to protect the baby from hitting the ground. When the monster was about to pounce on her, their psychic shouted to stop, leaving silence in the air.

The man then noticed the shards of glass scattered around him. Meanwhile, the baby, only a few months old, began to cry in his lap. The monster then stared at the baby with an inexplicable gaze.

"Oh, Beverly..." he muttered, "They won't stop chasing you... you have to go home," he continued breathlessly.

He then took a sharp piece of glass nearby and then frantically carved a B-shaped letter on the brick, he sped up his writing when the monster started to pull its leg away from the baby, the man tried to block the wish hounds.

"Damn!" he shouted as he continued to carve the stone tiles to make the letters clearer.

The pursuers then repaired the broken rocks on the bridge, they immediately walked across the bridge to wait until the wisht hounds managed to draw Gofrey away.

"You don't know what you've done..." one of his pursuers said quietly.

"You can't stop something that's destined to happen," added another.

"no..." the man replied in a whisper, "not all of them, you're wrong."

The man then stopped writing and immediately looked at the baby in his lap.

"someone has said Ligare artem, right in front of you," he said frailly.

"I want you to remember, Beverly," he continued softly.

a psychic then whistled, the wisht hounds that had bitten his leg earlier then pulled him away from the baby, the people then grabbed gofrey and tied him with rope. while the baby who was crushed in the middle of the chaos then moved restlessly beside the letter B that was clearly visible on the stone tiles.

Shortly afterwards, the Wisht Hounds was hit by a powerful shot that instantly knocked it to the ground.

"Who... who is that!" they shouted nervously.

"They are the guards!" replied the other.

"Raise your wands!" shouted the other wizards, each with a longer wand and dressed in white and black. A flag with symbols resembling letters and geometric lines in the shape of diamonds and triangles also flew among the group.

The entire army of magicians then surrounded the pursuers while raising their long staffs, then leaning their bodies. They all lined up to form a fence.

"Drop your weapons!" they shouted threateningly.

All the people who were chasing Gofrey raised their hands.

After a long time, the baby was lifted by the guards, his eyes reflected the shadow of the moon in the sky and became a witness to the tragedy that night.

Chapter 1: Why Did He Have to Go?

Years later. It was 8:30 PM on the evening of May 2, 1942, in Hutton Cranswick. In the pitch-black village of wartime darkness, a single house still had a faint glow in its windows. Inside, an 11-year-old girl lived with her father. She had shoulder-length, faded blonde hair. She wore two orange and navy blue hair clips holding her bangs back from her eyes.

Her father, John, sat beside her, reading the Alice in Wonderland novel she had heard every night. But today was a little different than usual, as his thoughts wandered to his memories, making him miss the people he knew in the city.

"Dad, what do you think about the condition of our neighbors in town, are they safe?" Sarah glanced at her father even though the question was sudden.

John then stopped his story and looked at Sarah, she had a small mouth while her hair was combed back but still a little messy. The coat he was wearing was also stained from the soot from the fireplace, they only lived together and rarely anyone wanted to clean their fireplace because the villagers were busy with their own affairs.

"I think they'll be fine, honey," John sighed, half his face looking at Sarah.

"Come on, don't think about them, okay?"

Sarah pushed the blanket away hard, then sat on her bed, her face becoming more serious.

"Why do you keep saying that, dad!" his breath started to get heavy.

"I've already lost them, and now I'm being told not to think about it," he said, feeling quite disappointed with his father.

"What I mean is... we need to focus more on ourselves," John said, looking at Sarah intently. "We can't keep thinking about others while we ourselves are in danger," John continued.

"I don't care anymore Dad," Sarah said hugging his legs, "I just want my friends again... and a beautiful birthday celebration," she complained.

"But you have Daddy, honey, and this fairy tale he's reading you," said John, trying to cheer Sarah up.

Sarah just kept quiet without answering, suddenly the atmosphere in the room became quiet with the oil lamp spinning quietly on the ceiling.

John then sighed and turned his head with a sad face.

"Okay, do you want me to stop telling you?" he muttered softly.

"Don't," Sarah turned her head, "I accidentally lost focus and was still wondering if the seven would really be beheaded," said Sarah who was rubbing her eyes.

“That's what happens if they don't finish the painting, honey,” John said with a half-joking smile.

John rubbed the book he was holding slowly, dust starting to fly from his arm.

The book shows a figure of a girl in a red dress and a beautiful frame, her hair is blonde and longer than Sarah's hair which only reaches her shoulders.

"I will continue the story... when Alice has met the gardeners," he whispered with a faint smile towards Sarah.

A smile formed on Sarah's sweet face, a sign that she had just forgotten the terrible tragedy she had experienced.

He had a pretty bad experience after the incident that forced many children to leave town.

"Great, I want to listen until I fall asleep!" he said, happily.

John turned the pages of the book and then began to tell the story.

“What’s the point?” said the first one to speak among them.

“That’s none of your business, Two!” Seven interrupted with a lowered eyebrow.

“That’s his business!” Lima said defensively, “and I’ll tell him it’s because he brought tulip bulbs for the cook, not onions.”

Seven slammed down his brush, and just as he was about to say, “Oh my, of all the injustices—” his gaze fell on Alice, who was standing there watching them, and he abruptly stopped. The others turned as well, and they all bowed low to the girl before them.

“Will you tell me,” said Alice nervously, “why you painted the roses?” she continued.

Five and Seven said nothing, but looked at Two who was standing beside them.

Half an hour later, after listening to the story, Sarah fell asleep soundly, the blanket covering her entire body. John then closed his book slowly and quickly got out of bed.

The lights in their room were turned off, filling the room with darkness. John sat in the living room, contemplating, staring at a pendant.

"You've fought to protect her, but I still don't want her going anywhere," John said, looking down.

John suddenly heard a vibrating sound in the air, and he looked up at the ceiling for a moment. Then, high above, several planes roared ominously, their voices slowly fading into the sky. Silence returned. John closed his eyes and shook his head slowly.

After the sun appeared on the horizon, the dark village now faintly showed its physical form, namely several buildings arranged in a row and having similar roofs, namely a light brown color.

Sarah knelt by the empty aquarium, fiddling with the radio as if searching for something. John, sitting in the living room with his newspaper, turned to look at her.

"What are you looking for, dear?" he asked, curious.

"I'm looking for Mrs. Ranya, where is she?!" Sarah asked in surprise, while continuing to turn the radio knob.

Ranya's mother is a woman who always appears on the radio every morning and tells children's stories to viewers.

"Maybe something has happened to him... you just wait, maybe he will come back," said Sarah's father while turning the page of the newspaper.

"But until when, Dad..." Sarah asked after standing up and turning towards her father.

"I don't know, why don't you just play with Bremen and Bruth?" said John,

Sarah then dropped her shoulders, "Are you serious, Dad? They're just socks..."

*I heard a noise in the sky...

a light came and suddenly the building exploded...*

The radio was still on near them, delivering heartbreaking news.

Sarah went up to the second floor and locked her room. At the same time, the doorbell rang outside. John threw his newspaper on the table and stood up to head for the door. When it opened, a man with a mustache as wide as his mouth, a white hat, and a fake smile appeared.

John recognized the man, but he immediately closed the door to avoid being disturbed by the man. Before the man could force his way in and prevent John from closing the door.

"Oh my God, John! Please don't do this..." Nicholas complained.

"Mr. Nicholas, I have told you many times in letters that I do not want to be involved anymore," John said bluntly.

"Unfortunately John... We need you to increase the troops heading towards El Alamein" said Nicholas Albert with a serious look.

"What do they need, they don't even care about my story," asked John in confusion,

"Wait, this isn't about that weird story about your son you sent 11 years ago, England really needs us, John," Nicholas said seriously.

"Gosh, why are you defending England more than your own friends?" asked John.

"Because I trust you... you are a friend who does splendid work," said Nicholas.

John then turned and walked towards his living room, Nicholas followed behind him.

"I might have been able to be a technician and help you before, but look at the situation now," John sighed. "I have a daughter to protect, Mr. Nicholas," he continued.

"I think you should just hire a nanny, John. There's a charity that employs them in York," Nicholas said.

"Does that mean I have to give up Sarah?" John asked sarcastically.

Meanwhile, Sarah listened to them from behind the wall, with her green sock still on her arm.

"A nanny!" Sarah whispered, surprised.

Sarah then imagined a nanny with short hair, who liked to sing and take the children on a tour of the peaceful city.

"As long as you work with us, your daughter is safe with her nanny," Nicholas said with a big smile.

"Mr. Nicholas, a nanny won't be able to protect my daughter, in the end she will leave without me knowing," John said in a soft voice.

"Aren't you overreacting?" Nicholas asked in a whisper.

John then clenched his fist and placed it near his stomach, "But I will still contact the nanny, and inform someone I know if something happens. I'm coming with you, Mr. Nicholas," John said firmly.

"Good, John, that's what I want from you," Nicholas replied, his expression instantly changing to a wide smile.

"I don't promise," said John spontaneously.

The man then immediately raised his hat in greeting and left John's house.

"Remember, I'll be waiting for you at Cranwell base tomorrow," he said from behind the door, "after that come with us to Tangmere base," he continued.

John then closed the door hesitantly, then quickly walked to the landline telephone that was next to the flower vase. Sarah approached her father anxiously.

"Are you really going to hire a nanny?" he asked in surprise.

"Yes, so you can be safe at home," John replied.

"But it feels like... Dad has given me to someone else," Sarah said with a sad expression on her face.

"Honey, I did it because I was following your mother's advice," John sighed and smiled. "Remember, never run away from a problem, no matter what," he said, maintaining his smile.

"I hate problems, but unfortunately, Mother's message seems to ask me to face them," Sarah replied, confessing to her father.

"You can handle it honey, as long as you stay strong..." John said trying to comfort Sarah.

Sarah then hugged her father tightly, hugging him for a long time.

"I want Dad to promise to come home, otherwise I will hate you..." Sarah said firmly.

"Are you serious?" John asked as he returned his daughter's hug.

"I'm serious this time!" Sarah said, bluffing. A faint smile appeared on her face.

"Don't worry, honey, Daddy will definitely come home, and that's when we can tell stories again," he said calmly, as he let go of Sarah's hug.

Sarah finally let her father call a nanny, her heart filled with worry, she was afraid of becoming a poor girl.

But his curiosity also grew, he thought about what would happen next, whether a nanny who liked to sing would come, or even a figure who would remind him of his mother.

"Hi operator, please connect me with Praesens Child charity Holgate Road, York, thank you," John said to the operator.

The next day, the nanny called by Sarah's father arrived at the door. The woman then rang the doorbell several times, causing a loud noise.

Sarah immediately opened the door of her house and saw a woman in an all-black coat, while her round cheeks blended with her wavy hair and bangs that blended on her forehead, but she had a right ear that was cut off, leaving only one ear.

The appearance was very different from any nanny Sarah had ever imagined or seen. "Wow... You're completely beyond my expectations," she murmured, her eyebrows raised.

"Hi, Miss Beverley," the woman said, using Sarah's last name.

John followed Maggie to the door, then greeted her and invited her inside. Maggie took off her heavy shoes and stepped inside.

"First, your job is to look after Sarah, wash her clothes, cook, and finally take care of the house," John said explaining each task to Maggie.

"If you want to sleep, just use our restroom," John said again.

After walking around the halls of the house a few times, and talking about boring rules, Sarah interrupted.

His father said it bluntly.

"And also, you have to be willing to play with me!" Sarah said loudly.

Maggie Haversham looked at Sarah with a strange expression, and an irritated tone:

"What, no way! My job is not to be your friend," Maggie said shortly, one eye widening.

"Why... Isn't the purpose of a nanny to be a friend?" Sarah asked in surprise.

"That will only happen when the world is safe," Maggie said.

"You two are enough! The important thing is that you do your job properly, and remain loyal to protect Sarah."

Maggie and Sarah fell silent after John's firm words. They then looked at each other with grim expressions.

Eventually, Maggie started working at Sarah's house, doing normal activities like washing and drying clothes.

However, Sarah noticed strange behavior toward the woman. Maggie would always make short, frail grumbles while working.

Her attitude made Sarah afraid and anxious, she had asked twice to replace Maggie with another nanny, but her father refused, he believed that Maggie was not what Sarah thought.

In her room, Sarah put on the two socks she had named Bremen and Bruth to talk about Maggie. Sarah began playing with the socks, making their respective voices.

Bremen then rose together with Bruth. Bruth was green, while Bremen was brown.

"Hey, I just went swimming in Loch Ness!" Bruth said happily.

"Hey, you can't do that without Dad's company. You'll drown," Bremen said, trying to advise Bruth.

"What's wrong, I just want to swim," said Bruth.

"I agree with Bruth, we should swim more often," Sarah said teasingly.

"But you made a mess, you became Nessie," Bremen said angrily.

"Instead of you, you're a Boggart!" Bruth shouted back.

"Hey, I don't want to talk about Nessie, let alone Boggart," Sarah said irritably.

"I want to talk about Maggie, she's a nanny at my house..." Sarah muttered in a low voice.

"Is she a fun woman, and does she like to sing?" Bruth asked curiously.

"Not at all, he's completely beyond my imagination, but the scary thing," Sarah sighed, "is when he grumbles to himself!" she shouted with widened eyes.

"That must have been terrifying," Bremen said. Bruth was also shocked and couldn't believe it.

"he doesn't want to play with me either,"

Sarah whispered again.

The two shirts then lowered their heads, saying nothing. Finally, Sarah took them off and placed them on her mother's Phoenix-style decorative pillow. Sarah then said goodbye to Bremen and Bruth.

"See you, Bremen and Bruth..." Sarah smiled gently.

Later that afternoon, the time came for her father to go to the military base. Sarah went with her father in a taxi to go to the base which was not far from the station in Lincoln City.

In the black taxi, Sarah sat with her father in the back, while in front was the driver and Maggie who accompanied them.

Sarah remained silent in the taxi, she didn't say anything, John glanced at her once.

"Darling?" he asked.

"I don't want to talk right now," Sarah said with a sharp glance.

The taxi traveled along the winding roads in the Wellingore hills. Sarah looked out the window again and saw the vast fields stretching far beyond the edge of the hill.

Sarah began to lean out the window until she saw something unusual in the middle of the pasture. She saw the apparition of a woman floating in the air with her broom, her legs slightly outstretched.

A tornado of white smoke then appeared and spun beneath the woman, causing her body to disappear into the mist.

It was a sight that made Sarah's eyes widen in disbelief, but she didn't have time to stare long as the taxi continued on its way to the RAF base at Cranwell. Sarah then stopped to stare out the window, still gripped by disbelief.

Whether the woman was a witch like in Elbrama Loumney's story, or just a magician performing a miraculous act, he was amazed and eager to tell his father.

"Dad! I saw a witch!" Sarah shouted.

"Really, where?" asked John curiously.

Sarah pointed to the window.

"The witch just appeared with green fire outside!" he said in a high tone.

Maggie quickly leaned over and looked at Sarah.

"Is that true, Miss Beverly? I can't wait to see the witch too." He said in a long voice.

Sarah turned away and crossed her arms, her face sullen.

"No way... just be my friend first, Maggie!" he said half annoyed.

"Okay, whatever!" said Maggie, stepping back again.

The taxi was almost near the base, Sarah then saw a squadron of planes landing on the airstrip, their loud noises piercing the air.

Sarah's eyes stared at the three large planes that were slowly circling away from them. The three planes were Airspeed Oxfords with two propellers that were noisier than the others.

The two then got out of the taxi, John asking Maggie and the taxi driver to wait while he wanted to speak with Sarah alone. They then looked at each other near the gate, with John starting to bend down and put his hand on his daughter's shoulder.

"Honey, I'm sorry Dad disappointed you," John said softly, his eyebrows lowered.

"I'm definitely disappointed, Dad..." Sarah said firmly, her gaze sharp, "I want my friends, school, and birthday back, Dad. But why is it so hard?" she complained, Sarah looking down in desperation.

John looked back at Sarah, he smiled faintly and reminded her of his wife's message,

"Remember your mother's message to us, dear."

John sighed,

"That message is what makes us still strong until now, you have to believe..." he said while releasing his grip.

John held out a locket to give to Sarah. In the center of the locket was a photograph of a woman with dark hair and a bright dress. She had flat eyebrows that arched at the ends, and even though the photo was black and white, Sarah recognized her as her mother.

"This is Mother's Pendant, why did Father give it to me?" Sarah asked in disbelief.

"This is to keep our promise, when Dad comes back then Dad will take it back..." he muttered softly.

Sarah smiled bitterly, she then took the pendant and put it on herself, John then stepped back and smiled satisfied looking at Sarah, Sarah then smiled too with a smile that widened even more.

John then turned and stepped into the base, while Sarah still stood in front of him to say a simple word, namely,

"Goodbye, Dad," Sarah said quietly, almost crying. "I hope you'll come back again," she continued.

Inside the base, John walked towards dozens of De Havilland Tiger Moth planes, the size of the planes was bigger than John's body. He smelled the smell of aircraft fuel coming from the chimney.

"ace!" shouted the workers.

Meanwhile the crew continued to work quickly around the aircraft, some carrying trolleys filled with vises, hammers and other tools.

"John, I'm glad you came here," Nicholas said in greeting.

Several people with pointed hats then approached John and gave him a warm greeting.

"halo john,"

"Welcome back, John," they greeted.

John was then approached by a young man with sharp eyes, wearing a commander's hat.

"Hello Mr. John, I heard you used to work for the RAF... so why did you come back?" the young man said calmly, "Let me introduce myself, I'm Arthur Barclay, I'm the new commander in the RAF," he continued.

"I'm glad someone younger than me is the commander, although I don't know why Nicholas asked this old man," said John half-jokingly.

Nicholas laughed a little, then turned around and swung his arms in the air.

"But look around you John, young people are going to war for their country." said Nicholas, he smiled broadly.

"Then what is my job?" asked John, lowering his eyebrows sharply.

The young man then showed a black and white photo showing the Sussex mainland.

"You will be conducting a reconnaissance mission using Mr. Sidney Cotton's plane," he said calmly.

After half an hour, the planes in the hangar began to depart, gallantly forming a formation and then taking off into the sky. Sarah watched from the taxi window and watched the sun's rays reflect off the planes.

3 hours later, Sarah and Maggie were sitting in another taxi that they took after getting off the station in York City. The taxi had now arrived in front of Sarah's yard, which was quite green, with flowers growing around her house.

After getting out of the taxi, Maggie immediately looked at Sarah who was standing beside her with a serious expression, her lips tightly pressed together and her eyes round.

"So you must respect me, Miss, and never make my job difficult or I will punish you," Maggie said, her hoarse voice hardening.

"I don't know why I should respect you?" Sarah said in surprise, crossing her arms close to her chest.

"Because I'm a woman de-" Maggie held her mouth and quickly continued, "I mean as an older woman,"

Sarah noticed Maggie's strange way of speaking, which made Sarah curious, "You mean a grown woman? Why is it so hard for you to say it?"

"I didn't mean to say anything wrong, I'm an old woman," Maggie grumbled.

"No, you were having trouble saying the word adult earlier," Sarah started to feel strange.

"If you ever bring that up again, I'll really punish you!" Maggie said firmly. "It's obvious I'm an old woman," she continued stubbornly.

"No, you are a grown woman," Sarah replied.

Maggie walked into the house, pushing the door hard, making a loud noise.

Sarah raised an eyebrow. She was truly surprised by Maggie's behavior, especially since she was completely different from the typical nanny. Even compared to the comedic actresses in Hollywood, Maggie seemed like a fierce woman from a bad family.

Maggie entered the house and continued her unfinished homework. She walked to the kitchen and resumed cooking. Maggie took potatoes from her edelweiss-patterned sack and began to cut them neatly. Sarah then came over and peeked at Maggie's activities in the kitchen.

"The cut is so precise, how did you do that?" asked Sarah, who was watching Maggie's work.

"I was taught to cook at the Norland Institution," Maggie said quietly and softly.

"So how's life there? Is it fun?" Sarah asked curiously.

"It was really fun," Maggie shouted, "They taught me how to get a new life," she continued with a blank stare.

"I myself can only watch grown women cook... you look like Cinderella to me," Sarah said in praise.

"Does Cinderella look that much like me?" Maggie asked in a high-pitched voice.

"Yes, because Cinderella loves to cook... keep cooking, Miss Haversham," Sarah said nervously.

The atmosphere then fell silent, and Sarah immediately left the kitchen and climbed the stairs to her bedroom. She locked the door from the inside. This habit had developed since she moved to Hutton Cranswick Village with her father.

Usually Sarah spends time in her room writing experiences in a diary, or reading fairy tales that her father collects in her room.

There, Sarah took her diary that she kept right under her pillow, and started writing about Maggie, the nanny she thought was unique.

Chapter 2: Who is the rabbit?

In her room, Sarah started writing in her diary about Maggie, while leaving the door locked.

"Maggie wasn't as good at talking or as friendly as Mrs. Ranya, so I was scared when I first saw her," Sarah wrote in her book.

After finishing, Sarah closed the book and tucked it back under her pillow. A moment later, Sarah glanced at the decorative pillow on top of her dresser. On it sat her two toy socks, which she had named Bruth and Bremen.

Sarah has had these two imaginary socks since she attended St. Peter's Preparatory School on the outskirts of town. Her two friends, Sticky and Hayley, also have their own toy socks.

"Bruth... Bremen... I'll make you guys come back!" he said happily as he put the socks back on his hands.

"Hi Sarah," said the two socks, which were actually Sarah's own voice.

"Are you going to believe what I saw earlier?" Sarah asked enthusiastically. The two socks stared at each other.

"When I was in the taxi I saw outside there was a witch riding a broomstick!" Sarah bit her lip, "and underneath her there were flames spinning like a hurricane..." she continued.

"Do you guys believe that?" asked Sarah.

"Yes I believe... That's interesting Sarah!" said Bremen.

"Tchhh, you believe it because we are mythical creatures, right!" Bruth shouted skeptically.

"Is it already in the diary?" Bremen asked curiously.

"Of course, I wrote it all down!" Sarah said happily.

"It's possible that witches really exist, as Elbrama wrote, about witches who watch over humans from Snowdonia," he continued with a curious face.

Sarah then jumped onto her bed and stared at the faded yellow and white ceiling of her room, while her feet stepped in the air.

"Why can I see witches? Am I a witch too?" Sarah asked thoughtfully, then looked at Bremen and Bruth. But she couldn't play with the two dolls because she herself didn't have the answer.

Sarah dropped her hands and sighed loudly.

"If I were a real wizard, maybe I could fly on a broom, then use a magic wand, then say Abracadabra!" he said happily.

Sarah got up and ran around the room, "I'll be able to go around and explore everywhere!" she said happily.

Sarah then guessed, "Maybe we'll meet a monster or make friends with a little bird."

Sarah then opened her house window and shouted playfully in a loud voice,

"I will live a miracle!"

Maggie, who heard Sarah's loud scream, then looked up after hearing Sarah's scream from the second floor.

Sarah released Bruth and Bremen from her arms and ran out of the room. She left the house with a regular broom and went to explore the entire village.

While walking along the streets of the settlement, children with labeled necklaces were seen being unloaded from a Commer truck.

Sarah then approached out of curiosity, "What are you doing, out of danger, son?" asked the RASC officer, who was standing proudly guarding the truck.

"I just want to get to the river," Sarah said reassuringly.

"Are you sure? Not because you're looking for a crashed plane?" the officer asked teasingly.

"No, sir, but have you ever seen a witch? My friend from the girl guide, Alice Saunders, would be surprised," Sarah said with an honest face.

"No," he replied, holding back laughter.

"Okay, excuse me," Sarah said with a respectful smile.

Sarah moved away from the truck and crossed the railroad tracks. Arriving at the edge of a small river, Sarah spent some time playing there.

While walking along a new wall along the riverbank, Sarah suddenly tripped, her body immediately hitting the river water with force.

Sarah's head emerged from the river water, "Awwwh, damn!" she screamed.

Luckily the water in the small river was not strong and he was able to get out safely.

"I hope Maggie isn't mad at me," Sarah said hopefully.

Sarah immediately returned home in her wet clothes; her body shivered with cold, while her feet made a funny creaking sound because they were wet. Sarah entered the house with her clothes still wet and her broom soiled with mud.

"Oh my gosh, what are you doing?!" Maggie asked, shocked to see Sarah.

"I'm just being a witch..." Sarah muttered softly.

"Do you know how much trouble you're causing me!" he said angrily.

"I'm sorry," Sarah said, looking down gloomily, "Miss Haversham... can I help you as an apology?" Sarah asked nervously.

"No need, quickly clean up and get dressed," Maggie said briefly.

Sarah looked sullen; her mouth was tight.

"You know, you won't be the greatest nanny if you don't try to change..." he said as he walked away.

Sarah went to the bathroom and washed half of her muddy body. After showering, Sarah changed into fresh clothes and spent some time playing in her room.

Sarah then pondered while looking at Bruth which was attached haphazardly to her left arm, still imagining Maggie's attitude earlier.

"Bruth, he immediately told me to clean myself, and didn't want me to help him," Sarah complained, holding the pendant from her father on her right arm.

"Her attitude makes me wonder, do caregivers all over the world have this attitude?" Sarah asked curiously.

"Just as I thought, she's not a good nanny, Sarah," Bruth commented.

Sarah then turned around and looked at Bruth seriously, "However, I think Maggie can change for the better, like Mom."

"I'm not sure, you've never even seen your mother," Bruth said firmly.

"Yes, I never even saw my own mother when I was 2 years old, it felt... empty," Sarah whispered in a low voice, her gaze looking sad.

"But, if I want Maggie to get better then I have to believe her, and give her help," Sarah said firmly, her eyes shining.

"You have a good choice..." Bruth said in a flat tone.

"Of course, because my father is intelligent, and I am exactly like him," Sarah said confidently.

Then, in the small, quiet room, Maggie was seen sitting thoughtfully on the bed. She then picked up one of her suitcases and began to carefully open it.

Inside the suitcase, two photographs were visible, displayed on the panel. One photo had fallen out of the suitcase. Maggie deftly grabbed it and secured it with a brass clasp to prevent it from falling again.

It can be seen from the photo that Maggie just posted that shows a girl with dark eyes, her gaze is very sharp and she is wearing a brightly colored scarf in the black and white photo.

Maggie smiled with relief after successfully putting the photo back together.

"Eliza, I- I'm going to look for that magic, my friend, I'm going to look for it," he said without blinking.

Inside Maggie's suitcase, there was a stack of newspapers from the Telegraph, clearly labeled Rowan Bellamy as the author of the article. Above it was a triangular symbol that almost resembled an animal, with a crescent-shaped horn on the left leg.

Sarah then walked slowly and stopped in front of Maggie's bedroom door. Sarah then knocked carefully to call Maggie. Maggie slowly closed her suitcase and got up to open the door.

Maggie saw Sarah standing in front of the door, Maggie noticed Sarah's clothes were now clean, Sarah stood nervously.

"What's wrong, Miss Beverley?" Maggie asked, her voice wobbly. "But look, you're cleaner now," she continued.

"Miss Haversham, how about we learn how to trust me," Sarah said nervously.

Maggie held her chin and started to think, "Wait, why do I have to learn that?" Maggie asked in confusion.

"You know what my father told me about my mother," Sarah said quietly.

"Father said that Mother always trusted him, and Father trusted him too. So, can I trust you, Miss Haversham?" Sarah asked nervously, her eyes sparkling.

Maggie then thought for a long time, then she rubbed her chin then looked at Sarah seriously.

"Do you think I don't believe you?" Maggie asked, confused.

"after a few times... you're hard," sarah replied nervously.

"Okay Miss Beverley, I'll try," he said briefly, Maggie then snorted.

"Okay, let's go to the kitchen to learn how to make roast beef," Sarah said in a long voice.

Maggie readily agreed, and Sarah invited her into the kitchen. Sarah walked happily and glanced at Maggie, a sweet smile plastered on her face.

"Uncle Frederick always brings meat sauce to my house, try it, it's delicious," Sarah said proudly on the way.

"Really, does it taste as good as you think?" Maggie asked.

"Yes! Alice even the sauce is 100," said Sarah smiling.

They both went to the kitchen. Maggie then prepared to cook by taking a piece of meat from the kitchen drawer, then she immediately lit the charcoal stove with a matchstick.

Sarah then took the cheese from the drawer. It came from a large farm called BeBe Ranch in Yorkshire. Sarah deftly handed it to Maggie, who was seasoning the meat.

"So is this going to make me feel better?" Maggie asked curiously.

"Of course, you're probably better now," Sarah said with a sweet smile.

Sarah then took an apple from the table and bit into it, making a small popping sound. The fragrant aroma of the meat spread throughout the kitchen. Maggie quickly lifted the cooked meat onto a plate and slathered it with meat sauce and cheese.

"Wait, there must be a lot of sauce on my plate," Sarah said jokingly.

"Just so you know, I was once scolded by my dorm leader for putting too much nutmeg on my plate," Maggie said irritably.

"Really, why?" asked Sarah curiously,

Sarah just stared at Maggie silently, she just found out that Maggie could be scolded just for giving too much nutmeg.

"Of course, because it's not healthy for children," Maggie said weakly.

Sarah grabbed the grilled meat that Maggie had cooked and ate it slowly. Sarah carefully put the meat into her mouth and the strong taste of cheese appeared and filled her mouth.

"Not bad... delicious," said Sarah in praise.

That night, Sarah entered her room, followed by Maggie. Maggie entered the room, put the water in the drawer, and then left without doing anything.

"Really, no fairy tales for me, or kisses?" Sarah asked coquettishly.

Maggie then turned and looked at Sarah, "No, I haven't been kissed like that since I was 12," Maggie said in a sharp tone.

Maggie closed Sarah's bedroom door slowly, and the sound of her footsteps faded away. Sarah lowered her eyebrows and walked steadily. She turned off the oil lamp in her room and fell asleep soundly, without the usual bedtime stories.

During her dream, Sarah saw a bright blue-eyed rabbit hopping closer and closer. The rabbit then asked Sarah a question, as she stood silently by the fountain.

"Are you alone?" asked the rabbit.

"No," Sarah answered briefly, she was confused but also curious about how the rabbit could be in front of her.

"Who accompanies you at home?" asked the rabbit seriously.

"I was accompanied by Maggie, she became my nanny after dad left," Sarah answered nervously.

The rabbit tensed and moved closer to Sarah, his voice low.

"You should leave first before she finds out.... Maggie is a dangerous woman," said the rabbit anxiously.

Sarah then lowered her eyebrows, she became confused, "Wait, why did you say that?" Sarah asked seriously.

"You'll know Sarah... look at the suitcase he keeps in his room, unless he has thrown away the evidence of his wrongdoing... What is certain is that you can escape by going through your wardrobe after turning the Phoenix emblem, but... without magic the wardrobe can only be penetrated when you are in danger..." the rabbit whispered.

The blue-eyed rabbit then slowly disappeared, swallowed up by the cold mist that pierced Sarah's body.

Sarah woke up slowly from her sleep then got up and thought for a moment, she felt like she had dreamed about rabbits before too but she didn't know when.

Sarah slowly glanced at her wardrobe, wondering what would happen if she actually turned the emblem. The emblem resembled a phoenix spinning clockwise, its feathers as red as embers. Sarah hadn't recognized the bird before her father told her about it.

Sarah walked slowly towards her wardrobe, filled with curiosity, "I wonder what would happen if I turned it around now..." she muttered.

Then, on a whim, Sarah raised her hand and nervously spun the Phoenix emblem on her dresser. After the emblem stopped, Sarah took a nervous step back. She immediately ran into her dresser and hit it hard, "Oww!" she screamed.

Sarah immediately held her head and walked away staggering.

"Gosh... why isn't it working!" he complained.

Sarah stood up in pain, rubbing her sore forehead. Resignedly, she left her room to look for Maggie. "Maggie?" she called, but Maggie didn't answer.

"Is it true that Maggie is a dangerous woman?" Sarah asked, her brows furrowed tensely.

"Maggie?" Sarah called again.

Sarah walked out of her room, Maggie's voice still couldn't be heard even though she had called her many times.

Sarah then found the door to Maggie's room still open, because she was curious, Sarah tried to go in and look around, the room inside the small room looked quiet with a pile of Maggie's suitcases.

Sarah approached one of the red suitcases and touched it carefully. After opening it, Sarah examined its contents.

"Whose photo is this?" Sarah asked curiously. Sarah noticed three photos displayed on the suitcase panel.

Then Sarah picked up the newspaper and read it carefully. The paper looked worn and dusty, like a 10-year-old newspaper.

"The head owner of the orphanage, Miss Angelina Charmen, has sued Margaret O'Neill, a 19-year-old girl, for alleged defamation. The girl's statement has been spread in many London newspapers and has made people skeptical about some orphanages. But is it true that Miss Angelina's orphanage is one of the orphanages that committed the crime?"

Sarah continued reading with tension, "October 18, 1910, Margaret managed to escape while being taken to the Royal Courts of Justice. The girl jumped out of the truck and immediately ran away after muttering a few times about Roxa. Margaret's case was never continued."

"Margaret made a statement that caused several orphanages to protest," said Sarah, transfixed by the article in the newspaper.

"But who is Margaret, is that Maggie..." he asked fearfully.

Then from outside, there were slow footsteps walking towards the room where Sarah was now. The footsteps were heavy and silent. Sarah turned around and saw Maggie had entered the room with a terrible face and a cynical smile.

"Miss Beverly! What are you doing with the newspaper in my suitcase!" Maggie asked.

he shouted loudly, his voice startling sarah.

Sarah immediately stood up and looked at Maggie in fear, "I was curious about your suitcase because... someone called you evil," Sarah said nervously.

Maggie then walked over to Sarah holding a letter opener in her right hand to make a threat.

"Besides, that letter cutter won't scare me," Sarah said quietly.

"I'm not mean, Miss Beverley, especially to you," Maggie said with wide eyes, then she continued speaking in a serious tone,

"You've seen it before, magic, something I'm looking for, the world of magic!"

"Why are you looking for her?" Sarah asked, her eyes wide as she stared at Maggie.

Maggie then tilted her head and smiled faintly.

"Because I once met a miracle, that miracle asked me to approach you..." Maggie said softly.

"Why?" Sarah asked tensely.

"because you hid it miss beverley!" said maggie loudly.

"I'm not hiding anything! Really!" Sarah replied in a loud voice.

Maggie continued her words in a soft whisper, "Please don't be afraid of me, Miss Beverley... let me discover the magical world,"

Sarah's gaze widened, trying to find an opening, "I don't know what happened to you, I won't say anything!" she shouted, Sarah immediately ran with heavy steps past Maggie.

"Aaahh, Miss Beverley!" Maggie screamed, Maggie immediately turned to chase Sarah.

Sarah left the room and ran quickly towards her room. "Aaaaah!" she screamed loudly. She immediately went into her room and locked the door.

his chest was shaking irregularly, while his breath was gasping.

"What should I do?" asked Sarah in panic.

Maggie banged on her bedroom door loudly, "You can't hide, Miss Beverley!" Maggie shouted.

Sarah was silent in her room, seeing the door being banged on loudly, Sarah then turned towards her wardrobe and hoped that the wardrobe could really help her this time, a spark of magic appeared on the emblem which immediately surprised Sarah.

"The emblem!" Sarah shouted in panic.

When the door opened, Sarah immediately ran in fear trying to open her closet, believing that the closet would definitely help her. Sarah's bedroom door opened.

"Where are you going!" Maggie shouted loudly.

Maggie, who had entered the room, immediately chased after Sarah, trying to grab her collar.

Sarah then opened the cupboard, which immediately revealed a large underground hole. Maggie's arm had already grabbed her collar from behind, making Sarah stop.

"Is this hocus pocus!" Maggie shouted in panic. "I won't let you fall!"

"I don't know!" Sarah shouted.

Sarah then jumped until her collar was pulled hard. Maggie, who was still holding Sarah's collar, then staggered and fell down the hole. In the darkness, Sarah also fell down, causing Maggie to lose her balance and finally fall into the closet. They both fell quickly who knows where. Sarah and Maggie both screamed in panic.

Maggie's grip on Sarah's collar was now released and she fell faster than Sarah, Maggie immediately screamed weakly calling Sarah's name loudly, "Miss Beverley!... I thought-" she shouted, Maggie disappeared into the darkness.

Chapter 3: Taken to magic school

Sarah then woke up on the soft sand of the cave, covered by Maggie's apron, which covered her body up to her shoulders. She felt no pain at all, as if the fall had been a dream. Sarah then removed the apron.

"Where am I?" asked Sarah in confusion.

"I can't see...Maggie?" he called.

Sarah then rose from the ground, holding her sore hand. Instantly, the cold from the cave pierced her body, as if trying to repel her. Sarah felt a sense of fear. Then, suddenly, at the end of the cave, a bright blue light appeared, illuminating the passage and slowly approaching Sarah.

Then a boonie bigger than a rabbit appeared in the cave passage, the boonie had long, straight ears that reached her calves and the fur inside her ears was long like a mane, her eyes were steel blue just like the rabbit in Sarah's dream. The boonie also wore a thick green woolen cloak and carried a blue lantern that lit up the cave with light.

"Mr. Rabbit?" Sarah called curiously.

The boonie then smiled at Sarah, "In majisca creatures like me are called boonies, and just call me, Ash," said the boonie kindly.

"You're the rabbit that appeared in my dream, right?" Sarah asked nervously.

The boonie's ears dipped diagonally then rose again slowly, "Yes... that's right, I rushed to contact you telepathically after hearing that your father had left."

Sarah looked confused, "How did you know..." she asked curiously, the boonie didn't answer and instead turned around.

"Follow me, there's something I want to show you," Ash said seriously.

"But where's Maggie? She was chasing me," Sarah asked mumbling, lowering her head.

Previously, Maggie also fell into the cave. Her body fell onto the soft sand, then tried to get up from the ground.

"Ow, where am I..." he screamed after wincing in pain, "is this..."

She saw Sarah lying beside her. Maggie stared at her with wide eyes, and muttered a small word for Sarah before finally taking off her apron and leaving Sarah alone.

Maggie finally arrived at the cave entrance and looked around. The morning light blended beautifully with the hilly landscape below, making her forget her previous destination. Nightjars flew overhead, migrating.

"...nightjar!" he shouted with a sharp glare, "I'm here," he muttered.

"... my magical friend, I have arrived- I will look for you!" he shouted with a bitter smile, his eyes glistening with tears.

Maggie then dropped the letter opener she was carrying on the ground, she no longer cared about her problem.

Stunned, Maggie wandered off, while Ash quickly made his way into the cave. Afterward, Ash met Sarah.

"He first went around the magical world he was looking for. I don't understand why he was moved," said Ash in surprise.

"Can I go around the world too?" Sarah asked curiously.

Ash was a little surprised, "no-no-no, Sarah you should be heading to Brighford, not wandering around unfamiliar territory," he said in a high tone.

"Brighford? What place is that?" Sarah asked, walking calmly.

The boonie chuckled, "Haha, it's a northern border castle that was converted into a training ground for wizards, Or what is called: a wizard school,"

Sarah was surprised to hear that, she walked closer to the boonie curiously, forgetting about her previously sore hand.

"Really! Does that place really exist? Do wizards need a school?" he asked enthusiastically.

"Of course, you'll see for yourself later," said the boonie proudly.

Through the path and light provided by Ash, Sarah finally managed to get out of the cave and saw the sunlight again, Sarah saw Ash continue walking, and she hurriedly chased after him.

In the Jagonce Hills, two blonde-haired girls were seen descending the foothills, guided by a white boonie. The boonie extinguished the lantern on her stick and leisurely descended the rocks. Sarah, on the other hand, brushed her hair from her cheek, which was blown by the cool morning breeze.

"The castle is here," Ash shouted casually, Sarah immediately chasing after him.

The two of them then went down the rocky hill and entered the forest canopy, "Then, we will enter through the labyrinth," said Ash.

After that, they finally arrived at an old wall overgrown with tree roots with a green maze behind it, Ash then pushed the iron gate of the wall with Sarah's help, the sound of the iron gate creaked roughly.

"Is this the castle gate?" Sarah asked in a mumble.

"Yeah, one of the gates to be exact," Ash said.

The maze looked very high and filled with vines, Ash then gently took Sarah's hand and led her around the maze.

Sarah then found a tower standing in the center of the labyrinth, near the statue of the savior.

"There's a tower over there," Sarah said, pointing.

"Want to see the castle from the tower?" Ash asked with a smile.

Sarah immediately ran towards the tower and then stepped inside. There she immediately climbed the tower stairs one by one. Ash then hurriedly chased after her behind.

"Slowly, Son," said Ash.

Sarah finally arrived at the end of the tower, on top of the tower there were many tools and there were also three types of flags displayed on its pillars. One flag was dark red and showed a griffin holding an egg with its four legs, another was golden yellow showing a unicorn standing on a thorny bush, and the last one showed a mink coming out of the bushes.

Sarah then stepped forward to the tower's balcony and saw in the distance a majestic castle full of pointed peaks with flying buttresses and rectangular windows extending upwards. Also visible beside the castle was a circular building with polygonal walls, which appeared to be made of black wood. It was an amphitheater connected to the school castle by an elder bridge.

Sarah was captivated by the sight of the castle. Her eyes lit up, and Boonie followed her from behind and stood up to join her in the view.

"I didn't expect it, it's like a castle in a fairy tale," Sarah said in a low voice.

"So you wanted to show me this, huh?" Sarah asked in a whisper.

"No, more than that," said the frail boonie, her voice low, "You are a witch, Sarah, you were born into a line of witches in the past,"

"Wait...are you serious?" Sarah asked, her eyes wide.

The boonie chuckled again, "Yes, that's right, I even registered you at Brighford,"

"But why did you sign me up without me knowing?" Sarah asked in surprise.

Ash then took a deep breath and then dropped his ear until it faced the ground.

"You don't need to be angry, this is a mutual agreement with John," he said in a serious tone, the boonie then continued, "The contents of the agreement, when you live alone, then you can know about majisca..."

"Really, why did you guys make such a deal?" Sarah asked with a sigh.

Ash sighed, "I remember the purpose was to keep the magic a secret from you," Ash replied in a heavy tone.

Sarah pondered for a long moment, looking at Ash and his face. "Why did you keep it a secret, Dad?" she asked, confused.

"Because this world has cursed your mother... And I don't know where she is, John just wants to protect you from harm," Ash answered quietly.

"But... what if I face that danger, mom said not to run away from problems, right?" Sarah asked softly.

Ash raised his eyebrows and ears, he looked relieved.

"Yes, that's right! But remember one thing, Sarah... don't hesitate to look for answers," he said smiling.

"Okay, I'll do it," said Sarah weakly.

Then behind them a boy walked leisurely closer, he was wearing a short night blue robe with long black pants under a white tunic, and a black school vest.

The sound of footsteps made Ash shudder, and he perked up his ears again. Ash turned his head to see Jade Marley already under the ledge with a relaxed smile.

"What are you doing here Jade? The class bell will ring any minute," Ash asked irritably.

"Ah, moon demon. I'm just here for acrobatics practice," Jade replied casually.

Jade had slightly slanted eyes with thick eyebrows, while her cheeks were round as she smiled sarcastically at Ash.

"Moon demon is not my name! My name is Ash, how could Samuel's son forget?" Ash said annoyed.

"Sorry Mr. Boonie, the name Ash is too cool for you," Jade said with a laugh.

"Whatever," Ash said, throwing up his arms.

"So... who's that girl?" Jade asked, glancing at Sarah.

Sarah then stepped closer to Jade and introduced herself. "I'm Sarah Devon Beverley, a newly enrolled student at Brighford," she replied with a straight face.

"Okay, I'm Jade Marley, daughter of an acrobat," Jade said proudly, as if her father were very famous.

"Jade, would you mind escorting Sarah into Brighford?" Ash asked, looking at the two of them.

"Okay, when the bell rings," Jade replied with a genuine smile.

"Good," Ash praised shortly, "I'll go."

"Wait, where are you going?" Sarah asked, her gaze fixed on Ash.

"My job is done son, I have to go help my friend, torcall," Ash said in a weak voice.

"I'll only help you this far, next Sarah, try to fight on your own and make friends at this school," he continued with a sparkling gaze.

Sarah, who usually just turns on the radio in the morning without going to school like other children, also felt strange, because at first she still couldn't accept having to leave the city.

Ash then approached Sarah and touched both of her arms, he turned towards Sarah, "I trust you," he said softly.

"Thank you...Ash, for introducing this place," Sarah lowered her head with mixed feelings.

"Keep fighting, son," the boonie said with a smile. Ash then bowed again and walked down the tower stairs.

"Sarah, is this your first time seeing the world of Majisca?" Jade asked curiously.

"I guess so," Sarah replied sheepishly, "I first saw a witch flying with green flames, when I was in a taxi," Sarah sighed, "I'm pretty sure it wasn't my imagination."

"Did you really see that? Were you approached by a stranger?" Jade asked curiously.

"No, why?" Sarah asked back in surprise.

"Because those who came were definitely not ordinary strangers, they were Quaestor wizards who would erase your memories if you spread rumors about the wizarding world to others," Jade said in an exaggerated tone.

"So, was that a Quaestor I saw?" Sarah asked, her eyes widening.

"That could be it," Jade replied with a smile.

After a long time, the sound of the bell from the giant mechanical clock rang in the distance, Jade immediately rushed to the tower balcony.

"That's the sound of the clock, signaling that the first breakfast is over," Jade said enthusiastically.

"But how do I get through the maze area?" Sarah asked confused.

"Don't worry, look, I'll show you something," Jade said confidently.

Jade took her wand from her Columba-class robe pocket and pointed it at the vast maze. With the *movetur phantasia* spell, Jade made the entire maze move on its own, opening a shortcut straight ahead from the tower. Sarah was amazed.

"That was some amazing magic, how did you do that," Sarah said in amazement.

"With practice," Jade replied, "Now let's get back to school."

Jade immediately ran down the tower stairs, followed by Sarah behind her, they both exited the tower and ran quickly across the maze.

"Come on, hurry up," Jade shouted with a laugh, Sarah laughed back.

Sarah slowed down, stopping to look up at the castle again. She then turned around and looked around until, on the horizon, several witches appeared flying on their broomsticks toward the school, their broomsticks swaying slightly as they turned.

One of the witches was Dory Lannsoir, a second-year student with curly brown hair. Dory confidently flew towards the castle, then entered through the hollow frame on the castle roof, she slowed her broom until her body was pushed forward a little then she continued her flight by stepping on the castle roof as if she was running with her broomstick. Dory then jumped and tilted her body to the left past the tower in front of her.

"Good move, lannsoir!" shouted his friend.

"Yes, that's a perfect move," said another friend.

Dory smiled broadly, then turned and circled the castle several times, a spark of magic also appeared behind her like a burning ember.

After witnessing their performance, Sarah continued walking towards the school. In front of her stood a pool with a magnificent statue of Mercury. The school had two doors, each with an identical tympanum, directly in front of the pool and the statue.

In front of the southeast entrance, a professor was standing, watching the children still outside the school. He had wavy black hair tied in a single braid and a slightly pointed chin. He wore a white coat covered by a furry bolero. He glanced at Sarah and then smiled broadly.

"Look over there, it looks like there's a new student," he said in a long, spoiled voice.

Then all the students of Rosesmith House turned to look through the doorway. They were all wearing short, carmine-red robes with long white tunics and black vests. They watched curiously.

"Is she a new student, professor?" Nancy Jane asked in a low voice.

"Did he forget his uniform?" Vincent asked quickly.

"He must have been in a hurry to get to this school," said Professor Marcelli softly.

"Would you like to give him our typical welcome?" he said again, Professor Marcelli raised an eyebrow.

"Of course professor," Bruce Avaleaf replied happily.

"I want to, professor," shouted another child.

Instantly, all the students from the Rosesmith dormitory formed a line and took steps towards Sarah's right side, while walking they also shouted: "Crouch down, because you are charming!" several times.

"What is this?" asked Sarah, confused and amazed, "but this is amazing..."

"Are you a witch?" a student exclaimed amidst cheers.

"Be quiet and wait until it's over!" said another.

Sarah backed away in panic after being approached by all the children. The children who passed by her right then turned around, walking in the opposite direction on the left side. Once the line was even, they immediately faced each other and formed a passing line.

Professor Marcelli walked over and waited at the end of the long path, smiling kindly at Sarah. Sarah then stepped shyly toward the professor.

Professor Marcelli then raised his hand to head height, leaving his thumb open while his other two fingers stepped briefly in the air, "Hi darling, what's your name?" he asked coquettishly, his eyebrows raised high.

"Sarah Devon Beverley..." Sarah replied with a faint smile.

"Aah... Devon Beverley, are you Liliana's daughter!" said Professor Marcelli, his voice rising and falling in surprise.

"Yes, how did you know?" Sarah asked, confused. Sarah stared at the professor's smile.

"Did your mother pass on the name Devon to you?" Professor Marcelli said with a faint smile.

"Devon, huh?" Sarah asked weakly.

"My name is Olga Devon Marcelli, I remember how she was interested in the contents of the meridian clock," said the professor smiling.

"What's wrong with the name Devon?" Sarah asked, her eyes wide.

"Because that is the name of a witch character," answered Professor Marcelli briefly.

"Jaques Devon was an envoy from the council of magic to obtain mechanical machines from humans, diplomatically in 1762," said Lois, joining in.

"Thank you Lois. That's enough," said Professor Marcelli.

"So...is my mother a witch?" Sarah asked, her heart pounding.

"Yes...he is a wizard," replied Professor Marcelli kindly.

Sarah lowered her head, frozen in silence after hearing the professor's statement. Professor Marcelli then used an apparition spell, and suddenly a heavy jar appeared in front of her, the pottery was white, with intertwining tendrils of carmine red and midnight blue, on the right side of the pottery was a vertical glass that resembled a thermometer glass.

"Professor, what do you want to do?" Sarah asked curiously.

"Beverley, this is a holo-lop pottery, it can measure how deep your magical power is," Professor Marcelli said with a soft smile.

"Magic powers? Do I have that?" Sarah asked doubtfully.

"You never know unless you try, honey," Professor Marcelli said teasingly.

"Okay," Sarah answered quietly.

"but this pottery can sometimes go overboard with the appearance of biora, but don't worry, it usually goes away in a few moments," said the professor casually.

The professor then took the pottery and held it with both hands. He then walked slowly and then brought the pottery closer to Sarah.

"Now, try to touch the lid of the pottery with your palm," Professor Marcelli smiled kindly.

Sarah then slowly and hesitantly placed her hand on the lid of the dome-shaped pottery container, while under the lid there were three air ducts.

"How powerful will he be?" Bruce asked Vincent beside him. "Will he be one of us?" he continued.

"Maybe she'll be part sylphine!" Vincent guessed curiously.

Sarah was then surprised to see the pottery emitting smoke through its air duct and making a whistling sound like the sound of a train.

white particles then rose from behind the glass beside the pottery, rising until they reached the tips of the midnight blue tendrils.

"That's proof, proof that you're a witch, Beverley," Marcelli said, moved.

On the other hand, some of Rosesmith's students started whispering after seeing the grade the pottery was given.

"look at the level line, it only goes up to sylphine," shirley said.

"What the hell is that?" Lois Amber asked in a whisper.

"The professor praised him too much," Shirley lowered her eyebrows, behind her wide bangs.

"She might be the next Jennifer," Edith Rensley guessed, her round eyes staring curiously, though she didn't really mean it.

"Professor, look at her level, she'll be just a sylphine student," said Nancy Jane.

Nancy, who dared to speak about the depths of Sarah's magic, used a Durham accent when speaking and wore a short white robe with a pretty pink pattern.

"That's right, that's even lower than Jennifer's," Edith said loudly. All the girls laughed, except for the boys, who remained silent, unable to stop their antics.

Professor Marcelli smiled and looked at them with amusement, "Calm down, kids, look at this,"

The professor then stared at the puff of smoke that was suspended in the air and forming a small vortex.

"What will happen?" asked Sarah, fascinated.

Professor Marcelli was silent, then he whispered, "Biora will appear,"

Sarah fell silent, and several students watched tensely. The small swirl of smoke then grew into a white swan with red eyes. The bird then flew high and circled around Sarah.

"That was a goose!" Sarah said in amazement.

"Aww...so romantic, he is a Barbedswan," said Professor Marcelli with a feeling of emotion.

"How did the swan appear?" Sarah asked frantically.

"Sarah, the biora is stored within the witch's magic as a familiar," said Professor Marcelli softly.

"But I didn't realize I had a biora!" Sarah replied with a surprised expression.

"How could you not realize it when it was inside you?" Bruce asked in surprise.

Professor Marcelli then looked down and smiled at his children.

"Maybe the biora was already there before he knew," the professor answered briefly.

The swan then flapped its wings and vanished into thin air. Now, the Rosesmith girls were whispering again, doubting the biora that had appeared earlier.

"That's too beautiful for a girl as humble as Sylphine to have..." Lois said in discussion.

"Maybe he's been possessed by his biora," Edith joked.

"Can you count how many Barbedswan owners are in our dorm?" Lois asked seriously.

"not many, but is professor grimble included?" nancy asked innocently.

Shirley, the auburn-haired girl, started counting using her memory, while Vincent and Bruce just watched the three girls.

Professor Marcelli shook his head then walked over to his students and looked at them kindly.

"No one should underestimate him, whether he ever stumbled in the meadow..." Professor Marcelli said, pausing for a moment.

The Rosesmith girls fell silent to listen to Professor Olga Marcelli's words, they then lined up and listened with smiles.

"Is he a half-human witch, or is there something scary in his family..." said Professor Marcelli while clasping his hands.

"Who's that, Professor?" Sarah asked, as if the professor was discussing someone. Dorothy also seemed to laugh a little after hearing the professor's words.

The professor then continued, "Not who, Sarah." He sighed, "or even- Jennifer, Edith..."

The professor looked at Edith with a knowing look. Edith had a chubby face, curly blonde hair that hung all over her head, and on the chest of her robe was a small plaque depicting a yellow bird.

"I agree, don't judge someone before we know them well enough," said Vincent who was standing near Dorothy.

"I was just kidding, ma'am. But seriously, go back to Rosesmith Jennifer!" Edith said, then left the crowd.

"Oww, Edith..." said the professor with a resigned face.

"Aa- what's wrong with weak magic, professor?" Sarah asked, she hugged his arm..

"That means you should start as a mage in the Sylphine house, dear," the professor said with a smile.

"But don't worry, if you strengthen your magic then you will be able to become Rosesmith... Like Liliana," the professor said quietly, his face tense.

"Yes, like us!" Nancy shouted proudly.

"You'll probably live as Sylphine until you get stronger," Lois said teasingly, her smile unreadable.

"So I'm a student at this school now?" Sarah asked.

Professor Marcelli then pulled and straightened Sarah's position, "Yes, but please be quiet for a moment Sarah," he said.

Sarah stood still, while the professor immediately waved his wand in her direction. Vestimentum Ad Usum, a spell, was then directed at Sarah.

And suddenly a puff of midnight blue, white, and black smoke accompanied by twinkling stars enveloped Sarah's body, and the smoke quickly disappeared and was replaced by clothes the same color as the smoke. She wore black mary jane shoes with white leggings and a long tunic reaching to the base of the calf with puffed sleeves, in addition to that she also wore a black vest and a short midnight blue cloak on her shoulders.

"Well, that's perfect, you're now officially a student of the Sylphine House," said Professor Marcelli with a sweet smile.

"Blimey... that's amazing," Sarah said, her body tense.

"But remember, you have to return this uniform after you have new clothes," said Professor Marcelli smiling.

"Okay, Professor!" Sarah replied happily.

Professor Marcelli also invited Sarah and the other children to come into the school, all the Rosesmith students followed behind him.

"So, come on kids, it's probably almost time for class," he said casually as he put his arm around Sarah.

Sarah glanced around the school's corridors, which had ribbed domes and walls made of dark sandstone. She continued to look around, finding the transmutation classroom and the history of magic classroom.

Sarah then noticed that besides Rosesmith and Sylphine, there was another dormitory whose robes were only black with a purple emblem. They were students from the Dissinia dormitory. There were also students who looked like dwarves. The hallway was already filled with students of various ages, and Sarah walked between them.

"Professor... I never thought I would be in a magic school, it felt like destiny that I didn't expect," Sarah muttered, her gaze sharp at Marcelli.

Professor Marcelli just smiled, he then touched Sarah's shoulder gently.

"You're so sweet Sarah," the professor said in praise.

"Sarah look over there," said the professor, pointing to a boy older than Sarah, "He is Raymond Ellington, the leader of the Sylphine dormitory," he continued.

"Here, Raymond."

Professor Marcelli then called Raymond Ellington to come closer.

Raymond looks older than Sarah with his straight, fairly long black hair.

"Professor, I can't find Ethan anywhere!" She said with a little panic.

"Ethan? You better not look for him, let me replace him," said Professor Marcelli quickly.

Raymond looked confused because the child had disappeared, he immediately turned his attention to Sarah who was standing beside the professor.

"Hey, who is this?" asked Raymond curiously.

"Why don't you take this new student, Sarah, on a tour of the school, and," the professor sighed, "Introduce her to all the Sylphine members her age."

"Okay, professor," Raymond said shortly.

and in the end Sarah broke up with Professor Marcelli halfway through and followed Raymond everywhere.

"I'm Raymond Ellington, nice to meet you," said Raymond with a friendly smile.

"I'm Sarah Beverley, a new member of Sylphine..." Sarah answered hesitantly.

"Welcome to Sylphine, no need to hesitate," said Raymond.

Raymond then took Sarah on a tour of the school and introduced each room and its function, including the spells, potions and their history, and transmutation classes. These were located right in the center of the castle, while the herbology and broomstick classes were located outside.

As they walked down the hallway to the corridor's entrance, they met Professor Nevis Grimble and Madam Jacqueline Cartina. Professor Grimble stared at Sarah while whispering a long incantation, while the madam only smiled kindly. The two figures looked different.

"New student, what is your name?" Professor Grimble asked in a whisper.

Professor Grimble brought a dark green apple-shaped glass crystal. He waved his hand around the apple and whispered a spell softly. Sarah then told him her name.

"beverley... i feel it," said the professor quietly.

The professor then closed his eyes and stroked the surface of the crystal apple. He then whispered softly in his fragile voice.

"You were with someone who had been led by Ealdor, but he ignored you... you were lucky at that time,"

"Raymond, what do you mean by this?" Sarah asked, looking at Raymond.

"He's Professor Grimble, he can sense the presence of others from very far away with his crystal apple!" Raymond replied in a whisper.

"I am Madam Cartina, I am an expert in potions," said Madam Cartina with a friendly smile.

"That's truly a wizard," Sarah said in awe.

"kids, how about you go visit the dormitory, you haven't been there yet, right?" said madam Cartina casually.

"Okay, madam," Raymond replied.

Raymond and Sarah said goodbye to the two staff members and climbed the grand staircase to the second floor. They now stood on a long, high stone bridge connecting the two castle buildings. There were four bridges, plus a bridgehall, a grand hall on the far right side of the castle.

The three bridges serve to connect the castle to the dormitory, and their heights vary. The tallest bridge, surmounted by a large lizard statue, provides access exclusively for the school board. The bridge's pillars are made of bricks arranged to form a beautiful pillar amidst the cliff.

"What's wrapped around the bridge pillar?" Sarah asked curiously.

"Ah, that's the Salamander, the symbol of Brighford, it's the only school bridge that won't be taken down," Raymond said casually, while Sarah continued to look at the statue.

"Come here quickly," Raymond immediately stepped forward again.

Chapter 4: spell training class

Right above the dormitory door is a unicorn symbol, indicating that it is indeed the direction to the Sylphine dormitory.

"Is the unicorn the symbol of the Sylphine house?" Sarah asked.

Raymond chuckled, "Yes, that's the symbol of our dormitory."

Sarah ran and entered the dormitory. Curious and nervous, Sarah stepped inside. She arrived at the administration room, which featured a blue sofa and both the Brighford and Sylphine flags displayed on the walls. Sarah was then shown to the girls' bathroom.

In front of the bathroom door was a small room that looked like a lounge, with a red carpet, a fireplace, and a large, soft white sofa.

"Near the corner of this break room there is a secret painting passage that leads directly to the dormitory hallway," Raymond said casually.

"Is that necessary?" Sarah asked.

Raymond then approached a painting in the room. "Professor Marcelli said it's necessary, and the way to do it is by going through the frame," Raymond replied.

Then, Dory came out of the painting and looked at Raymond with a confused face, Dory had a small blue ribbon that she tied behind her hair while on her clothes there were 3 badges plus one silver badge.

"What are you doing here? This is a women's place," Dory asked, her eyes wide.

"I'm tutoring Sarah, she's the new kid," Raymond answered quickly.

"New kid? Why don't I guide him!" Dory shouted, her gaze sharp.

"Of course, please," Raymond said casually.

Sarah was pulled by Dory into the painting frame and taken into the painting of the wooden hallway with the flashes of sunlight. Sarah was now in the hallway with wooden beams that were separated from each other, from the floor to the sky, while the roof of the hallway curved until it ate her left side, while in the middle of the roof there was a narrow window that directed sunlight into the hallway.

"I'm Dory Lannsoir, a second-grader. I usually fill in for Raymond when he's not around," Dory said, introducing herself.

"I'm Sarah Beverley, I just found out about this world," said Sarah.

"Just call it the Majisca region," Dory said casually, "It's okay, even your classmate, Oscar, didn't know anything at first."

Sarah then followed Dory, and jumped over each wooden beam to avoid tripping.

"Is that sunlight?" Sarah asked, turning her head to look at the light through the window, and she continued walking.

"No, it's artificial light coming from the window glass," Dory replied casually.

Dory then sighed and slowed her pace, "We witches actually prefer the light that comes through the windows naturally," she said in a low voice.

"This hallway...is amazing," Sarah praised, her eyes widening.

"Really? I think so too, Sarah," said Dory.

"Maybe this is the only beautiful thing this dorm has. Although usually the one called the most beautiful dorm is Rosesmith," said Dory in a low voice.

"Rosmith looks very posh," Sarah said, muttering.

Dory then lowered her face, then turned around, "Yes they are very luxurious, but... do you want to see this dormitory pavilion? You probably haven't been there yet," asked Dory happily.

The Sylphine dormitory pavilion was located on the roof of the dormitory, and although it was small and some of the pavilion's frame was cracked, it was still used by the Sylphine children to dry their clothes.

"What is that place?" asked Sarah.

"As expected, we only use that place to dry clothes, and we forbid boys from going inside," Dory said confidently.

Dory then invited Sarah to go to the dormitory pavilion by passing through another branch of the painting. There, clothes were already hanging on lines. Fairies were seen fluttering around the dresses, as if protecting the freshly dried garments.

"This morning, Clarissa was the one who washed our clothes." Dory said with relief.

"So this is where the clothes are hung out to dry, huh?" Sarah asked, looking up so she could see each item of clothing there.

"Yes, and if you need help with the bathroom, just ask me," Dory said, a sweet smile plastered on her face.

"Usually my clothesline is in the back garden...so this is a bit interesting," Sarah mumbled.

Then, after a long time, Sarah came back out of the painting with Dory, they walked leisurely down the dormitory hallway, around them were the Sylphine students busy with their own activities.

"You're so funny, do you think Dracula really came to your room?" Dory asked amusedly.

"No...but what if there was, this is a magical world," Sarah guessed.

"Unfortunately, there is no Dracula in Magica," Dory said, she continued to explain tensely, "But there was once a story about a witch who stole the blood of another witch for the sake of obsession."

Then, the sound of a flat whistle echoed through the halls and hallways, its shrill, like someone dying. A loudspeaker with a silver metal cone had been installed on the hallway wall, and from there, the whistle's sound spread throughout the school.

"What's that sound!" Sarah shouted in surprise.

Sarah then covered her ears because of the whistle sound, until the sound stopped.

Professor Pemberton's voice came over the loudspeaker, he sounded polite and used a classic British dialect.

"To my beloved first-year students, please come to the love spell training class immediately, and to the dorm leaders, please do another attendance count," the professor said in a serious tone.

"Aah, there must be a student who ran away," Dory guessed.

Then Raymond walked towards her, both of them, "Come on Sarah, you can go to class too," Raymond invited, pushing Sarah gently.

Sarah quickened her pace and tried to walk on her own, meanwhile Raymond started talking to Sarah.

Dory shouted to Sarah, "And my last piece of advice, Sarah. When the sun is about to set, come back to the dormitory for the evening roll call," she said happily.

"Yes, Miss Lannsoir," Sarah said softly.

The students, dressed in short, carmine-red and blue robes, began walking toward the spell training class. Some had just emerged from the dormitory, crossing the long school bridge.

The spell training class, located next to the room where Brighford's proud trophies are kept.

The interior of the classroom is quite spacious even though the building is simple. Behind the large table there are many wooden cupboards which function to store experimental equipment.

Sarah saw that Professor Nicholas Belgrave was already sitting in the classroom, waiting for his students. Meanwhile, under the table were small dolls neatly arranged.

Professor Belgrave wore a shirt with the sleeves rolled up, his hair was messy brown and thin whiskers were growing on the edges of his cheeks.

"I doubt Beatrice. She only cares about Rosesmith," Professor Belgrave said after hearing Beatrice's voice, his words heard by Elias.

The professor then turned towards the door and saw his children starting to enter the classroom, all wearing dark robes on their shoulders except for Dissinia's child.

"Welcome children..." said Professor Belgrave, kindly.

"Greetings, professor," said Raymond politely.

"I've checked, professor, the first class Rosesmith is complete," said Elias standing near the professor.

"Okay Elias, and don't tell Beatrice about my taunts," said Professor Nicholas with a light smile.

"Of course, Professor," Elias replied. He sat down at the teacher's desk and laughed softly.

Sarah watched as one by one the three dorm leaders began to report the number of students already in class.

The leader of the Dissinia house, Thomas Roland, was the last to step forward, wearing a simple short black and grey robe that was draped over his shoulders.

"The number of Dissinia's children remains the same, four," Thomas said, his voice as thin as a whisper.

"We're Dissinia, because we're both the sons of criminals," Doumish Vanser shouted. He was thinner than Neville.

"Yes, but I'm disappointed to be placed on Dissinia," said Neville Wright, his face scrunched up until his chubby forehead and eyebrows looked very round.

Professor Belgrave looked up and stared at the two children with a little annoyance, "just because you are the children of criminals... doesn't mean you can repeat the actions of your parents, and vice versa."

The two children did not answer, meanwhile Sarah then started to speak in a thin voice.

"Professor...when does class start?" Sarah asked shyly.

"Good, good question..." said Professor Belgrave with an amused smile.

"But are you a new student, your face looks familiar to me?" asked the professor curious about Sarah's face.

"Yes," Sarah answered firmly, "I am Sarah Beverley... nice to meet you Professor."

"I am Professor Nicholas Belgrave," Professor Belgrave replied casually.

"Alright! Let's get this class started!" the professor shouted to the entire room.

Professor Belgrave then moved the table that had been standing in the center of the room closer to the classroom wall. In the place where the table had previously stood, eight chicken-shaped dolls were neatly arranged on the floor.

Sarah became curious about the eight dolls, wondering what the professor wanted to do.

"So I'll repeat the previous theory," said Professor Belgrave with a sigh, "magic spells are a way for you to do things like attack, defend, heal, curse for survival or control, change objects and circumstances, control biora and put magic on objects. Because spells are a series of special words and utterances that can affect all of that,"

The professor then slowly stepped back towards the blackboard.

"As the philosopher, Mr. Ortis Bedemar, said, spells are a way for magicians to control their own reality and their surroundings with just a series of words or special utterances. And the spells that are popular among English magicians are the Italian concept of logos," he continued.

The professor breathed a sigh of relief then turned around, "and I will give you the next spell lesson, which is Healsana Vulnus, a spell to heal wounds on the body."

"So, is that the spell we have to memorize this week?" Sophie Duskley asked casually.

"Yes, that's right, Sophie!" Nicholas replied, Sophie seemed to smile sarcastically.

"Have any of you ever been hurt?" Professor Belgrave asked in a high voice as he looked around at his students.

"I once, Professor, was impaled by a branch," Anna Lister answered confidently. She stood at the front of Sylphine's other students.

"If that's true, would you be willing to be a test subject?" the professor asked bluntly.

The students in the class then held back their laughter, Sarah was a little curious about what was funny and then laughed a little too.

"I'm not kidding," said the professor.

"Elias!" shouted the professor, calling out to the head of Rosesmith, Elias Aanwick.

"Okay, Professor!" he said confidently.

Elias then walked over to the professor, who then stepped forward and immediately pointed to the dolls. Elias was wearing a red, carmine robe with a red motif that said prefect.

"Transform them into Cockatrices, similar to the one Mrs. Stroud defeated yesterday. Show your juniors your transmutation skills," Professor Nicholas said casually.

"Ready, Professor," Elias answered firmly.

Elias then took his wand, a shiny black Ardea-class wand with a hint of red, and immediately used the Transmutation spell.

"Bestialis Mutatio!" he said, pointing his wand downwards, his eyes focused on all the dolls.

Instantly, sparks of magic appeared on the eight dolls and floated to the ceiling. Instantly, they all transformed into dying chickens with snake-like tails. The monster was a cockatrice. Sarah was amazed, as this was her first time seeing a magical creature and a shapeshifting spell.

"I want eight people from Sylphine to come forward first," the professor said hurriedly.

"Please come forward, Robby, Harold, Sophie, Malcolm, Anna, Luna, Chloe, and the new student: Sarah," said the professor calling them all.

The eight students who were called then began to come forward, all of them simultaneously lined up in front of the dying animal and took out their wands of various light classes, Sarah who was not holding a wand at all then called the professor.

"Excuse me, Professor, I don't have a wand like that," Sarah said awkwardly, glancing at the other children's wands.

Professor Belgrave looked at him in surprise, "how come you don't have a wand..."

There was a sound of giggling from some of the students in Sarah's grasshopper, but Professor Belgrave paid no attention to the Rosesmith children.

"He didn't just forget his uniform," Vincent said in surprise.

"Yeah, he's really in a hurry," Lois said with an ironic smile, Chloe looked like she was frowning after hearing Lois's words.

"But okay, does anyone want to help Sarah?" asked Professor Belgrave in a high tone.

"I do! I do, professor." Chloe shouted excitedly.

Chloe haveline immediately raised her hand, her messy brown hair almost covering half of her eyes, she was also wearing a gray apron and her jacket sleeves were so wide that her elbows were clearly visible. Nivan was surprised by Chloe's action while Lois looked at her in amusement.

"Please do, Chloe," said the professor kindly.

"That's Chloe, always nice to people," Lois said coldly.

Chloe approached Sarah and gave her a magic wand that had additional wood connected by hemp rope and wire so that it looked longer and stronger.

"Please use this," Chloe said, handing him her wand.

"Thank you... Chloe," Sarah said, smiling in relief.

"You're welcome, give it a try," Chloe said casually.

Sarah then went forward with eight other students while carrying Chloe's stick, she felt nervous, she tightened her grip on the stick.

But Sarah's attention was diverted to Luna Belgrave who was in the side row suddenly sobbing and kneeling in front of the cockatrice, making Sarah confused.

"this is too.... scary..." he said as he took a deep breath, his voice breaking.

"What's wrong, why are you crying?" asked Sarah worriedly.

Instantly the Rosesmith students looked at her cynically, while Sophie on the other hand wanted to calm Luna down.

"Luna, calm down," Sophie said frantically.

"Luna, please stop crying," Professor Belgrave's brow furrowed in worry.

"But he's dying... I don't want to.... sob," Luna shouted, still sobbing, staring at the cockatrice in front of her.

"Oh-oh, there goes the empathetic Luna again," Chloe said, grinning.

"Why is Luna so empathetic?" Sarah asked in a low voice.

"He's been like that since the fall," Chloe said, Chloe then whispered, "there was a Dissinian kid who glued a huchber on because he bit his ear."

At that time, Luna had already secretly rescued the rat-like creature with a flat, pig-like nose and released it from the adhesive so that it would no longer be the subject of ridicule.

"You are my friend now," said Luna with a beaming face.

"But instead of letting him go, Luna took the huchber to the school garden... and finally the Dissinia child was bitten again by the huchber on the nose," Chloe continued her story.

"I didn't expect Luna to be like that," Sarah said, amused.

The professor then took out his wand and tapped on the blackboard that said Healsana Vulnus.

"Please focus, point your wands at the cockatrice, then cast the spell, the healing time depends on your strength," the Professor continued.

The eight students, except Sarah and Luna, who stood before the cockatrices, then chanted the "healsana vulnus" together, while supporting their arms or wands with their other arms. Some held their wands with their elbows together and their left arm tilted diagonally. Others supported their right arm, which was holding the wand.

Suddenly the tips of their wands glowed, and small sparks swirled around the wands. Sarah watched with fascinated eyes.

Sarah pointed her wand nervously to try the spell, "Healsana vulnus..." she said with a pounding heart.

The wand Sarah was holding then flickered, but nothing happened to the cockatrice, Sarah started to get confused.

"What happened....Healsana Vulnus!" he shouted while keeping his focus.

"Healsana Vulnus, Healsana Vulnus, Healsana Vulnus" Sarah kept trying even though she was starting to feel anxious, her wand only flickered and was surrounded by a small yellow spark.

"Why isn't it working!" Sarah shouted, her brow furrowed. Chloe looked at Sarah and felt concerned.

Chloe then approached Sarah, after she managed to heal the cockatrice in front of her.

"Sarah, try to pay attention to the stick and the cockatrice, take turns watching them," Chloe said kindly.

Sarah followed Chloe's advice and began observing her wand and the cockatrice alternately. Gradually, the light on her wand stabilized.

"Then what next!" Sarah asked, her heart pounding in panic.

"Point your wand and say the logos slowly, hee-al-sa-na-vool-nus," Chloe whispered to Sarah softly, also giving the Latin spelling for the spell.

Sarah then pointed her wand at the cockatrice and began to slowly chant the spell Chloe had given her.

"Healsana...vulnus," Sarah said slowly, her mouth moving slowly.

The light on Sarah's wand then appeared and overlapped like waves, surrounded by magical sparks. Sarah panicked a bit and tightened her grip on the wand handle, while a faint, thin green mist was already emerging from the wound on the cockatrice's skin. A flash of light appeared and slowly began to close the gaping wound.

"Did I succeed..." Sarah asked with wide eyes.

"Hold your wand, it's not over yet!" Chloe advised, her eyes staring tensely.

Professor Belgrave then approached Sarah and observed, "You healed the wound in 11.5 seconds. The time will be shorter depending on the size of the wound and your experience," said Professor Belgrave with a straight body.

"Yes, Professor Belgrave!" Sarah replied, a wide smile appearing on her lips.

Sarah felt happy because she had just succeeded in using magic, even though it was only healing magic, but she was sure that this was the beginning of her becoming a witch and experiencing miracles.

Sarah then looked at Chloe, "Thank you for the stick and your help," she said with sparkling eyes.

"It's okay, it's just an experimental stick that I made, and my friends named it Jibboom," Chloe said happily.

"Jibboom?" Sarah looked a little surprised, but she quickly raised her eyebrows.

"By the way, my name is Chloe Haveline, nice to meet you Sarah," said Chloe with a proud smile.

"Nice to meet you, Chloe," Sarah said, returning Chloe's smile.

"And is it true that you came here suddenly, without stopping by the Esoteric market or the town square first?" Chloe asked, her face looking curious.

"Yes... I came through a magic wardrobe that suddenly dropped me into this place, when I wanted to escape from a strange nanny," Sarah said in a low voice.

"You came all of a sudden without bringing anything?" Chloe asked in surprise.

"Yes," Sarah turned around,

"How about you come with me to the greenhouse next to the school..." Chloe said casually.

"For what?" Sarah became curious, she hugged her stick with her hands.

"I'll make something for you..." Chloe replied happily.

Meanwhile, Luna was seen standing up and wiping her watery eyes, she then pointed her silver-adorned sturnus-class wand at the cockatrice seriously.

"Resipisco!" He shouted loudly, breaking the atmosphere.

The students behind her were shocked by the spell Luna uttered, it wasn't the spell on the blackboard. Anna immediately grabbed Luna's arm to stop her,

"Stop Luna!" he shouted, pulling Luna's hand.

"Oh Luna! Too late!" shouted Professor Belgrave in surprise.

Her wand then glowed even brighter, and her cockatrice began to be surrounded by an indigo elliptical magic. Instantly, the cockatrice in front of her leaped, amidst the surrounding magic sparks.

The animal was now moving, making a high-pitched, resonant sound, like a crow or a raccoon.

"The monster is alive now!" Harold shouted beside Sophie.

"Professor, Luna made her cockatrice move!" Clarissa shouted from the audience.

"Luna, what are you doing..." Sophie asked, she looked at her friend worriedly.

"What happened..." asked Sarah curiously, meanwhile Chloe could only remain silent.

"Luna you have awakened a monster, you risk a grade deduction," the Professor said sternly, his cheeks taut with anger.

"That, that's a spell to make objects have properties... but a dying coactrice isn't an object!" said Professor Belgrave tensely.

Luna then picked up the creature with the body of a chicken and the head of a snake, the cockatrice lifted its head and blinked for a moment.

"But Professor, I'm taking him away... don't cry anymore, poor monster," Luna said, the cockatrice already in her arms with its head turned behind Luna.

'Khraaawk' the monster screamed,

"Haa!" "Wooa!" shouted the students who were watching from behind. Nivan and Clarissa stepped back in surprise, Clarissa's heart felt like it was going to jump out of her body.

The monster immediately spewed fire, nearly hitting the other students behind Luna, including Sylphine's other child. Luna then quickly carried the beast out of the classroom.

Professor Belgrave then walked behind Luna.

"Luna... Luna! You should know the risks," said the professor as he chased after Luna.

"That looks like a dangerous monster, but why is Luna carrying it?" Sarah asked, her gaze following Luna's movements.

Chloe hissed, "Because Luna is a girl who really likes magical animals: But she sometimes doesn't have the courage when her pets do something wrong," Chloe said annoyed.

Luna then left the class and ran in a hurry while carrying the monster who looked at her innocently as if he didn't understand what had just happened.

"I'll catch up with you later," the professor said after a few seconds, for now he decided to continue with the lesson in that class.

"Okay, class, please continue with the practice," said Professor Belgrave seriously.

After a long time, until all the students had tried the Healsana Vulnus spell, a quiet bell rang in the distance, coming from the mechanical clock in Gervais Tower. The tower stood behind the rooftop pavilion of Rosesmith Dormitory. After the bell rang, the basic spell class ended.

"Alright, class is over, please take a break," said Professor Belgrave as he rubbed the glasses in his hand.

Then a loud whistle sounded from the loudspeaker. The students then exited the spell training class happily. Just as the Professor was about to chase Luna, Anna suddenly approached him in the middle of the school hallway.

"Professor, wait a minute, there's something I want to talk to you about," Anna interrupted with a serious face.

"Okay, Anna, what do you want to talk about?" asked the professor, leaning over.

"Professor, I want to know, what is the spell for telepathy?" he asked curiously.

The professor then bent down and leaned his face close to Anna's.

"if you really want to know, you just need to recite comunicatio sensus," said professor belgrave kindly.

"I'll try later, Professor," Anna replied with a friendly smile.

The professor then stood up, and lowered his eyebrows seriously.

"so... let me through," said professor belgrave.

"Okay," Anna answered softly.

Anna then moved to the side and let Professor Belgrave pass her.

"Professor," Anna called, turning around.

Professor Belgrave looked at him seriously.

"Please don't be rude to Luna," Anna said nervously.

"I won't be rude to him," Professor Belgrave replied briefly.

The professor then continued walking to look for Luna. Anna looked at Professor Belgrave who had already walked away.

Chapter 5: Just to Meet You

Far away on the edge of a forest filled with flowers and rocky cliffs, the atmosphere was strange, as if the place was rarely visited by humans. Within the forest stood statues of unusual wild animals, such as a buffel monster that resembled a deer with four straight, sharp antlers. And a lickwhisk, which resembled a pig with a long, protruding tongue.

Maggie walked with an empty feeling in the middle of the forest, sometimes she looked around. Several magical animals with unusual shapes watched her. Until finally they all ran away.

"Oh my god, I'm here, I'm really here, where are you?" Maggie asked in a whisper.

Then the wind blew hard, shaking the trees around Maggie, a vortex of dry leaves then appeared around her body.

From behind one of the trees, a mysterious shadow stepped out, moving to another tree and then appearing again on a different tree and changing places.

"Roxa..." Maggie called softly.

"margaret..."

"margaret..."

"Roxa? I tell you again that I'm Maggie now!" Maggie protested.

Something whispered from behind the forest, calling Maggie's name several times, the voice sounded like that of an old and frail person. Maggie then walked slowly after hearing the whisper.

"You are my little friend, right... follow the light, I will give you magic," a mysterious whisper echoed through the forest.

"But, where are you? I- I'm starving," said Maggie confused.

"...alright, follow the fire, there's food nearby," the figure said in a teasing tone.

Then 19 feet in front of Maggie, dry leaves then caught fire and ignited blue flames in the air, a fishy smell then emerged from that direction. Maggie then walked closer to the fire. The figure of fire then moved slowly, Maggie then immediately chased it until it passed the trees and mossy rocks.

Maggie was then taken to an abandoned church in the middle of the forest, where fresh game meat was hanging in the courtyard. The fire then entered through the door, carrying Maggie into the church.

Maggie then continued to follow the blue flame until it reached the vestry of the church. The flame stood on a pile of belongings covered with wool sacks until it vanished into thin air.

Maggie then immediately uncovered the pile of sacks and finally found food in the form of nuts, hard cheese, and dried meat covered in salt. She immediately took the meat in a hurry and immediately ate it.

on the other side, right at the church door, there was someone walking while rubbing his thighs, he was wearing a tight jacket and had a shabby hairstyle, he then saw Maggie in the vestry room.

"Who are you..." he called after seeing Maggie.

Maggie then immediately stood up and immediately hid the meat that was still in her hand.

"I-I'm Maggie... sorry sir, I was just brought here by my friend," said Maggie tensely.

The man then tilted his head, staring suspiciously.

"Are you a witch?" he asked coldly.

"I'm not a witch..." Maggie answered in a long tone, "but I'm looking for that power,"

"You're not a witch!" he said, clenching his fists.

The crow's feathers then fell from the gaps in the glass in the church roof, down to the middle floor of the church hall which had rotted, the mysterious person then turned his gaze to the falling feathers and immediately bowed respectfully with his left hand straight to the side.

Then a small tornado of soot appeared from the feathers that fell to the floor, forming a small vortex that slowly grew larger. Maggie then coughed as the remaining soot accidentally came to life.

The soot then transformed into a figure with crescent-moon horns facing forward. The figure was up to 9 feet tall with a straight robe covering his body until the soles of his feet were not visible.

The figure had thin hair that was swept back and a very round and large left eye with a bright yellow color.

"Stop your fighting, I only ask you to gather," said the figure in a firm tone.

Maggie, recognizing the voice, slowly approached. She stared tensely at the wrinkled figure.

"By the way, sir, who is this woman?" asked the previous person.

"She is a woman with a sad past... she needs to become an alchemist," said the figure looking at the two.

"Roxa, is that you?" Maggie asked in disbelief.

The figure that Maggie thought was Roxa then stepped closer to her. She then showed her left arm that was hidden under her robe.

"Yes... I am your old friend," he answered in a long tone, "and this man is... he came for his own problem," he continued in a whisper.

Maggie then stepped closer carefully, "Roxa..." Maggie called.

"Whoever he is, you must help me fulfill my wish," said the man while lowering his eyebrows.

"be patient, I don't want to do it in this holy place-"

"But Mr. Vorag, this place has been closed since the sixteenth century," the man interrupted seriously.

"There's no point in you saying that, we're done here," said the soot man in a calm tone.

Roxa then slowly walked closer to Maggie, she then stared at the woman. While under her robe, smoke slowly came out.

"Roxa, I have a question," Maggie interrupted.

Maggie then looked at the sooty figure who was starting to look down and the man whose face was starting to look annoyed.

"Maybe later..." Maggie whispered.

Roxa then held Maggie's shoulder and then directed her to the vestry room, where Maggie got her food.

"Bring as much food as you can, our goal now is; Scotland," said Roxa weakly.

Maggie immediately went to the vastry and took all the meat and nuts she could carry.

"Is that food not dangerous?" the man asked half-seriously.

"Are you afraid? Try it once if you want," said Roxa in a confused tone.

"Sorry sir, I'm not hungry right now," the man said with wide eyes.

After Maggie took a lot of food, she then went to follow the two. They had now arrived outside the church, Roxa signaled for them to wait.

Then from behind the trees came a horse-drawn carriage moving quickly towards them, its wheels were almost as big as an adult's and its cab was a dark orange color. The two horses carrying the carriage had bodies made of pieces of stone and manes that were sparkling silver.

"That's a moving animal statue..." Maggie muttered in amazement.

"No, they are not animal statues," the man said quietly.

"That's what will take us far, the Scottish gnome horse," said Roxa with a thin smile.

"nice vehicle... I don't feel like walking," the man muttered.

The three of them then got into the horse carriage, and the carriage immediately moved quickly along the path in the forest.

After all that happened, in the inner courtyard of Brighford in front of the high tower, there was a seagull belonging to a Sylphine student who was flying in the air to snatch the food held by the students.

Gelusendius, a Rosesmith boy, then shot a spell at the seagull until its body froze and the bird immediately fell to the ground.

"Good, he won't disturb our time this time," said the boy laughing with his friend.

Sarah watched from the window as the bird fell to the ground. She immediately ran down the school stairs and approached the window to see the seagull surrounded by children.

Nearby, Nivan was sitting by the window. He then opened the bag containing the food and found a faded yellow letter. The letter was written by Torcall, he then immediately opened the letter and read its contents.

*Hello son, I have obtained 350 octamille after handling the case of smuggling werewolves on a passenger ship full of humans. I promise to give you the remaining 60 octamille. And here I want to tell you a little about the results of my investigation into what happened to your parents,*

Nivan then immediately closed the letter and hid it in his trouser pocket.

"I don't want to hear that now," Nivan said firmly.

Nivan took the bread and olives that were stored in the small bag and then began to eat them slowly.

Sarah and Nivan then saw Professor Pemberton walking hurriedly. He grabbed Harold's hand and pulled the student down the corridor. Harold's face looked scared. Nivan then stood up and approached Professor Pemberton.

"Ouch! It hurts," the child complained.

"Wait, what's wrong?" asked Sarah confused.

"Professor, what's wrong?" Nivan asked slowly.

"Mr. Arkwood, this student has released a meastel in the laboratory!" said Professor Pemberton firmly.

Some of Rosesmith's students who followed Professor Pemberton then stared at Nivan sharply.

"why do you ask nivan?" lois asked teasingly.

"This student must be punished, because the meat that he released has made us fail to use the animal," said Nancy angrily.

"That's right, we want to make a potion with meastel!" Lois shouted.

Nivan then took a deep breath, he caught a glimpse of Harold as if he was hiding something in his stomach.

"They told me to look for it, but they never shared the meat with me," Harold muttered in complaint.

"but you get paid," lois said firmly.

"But I want the meat!" Harold shouted with a red face.

"You ask too much, Harold," Nancy said, surprised.

"Professor, just let him go, let me take over looking for that animal," Nivan muttered.

Professor Pemberton then noticed Nivan's appearance. Nivan had dark brown hair and wore glasses with small frames and large eyes. He also had dark green eyes.

Sarah also noticed Nivan's outfit, a caramel-colored jacket with a wool Sylphine dormitory jumper underneath. He still wore his pants and neat shoes.

"Mr. Arkwood, you look clean, are you serious about looking for that rodent hiding under the ground?" asked the professor sharply.

"Of course, Professor, I'll be fine even if I don't use any tricks. Like when I took the corbies' eggs for the long sleep potion," Nivan answered sincerely.

"Okay, go now, Mr. Arkwood, but run away if you encounter any dangerous monsters," said Professor Pemberton, straightening his back.

"Okay, Professor Pemberton," Nivan replied with a thin smile.

Nivan then walked away towards the second floor, while Harold looked at him worriedly. Professor Pemberton then released Harold from his grip.

"Why is he... so nice?" Harold asked confusedly.

"Okay Harold, you won't be punished, but at least you apologize to these girls," said Professor Pemberton firmly.

"Okay, I'm sorry," Harold said nervously.

"Next time don't try to disturb us," said Lois seriously.

"fine," harold complained.

Harold then hugged his stomach and walked away nervously. Professor Pemberton then immediately returned to his office, where he usually delivered news to the children in class through the loudspeaker. At that time, the second grade had started their second period earlier than the first grade, Professor Pemberton asked the children to gather in the greenhouse.

Chloe suddenly came over to Sarah. This time, Chloe wasn't wearing her apron, but was wearing a black school vest. She looked radiant in the black vest, while her hair was dark blonde with the bottom part left messy.

"Sarah, where have you been? Why are you just standing here?" Chloe asked softly.

"I saw a child being punished by the Professor," Sarah whispered.

"But, I said earlier that there was something I wanted to make for you," Chloe said, furrowing her eyebrows.

Sarah then looked at Chloe curiously, "What do you want to make?" Sarah asked nervously.

"magic wand!" chloe said in a teasing tone.

"Magic wand, why?" Sarah asked in surprise.

"Of course because you didn't bring it, besides why didn't you bring anything to the magic school?" said Chloe in a long tone.

"I'm sorry, I didn't come here because I wanted to," Sarah replied, lowering her head.

"Okay, come with me. We'll go to the greenhouse together," Chloe smiled sincerely.

Chloe then immediately walked down the hallway, Sarah then followed Chloe from behind.

"Are there any classes or modules you'd like?" Chloe asked directly.

"I don't know what that's all about," Sarah said, cocking an eyebrow.

Chloe was then surprised, "Sorry, so you really just found out about Majisca?"

Sarah then nodded and cleared her throat slowly. "True..." she said shortly.

Chloe then explained to Sarah at length how wands had seven classes, from Coturnix to Aquila, and about additional modules. As they talked, they passed through a connecting corridor that would eventually lead them into the greenhouse complex. There was also a herbology class there.

Inside the greenhouse, there was a strange oak tree whose branches twisted and reached the ceiling. There was also an alder tree with its fruit hanging from the ceiling. Meanwhile, beneath the trees were liberty cab mushrooms and henbane.

Meanwhile, on the branches of the alder tree, there were mandrakes hanging in a net, and they were not moving, as if they had dried up.

There they walked past small pots of plants, some flowering, and some bearing fruit. Their steps followed a path made of gray cobblestones. They then arrived at a round wooden table.

"Wait here, Sarah. I want to check my closet first," Chloe said firmly.

Chloe went to the other side of the greenhouse, where she faced the mound of plants that spread in all directions and then used the movetur phantasia spell to lift the wardrobe from the mound.

Sarah waited for Chloe to take her things for quite a while, then Sarah decided to observe the herbology class through the glass window on the wall of her room.

There, the second-year students were sitting at their desks, paying close attention to Professor Fairlow's class. Professor Fairlow was wearing a mint-colored velvet dress and had a flower beside her ear. Her hair was curly and fluffy.

"Witches used potions to protect themselves from invisible magic," Professor Fairlow said at length.

Professor Fairlow then took 3 pieces of Mistletoe plant, then put them in a pot.

"You have to put Mistletoe as the main power, then put in the muffinromp ant head, next, kelpie tears,"

The professor put the ant's head in the glass jar, and then dripped a kelpie's tear into the pan. Sarah leaned against the window, listening to Professor Fairlow's explanation.

"wait, we still need a solution from

Scarlet Pimpernel, just five drops,” he said teasingly.

"Then children, just wait 7 minutes, because after this you will get a defense potion against black magic attacks," said Professor Fairlow with a friendly smile.

All the second-year students who witnessed this then gave their applause to Professor Fairlow, "So, students, before you continue with your potions lesson, check out the gardens of each of your respective dormitories," he continued, giving advice.

"Okay, professor!"

All the second-year students then stood up and walked out of the room. A conversation was heard among them.

"Why doesn't Rosesmith's garden look like a garden?" asked Quentin Morris.

"You should know Quentin, that's because their garden has turned into a plant collection place," answered a Dissinia student spontaneously.

"You two don't understand the value of the plants we keep," argued a Rosesmith student.

Professor Fairlow then smiled softly when he saw his children's behavior.

The professor then took out his magic wand.

After that, he immediately realized that Sarah had been watching from behind the window, he then smiled at Sarah. The professor then waved his hand at her.

"Hey sweetie, what are you doing at that window?" asked Professor Fairlow kindly.

"I'm paying attention in this class, professor," Sarah replied casually.

"You're from Sylphine? Come and introduce yourself," Professor Fairlow asked.

Sarah stepped back and walked around the corridor, she entered the herbology class through the large door next to the class.

"I'm Sarah Beverley, I'm a new student at Brighford School," Sarah answered nervously.

"Do you want to see something amazing?" asked Professor Fairlow teasingly.

"Of course, you can," Sarah replied hesitantly.

Professor Fairlow then took his wand which had a moon pendant, he then waved his wand slowly in front of the steam coming from the pot.

"This is simple magic, even for a child," muttered the professor.

Professor Gloria Fairlow then whispered the Sculvapor spell which then made the steam coming out of the pot turn into the silhouette of a squirrel, a rabbit then appeared too, followed by a cat wearing a shirt and hat and starting to do a shoe dance.

"how did you do it umm... miss professor," asked sarah stuttered.

"Just call me Professor Fairlow, it's easy, because steam is soft and easy to shape," replied Professor Fairlow.

"so, that's why it's called an easy spell for little kids," sarah said raising her eyebrows.

"of,"

Sarah then looked around the classroom "besides, what class is this, professor?" asked Sarah curiously.

"This is a herbology class, while all the greenhouses around this class are part of the plantation. Some belong to the dormitory and some belong to the school," said Professor Fairlow.

Sarah then smiled in awe, "Professor, can I try that spell too?" she asked with a widening gaze.

"Of course, please," replied Professor Fairlow kindly.

Sarah then took the jiboom magic wand tucked into a long pocket in her skirt. Sarah then waved the wand in front of the steam and immediately cast the sculvapor spell. A wisp of steam then gathered above the pot, forming a long-bodied animal. Although its shape was almost indistinct.

"That's fine, that's fine," said Professor Fairlow, "try to maintain the shape," he ordered tensely.

Sarah then nodded, trying to give the smoke a shape. Finally, she succeeded in giving the vapor a shape: a weasel with fluffy fur.

"hahaha, look.... I did it," said Sarah with a small laugh.

The weasel then flew to the right and danced in various directions. Then, birds and other mammals emerged from the pan. The animals then moved wildly, and the air around them began to move rapidly.

"What's wrong with the spell?" Sarah asked, starting to panic.

"oh- reduce the number of animals you release," professor fairlow quickly suggested.

Sarah then felt a gust of steam brush her face as a cat-shaped cloud of smoke quickly passed around the classroom.

*meow*

"I'll try!" Sarah shouted, covering her face.

Some of the animals then began to enter the pot one by one, although the others continued to move wildly. Some of the objects in the herbology classroom began to sway due to the animals' movements.

The hemp rope on Sarah's stick then broke one by one, until it came loose from the pattern of holes in the wooden support. Then finally the stick exploded into several small pieces that remained intact, except for the hemp rope.

"Ahh!" Sarah shouted in surprise.

"Oh dear, oh dear," murmured Professor Fairlow.

Sarah screamed as her wand exploded. She then looked around. The smoke had stopped, but the entire classroom was in chaos. Sarah then looked down right in front of the shattered pieces of Jiboom's wand.

"no... this is chloe's wand,"

"the stick is broken..."

Professor Fairlow then touched Sarah's shoulder.

"It's okay dear, this can still be fixed, only the hemp rope is broken," he said in a whisper.

The professor then directed Sarah's hand to approach the magic wand.

"Look, how we witches fix it," he said softly.

With the texura spell, the pieces of the stick then move together with the hemp rope, then come together until they are whole again.

"Professor, why did this stick just break?" asked Sarah in confusion.

"I don't think it's a fatal damage, Miss Beverley, it's just that the connecting cord isn't strong enough for the magic," said the professor kindly.

The professor then asked Sarah to stand up.

"A Coturnix wand that isn't connected like this will probably be able to withstand that magic quite well," he continued with a thin smile.

"Thank you, Professor Fairlow," Sarah said softly. "Next time, I'll show Chloe that spell," Sarah continued in a whisper.

"Chloe? Ah, that girl... so you recognize her?" asked Professor Gloria curiously.

"Yes," Sarah answered slowly.

Professor Fairlow then smiled broadly, he then whispered, "I'm glad you two know each other. Because I sometimes care about him,"

"Chloe gave me this wand because I didn't have one before, and she was here to make one for me," Sarah said softly, smiling softly.

"Good, ask him to make you a nice wand," said Professor Fairlow kindly.

"Okay, professor," Sarah replied warmly.

Then from outside the classroom, Chloe's voice was heard screaming, calling Sarah's name.

"Sarah, where are you?" Chloe called quietly.

"I'm coming!" Sarah shouted in a high tone.

Sarah immediately said goodbye to Professor Fairlow and left the herbology classroom. Chloe was waiting outside, carrying wood and carving tools from her closet.

"Sarah, why are you in herbology class?" Chloe asked, confused.

"I was just watching the lesson in class, then I was invited by Professor Fairlow to learn an amazing spell," Sarah answered casually.

Chloe then immediately placed her items on the table carefully. Starting from the chisel, carving knife, pieces of wood, to the stick that Chloe had once made which was connected with hinges to form animal legs.

"I'll make a magic wand for you soon," Chloe said seriously.

"Did you do it right here?" asked Sarah, surprised.

Chloe then smiled proudly, "Yes, because I like this place,"

"Professor Fairlow said you should make a nice wand for me," Sarah muttered teasingly.

"I'll make you a col-class wand..." Chloe tried to remember, "columba," she said firmly.

"Is there a difference?" asked Sarah curiously.

"simply put, it depends on how strong the wand is at holding the big magic." chloe then sighed,

"I've gathered the materials, it's time to make the wand," Chloe said seriously.

"Do you make wands often, Chloe?" Sarah asked curiously.

"Of course, but the durability of the stick is also determined by the suitability of the wood," Chloe said, her voice drawing out.

Chloe then began working by holding the wooden bar to an iron stand that would hold the wood in place.

Chloe then stepped back and pointed her wand at the chisel in front of her, Chloe said the spell in a firm tone: Aeremiosus.

"What spell is that?" Sarah asked in awe.

"I can make other objects fly with this spell," Chloe replied smiling.

then Chloe swung her wand again and used the second spell, Movetur Phantasia.

"That spell... was also used by Jade," Sarah said, her eyes widening.

"Hold still, Sarah," Chloe said seriously, her hands shaking, "I have to be careful here,"

"Okay," Sarah replied.

Chloe sculpted carefully, forming an increasingly beautiful curve. After a while, the wand's body was complete, with a beautiful rippled curve.

"I've finished the carving, do you like it?" Chloe asked Sarah.

Sarah then noticed the shape of the stick. It was the color of a bean, and there were three indentations on each side. "Aye, but is it ready to use yet?" Sarah asked impatiently.

"Not yet, I need to install the secret module," Chloe said with an amused smile.

"What module is that?" asked Sarah curiously.

"This is a secret I can't possibly tell you," Chloe grinned slightly.

Chloe then took a green metal ring and attached it to the head of the black spare handle made of Marqouis wood. Then she attached the stick she had carved to the ring and its handle.

"Do you know Marqouis wood?" Chloe asked teasingly, and Sarah shook her head.

"No, but someone named Marqouis once said bonjour to me," Sarah said flatly.

"Marqouis is a tree that grows in swamps, I took the wood from that tree," Chloe said casually.

"So, marqouis wood is a tree that grows in swamps," Sarah muttered.

Chloe then applied wax to the almost finished wand and carefully placed it back in its holder.

"Is it ready to use?" Sarah asked impatiently, her feet nearly jumping off the ground.

"No Sarah... wait until the wax dries," Chloe said teasingly.

"But, do you want to give your own wand an epithet name?" Chloe continued.

"Why give it a name?" asked Sarah, a little confused.

"Just give it, all witches do that," Chloe said trying to convince Sarah.

Sarah fell silent and then lowered her head, thinking of a good name for her staff. Sarah also remembered her past experience when she was introduced to a warship.

"sovereigh II," Sarah replied in a mumble.

"cool, you sound like a marine fan too," chloe said smiling.

Sarah returned Chloe's smile. She then nodded slowly.

"I heard it from my friend, Hayley," he muttered softly.

Chapter 6: The Changing Form of Water

After a while, a black Morris car slowly drove under the trees, along a small, dark brick road. Inside was a girl with neatly styled, curly hair, white at the front and brown at the back.

The girl then took a pack of chewing gum that was tucked under the passenger seat and ate it casually.

As the car approached the gatehouse, which was quite a distance from the castle, it came to a screeching halt as the headmaster stood in front of the gate, blocking the entrance. He had a birdcage-like beard and long, horn-like eyebrows. His full name was James van Duphont.

The girl immediately got out of the car and then approached the professor with an annoyed expression.

"Why did the professor... stop my car?" Adelina asked while still chewing her gum.

"I saw Malcolm walking away earlier, he said he was sent by the Rosesmith children to buy apple jam at Fort Greatica," Professor Duphont then immediately got to his question, "Do you know anything?"

"No," Adelina answered at length. "I just got back from my mother's birthday party," Adelina replied casually.

"Aren't you worried about the flower jam made by the pixies suddenly disappearing from the school kitchen?" Professor Duphont asked in a whisper.

"Wha- what! Oh Heavens!" she shouted in surprise. "I have to get to the kitchen, but why are you still standing here!" Adelina asked, annoyed.

Professor van Duphont then immediately spoke firmly, "There is no parking space inside the school, if you still bring that car, there might be an alchemist who gets lost inside the school!"

"Good, why not just a lost philosopher come here?" Adelina asked teasingly.

"That..."

Before the professor could finish his sentence, Adelina immediately approached the gate, which slowly opened for her. The car then reversed and turned to the side to reverse direction.

"See you professor, I need to find out why the ingredients disappeared from the kitchen!" Adelina said in a high tone.

"You silly girl," muttered Professor von Duphont.

Elsewhere, on the edge of the racetrack, Sarah placed one of her right shoes in the middle of the clearing. She then prepared her new wand with a delighted expression and attempted to make the shoe fly with the spell Chloe had used.

"Okay, I'll practice," Sarah mumbled.

"Movetur Phantasia," he said, pointing his wand.

Sarah's wand glowed. A small spark appeared, and her shoes began to spin as Sarah made small movements with her wand.

Sarah tried the second spell, aeremiosus, a spell that can make objects float in the air. Her shoes began to rise high in the air, but only reached a height of four feet.

Then another student came and joined in saying Aeremiosus near Sarah, "Aeremiosus," he said in an ignorant tone.

"Aaa- what happened!" said Sarah in surprise, she became alarmed to see her own shoe floating 180 feet high, almost matching the height of the school castle tower.

"Exhale," the naughty child continued with another spell.

Then Sarah's shoe fell off, as if it had lost its air. Sarah quickly picked it up and turned to the student.

He saw the student with light brown hair standing in the schoolyard holding his wand. His name was none other than Bruce Avaleaf.

Bruce wore a similarly carmine-red cloak, but with a second layer and yellow and white feathers that resembled chicken feathers. He smiled kindly at Sarah.

"Did you blow my shoes away?" Sarah asked, her eyebrows lowered.

"Yeah, you were the new student this morning, right? I could have dropped it on your head if that Biora Barbedswan hadn't shown up," Bruce said with a mischievous face.

"Why don't you do that?" Sarah asked with an annoyed frown.

"Because according to legend, Barbedswan is the story of a princess who became a thorny swan who always helped humans in the lake of darkness," Bruce answered casually, "And the witch I liked in the past also had one, lucky you," he continued.

"What's your name anyway?" Sarah asked, putting her shoes back on.

"I'm Bruce Avalaef, a member of The Lions Guardia, that's part of Rosesmith's honorary students," he said proudly.

"Get yourself trained if you're interested in that place too, we lost a member," Bruce said with a grin.

"No, I think I like Sylphine," Sarah said spontaneously.

"Okay, but you still have to train yourself," Bruce said with a thin look.

"Why?" asked Sarah confused.

"Because, if you are asked by Rosesmith's students to look for something in the Woolymoon forest or any other place, you must be ready to face the monsters there, including..."

Bruce then thought for a moment, "Including a monster that can stick a corpse to a cave wall until it rots!" he shouted.

Sarah raised her head and said seriously, "Okay, I understand."

"Good luck Sylphine girl," Bruce said laughing.

The two then parted ways, with Bruce heading towards the Gemina door, while Sarah returned to the garden to meet Chloe. There, Chloe was sitting in front of a potion basin, pouring a red bottle of solution into the potion. Beside Chloe was a dwarf child reading a book that looked very large in his hands.

"According to the book we were looking for earlier, the muscle strengthening potion: this book said that we should put the dye from rowan berries into a bowl of just a cup," said the dwarf slowly.

"Hey Chloe," Sarah called out, coming closer.

"Hi Sarah, let me introduce you to a dwarf girl named Douisy," Chloe said quietly.

Douisy is a beautiful dwarf with very white hair and flat glasses. She speaks in a hoarse voice. She also has large blue eyes.

"Hi, Sarah. I'm Douisy Amarlilyse, I'm the child of a family of ordinary dwarves," said Douisy kindly.

"Hey, why are you guys making potions?" Sarah asked curiously.

"They say it was once drunk by the dwarves while collecting rocks," said Douisy, focusing on his book.

"They use those rocks for carpentry in the Majisca region," Chloe said, supporting them.

"Um, then on page 245... it says to withstand the heat, we need to make a heatless articulation potion," Douisy said quietly.

On the other hand, the potion that Chloe made started to emit thick smoke, Chloe immediately stopped the fire under the pan.

"Don't try the tempesio spell," whispered Douisy.

Chloe quickly poured some water on the stove until the fire was extinguished. Then, she smiled mischievously at Douisy.

Chloe turned to Sarah and started talking, "How was your practice, Sarah?"

"I managed to get the shoe to fly, even though it was only three feet high," Sarah replied calmly.

"Oh good, you just have to practice getting used to the power of magic," said Chloe, smiling sincerely.

"Yes, magic is basically a gift that only residents who have lived in Majisca for a long time get," Douisy said casually.

"But Chloe... Bruce said I have to practice, to prepare before being asked by the Rosesmith students..." Sarah shrugged her shoulders.

"Bruce? You've met him, haven't you?" Chloe said, surprised.

"Yes," Sarah replied.

"I suggest you take Professor Whitlowe's remedial class after this afternoon," Douisy said calmly.

Chloe then supported the girl's statement, "Yes, that's true too. Because extra classes are probably more what you need now than dueling," Chloe said with a faint smile.

"Why is there a remedial class at this school?" Sarah asked curiously.

Chloe took a deep breath, "Sarah, you're coming almost at the start of summer, you can catch up on the lessons you missed before next year," she said with a serious expression.

"Okay, I'll be there after the afternoon," Sarah replied with a smile.

"But Chloe... can I use the smoke that comes out of your potion, I want to show you that spell again," Sarah muttered excitedly.

Sarah then looked again at the stick that Chloe made for her, she then continued her words..

"I think, with this new wand from you, I can make a really big steam," Sarah became enthusiastic.

"You're right, though," Chloe said firmly, then continued, "Don't do it here, it's not suitable indoors!"

Chloe immediately stood up and straightened her clothes. She then walked over to Sarah.

"Follow me, we'll try it outdoors with a bigger pot."

"Okay," Sarah replied with a thin smile.

Chloe then turned and the two of them stared at Douisy, who was focused on her book. She occasionally turned the page to read.

"Do you want to come with Douisy?" Chloe asked kindly.

"N-no. I mean, I want to focus on studying this potion now, thank you," Douisy said with a faint smile.

"Okay, send a letter if anything happens," Chloe suggested.

"Okay, Chloe," Douisy replied with a smile.

The two of them then gathered in the Sagitarium field, in the middle of them there was a giant pot boiling herbal concoction with a small fire underneath. The color of the concoction was dark green and it was bubbling with boiling bubbles. There Sarah was then asked to stand a little away from the concoction.

"It would be more efficient here to just make a giant blob," Chloe said casually.

"But Chloe, my abilities are still weak," Sarah whispered.

"It's okay, maybe it'll just be a light mist," Chloe whispered softly.

"Okay... I'll try," Sarah said softly.

Sarah then took a deep breath and immediately prepared to use the spell again, she then swung her wand slowly.

"Look, this is a giant jellyfish. Sculvapor," Sarah said seriously.

The smoke then coalesced, forming a jellyfish with a spherical shell, eight feet long. Its head was round and smooth. Formless streams of smoke flowed through its body.

"How do you get so big?" Sarah asked, muttering.

"Wait a minute, let me help collect smoke for the jellyfish body," Chloe said, hurrying to get her stick.

Chloe's wand was slightly longer than Sarah's, with a petal-like layer at the front of the handle and a module ring that held the handle together. Smoke then gathered around Sarah's jellyfish, causing its head to grow six times its size and develop a very long mane.

"The jellyfish is getting bigger..." Sarah muttered in amazement.

"Hold its shape, otherwise it will turn back into steam," Chloe ordered jokingly.

"Okay!" Sarah shouted seriously.

Sarah then tried to hold the jellyfish in the air with all her might.

"Chloe..." Sarah called softly, "Can we fly this jellyfish to the edge of the sky?" Sarah asked curiously.

"Okay, maybe if we release it in the sky it will become a cloud," Chloe said confidently.

"Okay, let's get it up now," Sarah asked.

"Okay!" Chloe answered seriously.

The two then attempted to fly the jellyfish even higher, surpassing the height of Gervais' tower and casting a small shadow on the ground. Elsewhere, Professor van Duphont gazed with delight at the jellyfish-shaped vapor.

Meanwhile, Adelina also had time to look at him when he was in the front yard of the school, she blew on a piece of chewing gum until it broke near her face.

A trail of steam was seen directly behind the school building. Adelina immediately made her way to the Sagitarium grounds to find out who had turned the steam into jellyfish.

"Well-well, that was a real wizard! Why did you make that?" Adelina shouted, stepping closer.

Chloe then immediately stopped her magic and made the jellyfish turn into a puff of ordinary smoke that slowly disappeared in the air.

"Adelina," Chloe called teasingly.

"I was just helping my friend enlarge the steam animal he made," Chloe continued.

Sarah walked back to Chloe's side.

"Do you want to... try it?" Sarah asked nervously.

"No!" Adelina snapped seriously. "That was a spell for prep school kids; I'm not a kid anymore!" Adelina continued in a high-pitched voice.

Adelina immediately grabbed the whistle hanging from her collar and blew it. The loud sound of the whistle echoed through the air, reaching all the way to the other side of the school.

Adelina then waited for her friends to arrive. After she blew the second whistle, Dorothy and Nancy came running from the corner of the wall, panting. Dorothy immediately stood beside Adelina, while Nancy almost passed Adelina's feet because she was dancing.

"Guys, look who the student is who dares to show off a child's spell in the schoolyard!" Adelina shouted seriously.

"I remember him, he was a new student this morning," Nancy said in a long tone.

"That's not a child's spell, it's magic... you admitted that yourself before," Sarah retorted seriously.

Adelina immediately dropped her smile, her expression now cold. She then walked over to Sarah with a wide gaze.

"What did you say?" he asked in a whisper.

"Adelina, forgive her," Chloe asked, wincing.

Sarah then whispered Adelina's name after hearing it from Chloe.

Adelina walked slowly until she was standing very close to Sarah.

"That's amazing only for ordinary people, aren't you a witch?" Adelina whispered suspiciously.

"And somehow your nose resembles someone I used to compete with," Adelina then sighed, "at summer camp... right before the war," Adelina continued.

"Sorry, but I've never met a white-haired girl before at camp," Sarah replied casually.

"It's not white hair, only the front part is white," Adelina replied with a smug smile.

"What if that's true, I've never seen a normal person dye their hair like you," Chloe said spontaneously.

"Yeah, like a color flaw," Sarah muttered softly.

Adelina then immediately shouted, "Don't comment on hair again! This time I won't suspect you,"

Sarah then swallowed her saliva, she saw how Adelina stepped back then suddenly smiled broadly then stopped quickly.

"Look how the expert uses the shape-making spell!" Adelina shouted spontaneously,

"Nancy, Dorothy help me!" he ordered.

Adelina immediately whispered to her two friends and stood six feet in front of the giant pot. Dorothy and Nancy, understanding the situation, also stood in a triangle formation.

"This will be more amazing than you think," Adelina said teasingly.

"Hmm- I doubt that!" Chloe said, raising her chin.

The three girls then chanted the Limpius Formatus together, their voices echoing throughout the courtyard. From within the jar, a large ball of water emerged, floating in the air. Sarah stared in shock.

"Let me change the shape of the ball," said Adelina quickly.

Adelina then quickly shook her wand slowly. Her movements caused the water ball to move, eventually forming a beautiful flower stalk. The flower then exploded and transformed into a flying canary, then a dolphin. The animals appeared to be moving, but in reality, they remained in the same place.

"Look, O child of Sylphine, this is the power of a powerful wizard!" said Adelina proudly.

"Try catching the ball, new kid!" Adelina shouted laughing.

Adelina then threw the ball to Dorothy, who countered by pushing the ball to Nancy before it could actually hit her. Nancy then redirected the ball to Adelina, and that's when Adelina started throwing the ball at Sarah.

Sarah then swung her stick, but it was no use. Water immediately hit her arms and body. Sarah immediately covered her face with her hands.

The Rosemith children then burst out laughing after seeing what had happened to Sarah.

"Hahaha, try drying your clothes Sylphine!" Adelina shouted loudly.

"Don't waste it with water," Nancy advised with a grin.

"Too bad it's not water anymore," Dorothy whispered.

"You guys are cruel, why did you do that!" Chloe shouted at the three of them.

The three of them then walked away from the field.

"Where are you guys going?" Chloe asked protesting.

"We have to go because something is missing in the kitchen!" Adelina shouted seriously.

"And unfortunately, Edith is unreliable..." Dorothy muttered with a straight face.

"Why trust that potato chip lover!" Nancy said casually.

Meanwhile, Sarah was soaked by the water that fell on her, she felt the heat of the water spreading over her body, and her skin began to turn red.

"Sarah, how are you!" Chloe asked worriedly.

"I feel hot," Sarah replied, running her hand over her skin.

"Calm down, your skin is hot oh..." Chloe then panicked.

"Healsana Vulnus!" he shouted, immediately pointing his wand at Sarah's skin.

Sarah then fell silent and tried to feel her skin again.

"How are you now?" Chloe asked tensely.

"What spell did you use!" Sarah replied in a long voice, "My skin is so itchy now!" she continued.

"We need Mr. Chandler's help!" Chloe muttered quickly.

"Who is Mr. Chandler?" Sarah asked in a high voice.

"He's the one in charge of the treatment room, we have to ask him for help," Chloe said quickly.

"Okay..." Sarah whispered.

Sarah and Chloe then quickly made their way into the castle through the columns. The infirmary was on the third floor, not far from the school's main staircase. There, Sarah was immediately assisted by Mr. William Chandler, who immediately assessed her condition.

Mr. Chandler examined the reddened skin on Sarah's arm with a magnifying glass, looking at each part carefully.

"So is it really because of the hot water?" Chandler asked curiously.

"Yes, Adelina, Rosesmith's apprentice doused Sarah with potion water," Chloe replied nervously.

Mr. Chandler then opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, then he closed it again, "Ah this... forget it. I'm not going to judge how bad this is,"

Mr. Chandler then approached the cabinet shelves in his room and opened the glass shelf window that was shaped like butterfly wings.

"I'll give you some skin moisturizer, it will heal the burn slowly," he said calmly.

"Thank you, Mr. Chandler," Sarah murmured with a smile.

"Don't worry, I'll be the witness, about the pouring of this potion," said Mr. Chandler while holding Sarah's shoulder.

Mr. Chandler then stood up and walked back to his seat. Chloe then walked over and sat down next to Sarah.

"They're really too much, luckily it's just herbal water," Chloe said annoyed.

"Chloe..." Sarah murmured, "I think I'm starting to remember who that girl used to be," Sarah murmured softly.

"Really, what do you remember?" Chloe asked curiously.

"Yeah, I remember, at the campsite in Moorland 3 years ago, my friend Sticky had a fight with that girl," Sarah muttered.

"She wore a magenta crown and cape and her hair was brown. She tried to snatch the bogbean paper flower from Sticky until it shattered," Sarah continued in a whisper.

Chloe listened to Sarah's story intently, occasionally looking out the window and then back at Sarah.

"I'm sure it's the same person, who else could it be if not him," Sarah said, her voice rising.

"But Adelina in your story has all brown hair, right?" Chloe asked quietly.

"Yes..." Sarah replied.

"Maybe there's not enough evidence to say the person at the campsite was Adelina, maybe Nellie, Nico, or Iddy," Chloe said spontaneously.

"Chloe... her name was Adelina back then," Sarah said firmly, immediately standing up.

"Maybe you shouldn't think about it now, there are still many other friends at this school who are not like Adelina!" Chloe smiled kindly.

"Thank you Chloe..." Sarah said softly.

The treatment room had a large window with a pivoting window in the center, shaped like a large dragonfly. From outside the window, a Eurasian eagle owl appeared, holding an arrow with a piece of paper tucked inside. The eagle then entered the treatment room and dropped the arrow in front of Chloe.

"Okay, what is it this time!" Chloe asked quickly.

Chloe then took the arrow and read the contents of the paper.

Save your friend, at Witchmother's Frog

"This appears to be an emergency message," Chloe said nervously.

"What's the emergency?" Sarah asked curiously.

"It means my friend is in the swamp and needs help," Chloe then sighed, she then said hurriedly, "I have to help him immediately! See you Sarah!"

Whooot

Chloe immediately ran out of the treatment room, while Sarah remained there, confused. The owl then let out a long hoot before finally jumping up to the pivot window and flying through the air. Sarah then spoke to Mr. Chandler, who was still in the room.

"Mr. Chandler, why does this school have an owl?" Sarah asked nervously.

"Those were Eurasian owls, they are used by students," Mr. Chandler answered hoarsely.

Mr. Chandler then leaned over and whispered to Sarah.

"They serve as a communication system in this school, making things easier without the need for excessive magic. The bird that came here earlier was carrying an emergency message from its owner," he whispered softly.

"That's cool..." Sarah praised, her eyes widening.

"Thank you Mr. Chandler, I'll be going," Sarah said quietly.

"Be careful, may you be safe," said Mr. Chandler gently.

After their conversation, Sarah left the treatment room, carrying the moisturizer Mr. Chandler had given her. In the school kitchen, Adelina rummaged through the cabinets and small cupboards nearby, looking everywhere for the flower essence.

Nearby, Dorothy and Nancy were also looking for him, they were looking at the table and the spice rack on the wall.

"Oh no, the flower essence is completely gone!" Adelina said nervously.

"Who do you think took it?" Nancy asked casually.

"I don't think so Lois, she promised us not to use that jam," Dorothy muttered.

"Of course not him!" Adelina shouted as she stood up.

On top of the cupboard, a dwarf girl from Sylphine then woke up in her sleep beside the flour. She then watched the three of them from the top of the cupboard.

"What are you doing up there, Giselle?" Adelina asked with a grin.

"Oh Adelina, I was sleeping after our team Ruins Rocket practiced... I thought it was still free time," the dwarf muttered weakly.

"Do you know where the flower essence jam is in the kitchen, did you take it?" Adelina asked at length.

"No... I've been sleeping since practice at eight in the morning," Giselle said weakly.

"You can't lie," Nancy threatened in a whisper.

"I'm not lying, I was really sleeping," Giselle said defensively.

"Okay Giselle, give me some time to guess who the culprit is," said Adelina with a cynical look.

Adelina then immediately stepped forward, stamping her feet, she walked around Dorothy and Nancy.

"Nancy, if the perpetrator is Sylphine..." Adelina muttered coldly,

"I will definitely punish him."

"We're holding him in the toilet!" Nancy shouted.

"By Jove!" Adelina shouted, "But my idea is better Nancy, how about we tie him up in the pixie's nest and play with the little creature," Adelina continued, grinning.

"That's a great idea, Adelina," Dorothy said in praise.

The three of them then left the kitchen after not finding the flour they were looking for.

"Adelina wants to punish the child who stole the flower jam..." Giselle muttered softly, then she was surprised.

"Ah! I have to tell all the students right away!" she continued frailly.

The dwarf, who had been sleeping next to the flour, climbed down from the cupboard and ran out of the kitchen. The wooden door creaked softly after he left.

Chapter 7: The Flower Jam Thief

Sarah walked down the school stairs and down the long hallway. In the hallway, Sarah overheard a rumor about an incident that had occurred in Rosesmith's kitchen, which Sylphine's students were discussing.

"Do you know what happened in Rosesmith's kitchen this morning!" the student shouted nervously.

"I know because I heard it... someone stole their flower jam," Robby answered calmly.

Sarah walked past the conversation, but as she approached the school painting near Gemina's door, she also heard students telling the same story as before, such as Clarissa talking to Anna while walking down the school hallway.

"Giselle said Adelina would punish Sylphine's students severely," Clarissa said calmly.

"I hope there won't be any major problems," Anna became worried.

Sarah eventually met Jade again who was talking to Oscar near the second Gemina door.

"Hey, Jade!" Sarah called, waving.

Sarah walked closer to them both.

"Hi to you too, Sarah," Jade said casually.

"Hey, Sarah," Oscar called.

"Who is this?" Sarah asked, turning to Oscar.

"He's Oscar, my friend," Jade replied.

"Oscar Flint. I'm Jade's friend," Oscar replied casually.

"So you're the one Miss Lannsoir was telling me about... she said you originally knew nothing about the magical world," Sarah said softly.

"It's a long story, Sarah," Oscar said in a high voice.

"I told the newspaper about my discovery of the civet-backed rat," Oscar then continued his story.

"Then... suddenly I was approached by several mysterious people," he said, Sarah listened tensely.

"But they suddenly called me part of the witch line, I really didn't expect that at that time!" said Oscar with a relieved face.

"You're lucky, Oscar. That's why you're at this school," Jade said in praise.

"I thought my memory would be wiped because of that rat," Oscar said with a sigh.

Sarah then turned to several students who were still talking about the kitchen problem and Adelina, she looked at them in confusion.

"What happened, what happened to the kitchen and Adelina?" Sarah asked curiously.

"The fruit jam that Pixie usually only collects once a year has disappeared from the school kitchen," Oscar explained at length.

"Then why is Adelina angry?" asked Sarah in confusion.

Jade immediately hugged Sarah and looked around, then whispered softly.

"You should know, if Adelina says she will punish Sylphine, it means she is serious," Jade whispered.

"Jade, why do you think he's mad about jam?" Sarah asked in return.

"Since it's a flavoring, only the Rosesmith dormitory buffet is allowed to use it," Jade replied quietly.

"Maybe that's why Adelina was so quick to accuse Sylphine," Oscar guessed briefly.

"Then what can we do?" Sarah asked softly.

"Nothing... that's Rosesmith's dormitory business," Oscar replied casually.

"Maybe you could join Professor Whitlowe's remedial class," Oscar continued.

"Where is the remedial class?" Sarah asked with a twinkling of an eye.

"The class is usually held in the Sagitarium Field, only we have to pick up Professor Whitlowe at his hut first," Oscar replied casually.

"Okay, I'll do it later," Sarah said softly.

That afternoon, Sarah walked along the wall with its small columns. She then climbed the rocks. On the hill, Strawberry Hut stood just to the right of the Amphitheater. She glanced at the tall sign directly in front of her, which spelled out the names Strawberry Hut, Amphitheater, and Brighford Castle.

In the courtyard of Strawberry Shack, Professor Richard Whitlowe sat with his owl, Pruna. The professor had thin black hair and a thin beard lining his face. Despite his sharp nose, he had a wistful gaze. He wore a gray sweater under a simple jacket.

The Professor combed the feathers of his owl, Pruna, who was in front of him and sang in a low voice, a song called The White Cliffs of Dover.

"Tomorrow... you'll see."

Sarah approached slowly. The Professor then stopped singing, he examined Sarah from her shoes to her hairpin, a beautiful girl from Sylphine who looked unfamiliar to him.

"Aye, are you a new student, how come I've never seen you around?" he said in a low tone.

"Yes, I just came to this school," Sarah answered nervously.

"What is your name?" the Professor asked casually.

"Sarah Beverley," Sarah replied.

"That's a nice name. I'm Professor Richard Whitlowe, you can call my class broom class or gym class. So, what's the business here?" the Professor asked matter-of-factly.

"Professor, I haven't had a chance to study my first-year lessons yet, so can I take extra classes?" Sarah asked calmly.

The professor brought his head close to Sarah's face and stared at her intently,

"Hey, how did you know I have extra classes?"

"From a friend-" Sarah's words were then cut off by the Professor's words.

"Just kidding! You can come to my class with the other kids," the Professor replied with a big smile.

"Thank you, Professor, I thought I'd fallen behind in my first year!" Sarah replied confidently.

"Of course not if you take my class," Professor Whitlowe replied casually.

Professor Whitlowe then extended his hand and invited Sarah to shake hands, and Sarah shook his hand confidently. Three other children then arrived, Oscar, Clarissa, and Evelyn.

The three of them shouted together for Professor Whitlowe.

"Good afternoon, Professor Whitlowe!" the three of them shouted.

Professor Whitlowe then released his handshake and turned towards his three students.

"Good afternoon, children, you are just in time," he said praisingly, "Now let's gather at the Sagitarium Field," said the Professor while pushing Sarah's body, he also whistled for Pruna to come with him.

Pruna then flew into the air, leaving a soft shadow on the ground. As she walked alongside the professor, Sarah stared at the owl curiously.

"So cool!" Sarah said in awe.

"Professor, is there anything owls can do besides communicate?" Sarah asked curiously.

"Are you curious? Actually, they are used by magicians as a signal of their presence through the air," said Professor Whitlowe in a long tone.

"I think the most useful thing was when the birds helped the witch pick up small items," Oscar said, interrupting the conversation.

Sarah then smiled happily.

"I want a bird too!" Sarah said, her eyes wide.

"You can buy that at the market, Robby bought a seagull at that time," said Oscar briefly.

"Yes, many sell it, like in the market in Fort Greatica, or the town of Stanburham," the Professor answered confidently.

"Okay, I'll be there later," Sarah said excitedly.

The five of them then gathered at Sagitarium Field. The field was located directly to the left of the school building, and trees surrounded it, forming a semicircular green field.

In the Sagitarium Field, there are tables and chairs to help students sit and also serve as a base for the class's subjects. Clarissa and Oscar sit beside Sarah.

Evelyn Lochmore, being the only Rosesmith girl in this place, she sat quietly on a fat sack filled with plant fertilizer and boxes of plant seeds.

Professor Whitlowe then stood in the middle of the field smiling,

"Evelyn, please continue practicing Mutatio Objektalis on small objects," said the Professor kindly.

Evelyn also took out several small items from her bag, such as bottle caps, paper clips, smoking pipes, and safety pins.

"Professor, I think we need to change the material first," Evelyn said in a low voice.

"Evelyn, what are you trying to do with that material?" Professor Whitlowe asked curiously.

"Maybe I can break through a wooden door by turning it into clay!" Evelyn replied seriously.

Then Clarissa Brown looked at the Professor with a wide-eyed expression, despite her pale skin.

Clarissa then spoke calmly,

"Professor... may I read the herbology book first?" He then continued, "I forgot the name of the plant."

"Just read it, Clarissa," replied the Professor with a smile.

All the students then started studying in this remedial class, including Oscar who took a paper full of star maps.

Professor Whitlowe then approached Sarah and gave her a metal plate with the name Circus N Shoe, the Professor leaned over and whispered to Sarah.

"And Sarah, you will learn transmutation as the beginning of your studies," he said with a smile.

"But what should I do, Professor?" Sarah asked seriously.

Professor Whitlowe sighed, "Maybe you can change its shape into a ribbon, actually changing objects is important for wizards, because with spells they can change solid objects into other objects," said Professor Whitlowe in a fragile voice.

"Professor, I don't understand," Sarah said nervously.

The professor then stood up straight, "The point is, just imagine the surface of the metal plate and its shape has changed into a ribbon, that is if you like."

Professor Whitlowe then continued, "Then say Objektalis Mutatio."

"Okay, Professor..."

Sarah breathed a sigh of relief then solemnly pointed her wand at the small metal plate.

"Objectalis Mutatio," Sarah said seriously, trying to focus on the plate.

"Good, keep focused, Sarah, feel the surface," said the Professor encouragingly.

"I'm actually confused, how magic can increase the size of something with Objectalis, when it's only to change its contents," said Oscar in a high tone.

"Oscar, that fits the mutatio section, meaning the object has been replaced by another object. Although its size has increased, when it returns to its natural form its size will be normal again," Professor Whitlowe replied calmly.

"Professor," another student called out to the Professor from a distance.

Professor Whitlowe then left Sarah's place to look at his other students, Sarah was still focused on the metal plate in front of her.

After a while, on the ceiling of Brighford School, Chloe flew from Woolymoon Forest on her broom, holding Nivan's hand, who was sitting behind her. The wind blew through their hair, and the broom swayed slightly as they neared their arrival. By then, Nivan's pants were already dirty and wet from the mud in the swamp.

In Nivan's lap was a meastel whose legs were tied with ropes. The creature made a small sound with its slightly dirty fur.

Chloe then turned to the end of the Sagitarium Field, where students were seen studying with Professor Whitlowe.

"Look, it's Sarah Beverley, I think I've become friends with her," Chloe said enthusiastically.

"Then, what should I know?" Nivan asked casually.

"You should be friends with her too, because she's fun," Chloe said in praise.

Nivan then looked down and looked at Sarah, he then narrowed his eyes, seeing the girl with bright blonde hair faintly.

"I'll think about it later," Nivan answered softly.

Chloe smiled proudly, while Nivan looked at Chloe with a half-astonished face.

"Where are we going to get off?" Chloe asked quickly.

"I want to go to the lab right away, I think they really need this animal," Nivan said seriously, hugging the meastel in his lap.

"Okay," Chloe replied shortly.

Chloe quickly flew over the small, pointed tower on the hall's roof and into the open window in the hallway between the kitchen and the laboratory. Nivan quickly got off Chloe's broom and thanked her.

"Thank you... Chloe,"

"There's no need to be shy, because we are now adopted siblings," Chloe said kindly.

Nivan then put the meatel on the floor, the animal was still tied with a rope, it was gray with black ears, hands and back.

"You were the ones who invited me to that house first," Nivan said softly.

"At least you got a new family!" Chloe replied teasingly.

Nivan then fell silent for a moment, "Even so, nothing can replace my old family,"

Nivan reached into his pocket to retrieve the letter, only to find that the paper was already wet. He hastily opened the letter, only to discover that half the ink on the paper had been destroyed by the water, with the water splashing on the letter in circles.

"Ah- Torcall's letter was destroyed before I could read it!" Nivan complained.

"It's your fault for falling," Chloe said quickly.

"This is for you, tell Torcall if the letter is damaged. I have business!" Nivan said hurriedly.

"Why me?" Chloe asked in surprise.

Nivan then quickly handed the letter to Chloe, then picked up the machete from the floor. Chloe stared at him in confusion.

As he was about to reach the laboratory, Nivan saw Adelina, Nancy, and Dorothy in the middle of the hallway. The three of them were standing right in front of Lois and Shirley.

"Do you think it's possible that the disappearance of the flower jam is related to the release of the measles in the lab?" Adelina asked suspiciously.

"Yeah, if you think meastel can steal it," Lois replied half-jokingly.

"I'm serious, Lois, that's absolutely impossible!" Adelina said in denial, "So do you know who removed the mastel?" Adelina continued.

Lois was silent for a moment, then she answered honestly.

"That's Harold, he let the meatball out the window," Lois replied quietly.

"The creature got away by going through the window," Shirley replied.

Nivan then approached them nervously. Adelina frowned as she watched Nivan. Meastel lay quietly in Nivan's arms.

"Excuse me, I've brought a new meastel," Nivan said nervously.

"Good job, Nivan, I'll use that creature to make a potion," Lois said in a spoiled tone.

"Then what will you do with the meat?" Nivan asked quietly.

"Cooked of course, with the apple jam Malcolm bought later!" Shirley replied happily.

"Actually, I feel sorry for Harold," Nivan muttered softly.

"Wait, why do you have to feel sorry, Harold could have stolen the flower jam!" Adelina shouted loudly.

"Yes, that's right!" Dorothy continued defensively.

"Come on guys, let's find that kid!" Adelina ordered seriously.

Adelina, Dorothy, and Nancy parted ways, while Nivan handed the animal to Lois. Lois accepted it with a faint smile and then went into the laboratory with Shirley.

Nivan stood silently in the middle of the hallway, then held his chin.

"Wait, I remembered something!" he muttered in surprise.

Nivan then immediately rushed out of the school, whistling loudly outside. Several owls resting in the tympanum watched Nivan in confusion. A Eurasian owl then flew in, screeching, and approached Nivan.

"Oswin, please look for Harold," Nivan said quietly.

The owl lay motionless on Nivan's arm. Nivan then quickly took a beetle out of his pouch, a wet one.

"Look at what I have, but unfortunately it's dirty,"

The owl immediately snatched the beetle and swallowed it calmly. Oswin then flew high, circling the schoolyard.

After that, Oswin finally found Harold hiding behind the barrels arranged in front of the school warehouse, Harold was pensive alone there.

Harold took out a glass jar he had hidden under his sweater. The jar had a metal wire handle. Inside was a thick, red jam mixed with yellow.

Nivan walked calmly towards Harold, Oswin, the Eurasian owl also perched on the tree.

"Harold, it turns out you were the one who took the jam," Nivan said in a high tone.

"I didn't steal it," Harold said defensively, "I just wanted to punish them, why never share what they want,"

Harold said complainingly, the boy then sighed, he still stared sharply, "Besides, why are you so nice to them?"

Nivan then swallowed his lips and was silent for a moment, Harold still waiting for him patiently.

"Even if they order me, at least they don't ask for what I have," Nivan replied confidently.

"Is that a good idea?" Harold asked, frowning.

"Of course that's a great idea!" Nivan replied in a high voice.

Harold stood in front of Nivan, the wind blowing gently around them. Until Adelina came around the corner of the dormitory building, her screams could be heard in the distance.

"There he is! The flower jam thief!" Adelina shouted loudly, pointing at Harold.

"Aaaa- crickey!" Harold screamed in panic.

Harold and Nivan immediately looked at Adelina who started running quickly towards the two of them.

"Stay there, Sylphie!" Adelina shouted.

"What should we do, we'll get a bad reputation!" Harold said quickly.

"Run!" Nivan shouted loudly.

"Really! Why?" asked Harold in confusion.

"Trust me, just run, hurry!" said Nivan immediately pulling Harold's arm.

Harold and Nivan immediately fled towards the west of the school building, Adelina continued to chase them, while behind them Dorothy and Nancy followed.

"Come on, Dorothy!" Nancy shouted.

"I've tried..." Dorothy complained.

"They actually dare to fight back!" Adelina complained in annoyance.

Nivan pulled Harold to quickly turn left, they passed the altar for the griffeloise ball that had long been unused and a small bridge with a stone moat.

"You said as long as they don't ask for anything, then why should we run away!" asked Harold in panic.

"Aren't you afraid of the naughty stamp?" Nivan asked seriously.

"Of course I'm scared!" Harold shouted anxiously.

"We have to ask Chloe or someone for help!" Nivan said breathlessly.

"Stop! Jam thief!" Adelina shouted in a high voice.

As they ran into the Sagitarium Field, Sarah lost focus due to the commotion. Several students in the remedial class also noticed Nivan and Adelina. The ribbon on Sarah's desk appeared to be made of metal rather than cloth.

"Oh dear, what has happened between those students," asked Professor Whitlowe worriedly.

"Stop them!" Adelina shouted seriously.

"Someone help us!" Harold said in panic.

Nivan immediately turned around, he saw Nancy was only a few steps away from touching him, he then immediately turned to Harold.

"Harold, give me that jar of jam!" Nivan ordered.

"Okay!" Harold immediately handed the jam jar to Nivan.

Nivan then immediately extended the bottle into the sky and called his owl. Oswin immediately came and screeched in the air. The Eurasian owl then grabbed the wire handle on the bottle with both feet. Nivan immediately let go of the bottle and let Oswin fly so high.

Then finally Dorothy and Nancy managed to catch Nivan and Harold, the four of them almost fell to the ground.

"Awww! That hurts!" Harold screamed.

"You're caught now, Nivan!" Nancy said.

Meanwhile, Adelina saw that the fruit jam had been carried away by a Eurasian owl. She then drew her magic wand from her belt and aimed at the owl.

"In a dogfight, you must never show your back!" Adelina said coldly, "Gelusendius!"

A light that chilled the air then shot high toward the owl. Oswin dodged it by spinning around. He then flew over the school roof and out of sight.

"Damn!" Adelina screamed in annoyance.

Adelina then glanced at Nivan and Harold, who had been caught by their two friends. She then turned back to the roof.

"You two please keep looking after them!" Adelina said seriously.

Adelina immediately ran into the school castle until she reached the inner courtyard. There, she saw Oswin standing on the window ledge, his left foot resting on the ledge while his right foot held the bottle wire.

Meanwhile a dorm leader Rosesmith watched Adelina curiously after the girl started walking irritably.

"You have to return it," Adelina said seriously.

Adelina then ran towards the window where the bird had landed, she tried to reach the bottle hanging in front of the shelf.

Oswin immediately shifted to the right when Adelina tried to reach for him. Annoyed, Adelina tried again, faster, but Oswin immediately shifted again. When she tried again, Oswin immediately flew and sat on the other side of the shelf.

A Rosesmith boy taller than Adelina then quickly held out a wire with tassels on the end, distracting Oswin. He calmly took the bottle from the bird's grasp. He was wearing a similarly caramel-colored shoulder robe, with a small Griffin symbol on it and the word "Prefect" written on it.

"Oh dear Adelina, I see you really, really want this bottle," he said dramatically.

He then looked at the writing on the outside of the bottle, "Flower jam?"

"Why can you take it so easily!" asked Adelina angrily.

"It's you, why is it so hard to take it?" Elias asked in a mischievous tone.

Adelina then immediately snatched the jam bottle from Elias, "Give me back the bottle! It's valuable for the Rosesmith students' food!"

"I'd be happy to help you again if you need it," Elias said with a mischievous smile.

"I don't need it!" Adelina replied indifferently.

After the incident, Adelina, Sarah, Nivan, Mr. Chandler, and Harold were gathered in the school boardroom. The room had serene maroon walls and flower-shaped gas lamps adorning the walls.

Before them sat a professor with pale, ornate skin and bright green eyes. Thin silk gloves covered his arms.

She was Professor Beatrice Pemberton, the professor then took her book and checked the students' notes.

"So, Adelina went after Nivan and also Harold because Harold had taken the fruit jam in the kitchen," said the professor calmly.

Sarah and Nivan looked at Professor Pemberton nervously.

"I thought I'd just give one person a naughty stamp, but Adelina seems to need it too," he said softly.

"Why, professor! Why?" Adelina asked, annoyed.

"Because Miss Louise, you have caused Sylphine's student to be injured... you have earned the naughty stamp," he said with a sharp glare.

"But don't worry, because thanks to Nivan's efforts to find the meatballs again and Adelina's efforts to get the jam back, you'll only get a mark deducted!" the professor continued calmly.

"In return, Harold, you still get the stamp," Professor Pemberton said again.

"Umm, okay, one naughty stamp for me," Harold said looking down.

"Wait professor, isn't that unfair?" Nivan asked seriously.

"What's unfair, Nivan!" said Adelina annoyed.

"Harold didn't really wear what he took," Nivan said at length.

"But he let go of Mr. Arkwood's sword," Professor Pemberton replied.

Meanwhile Sarah clutched her knees, she looked down slowly and felt uncomfortable.

"Wait professor," Sarah interrupted, "Mr. Arkwood is right, Harold did that not because he was naughty, but because he wanted the meat of the meat."

Adelina and Harold stared at Sarah in surprise, while Mr. Chandler smiled slowly.

"So, what if Harold was given some meatballs," Sarah suggested.

"How can that be!" Adelina shouted in protest.

"Wait Adelina-" Professor Pemberton interrupted, "Good insight, my dear, the school kitchens don't really have any meatballs for Sylphine, especially after the war,"

The professor then said in a long tone, "If a wizard wants meastel then buy it somewhere else,"

"But what if he doesn't have any money," Nivan said with a thin smile.

"Well then, Harold can have just one meatball." He then sighed, "And Adelina, my dear, I wish you would behave better," said Professor Pemberton with a look of pity.

"I've been fine since I've been at this school!" Adelina answered loudly.

"Thank you, professor," Harold said with a happy smile, "And Sarah..." he whispered.

"You're welcome," Sarah replied, smiling back.

"Good, now go back to school you four," said Professor Pemberton in a gentle tone.

Nivan, Sarah, and Harold immediately walked out of the school boardroom. Adelina approached Sarah and quickly grabbed her robe, pulling Sarah back.

"What are you doing?" Sarah asked in surprise.

"I'm starting to remember you now after what you did to Harold," Adelina whispered.

"You are, Sarah Beverley..." he said with his eyes glaring sharply.

Sarah stared at Adelina tensely, the air around them seemed to stop.

"Luckily, I remember you too, Adelina," Sarah said softly.

Adelina immediately pushed Sarah back. She then smiled faintly.

"How does it feel to meet someone you knew at wizard school again?" she asked, tilting her head.

"Nothing... I feel anything," Sarah answered honestly.

Despite her answer, Sarah felt her back stiffen. Adelina sighed and glared at Sarah angrily, then walked away.

After the incident that afternoon, as the sun set behind Jagonce Hill, the stone bridges connecting several buildings in Brighford began to lower themselves to the ground. Behind the iron railings in the ravine, wheels turned the chains that lowered the bridges.

Chapter 8: Sensing Mana in Divination Class

Three days later, in Hutton Cranswick, a white Vauxhall stopped in front of Sarah's house. Three people got out: one woman wearing a black snood and two men wearing suits and trilby hats.

"Knock on the door James," Percy ordered his friend, Percy was wearing a cream suit.

"Okay, I'll knock," James said calmly.

James immediately climbed the stairs and knocked on the door.

"Hi ma'am..." James called hesitantly, "Sir?"

"Sir," Percy called as well.

"Are you sure Maggie is here?" Eliza asked hesitantly.

"According to the Praesens Foundation, they sent the nanny here Miss," James said calmly.

Percy then idly held the door handle and suddenly the door opened, he then looked at James with a tense face.

"Look James the door is open..." he whispered.

"That means this house is abandoned," James said leaning forward.

"Maybe something happened inside..." Percy guessed seriously.

"Can we go inside the house now?" the woman asked irritably.

Then, across the street, a chubby girl in a Girl Guide uniform came running towards them. She stopped right in front of them, surprising James and Percy. The chubby girl then let out a grand sigh of relief from her running.

"Excuse me, who is this?" Percy asked in a long voice.

"Looks like a member of the Helmsley Girl Guides," Eliza whispered.

"Help!" the girl screamed exhaustedly, "Please don't go into that house," she continued in panic.

The girl was wearing a white shirt and a triangular scarf, with a blue blouse and a plaque next to her chest.

"Wait, why can't we go in?" Percy asked confused.

"Is there a problem Miss?" asked James.

"Maybe you misunderstood us just-"

Before Eliza could finish her sentence, Shirley immediately interrupted hurriedly, "Don't go in there, there's a dragon in there!"

Shirley then immediately covered her mouth, realizing her mistake.

"Dragon! Good heavens," Percy shouted in disbelief.

James and Eliza were both surprised to hear Shirley's spontaneous statement.

"How could there be a dragon in an empty house!" Percy said, his face showing signs that he was about to laugh.

"Ah- I mean, there's private stuff in there, you guys aren't allowed in when the occupants aren't there!" Shirley replied, straightening things out.

Shirley then immediately moved quickly to stand with her back to the door of the house, her hands outstretched to protect the door behind her.

"Really," he said seriously.

"Is it true that there is no one there, what about Miss Haversham's nanny?" Percy asked kindly.

"That's right. We're here to look for that person, Maggie Haversham," Eliza said seriously.

Shirley then fell silent for a moment,

"Who? What does he look like?" Shirley asked curiously.

"She's an old woman, one of her ears is cut off," Eliza answered softly.

"No, I didn't see it," Shirley replied, shaking her head.

"Who is he, and why are you so desperate to find him?" Shirley asked kindly.

"He was actually my old friend, but I lost him, I was afraid something happened to him," Eliza explained.

Then, a Bedford truck passed in front of the road, its noisy engine sound echoing softly through the road. The truck's window opened, and a young woman with ripe, red skin appeared from behind it, also wearing a blue blouse.

"Shirley! Get in the truck, we're going back to the fields," Abigail shouted loudly.

The four of them then looked at the truck together. The four wheels were dirty, and there were straw residue stuck to the mud.

"Sorry Abigail, but I want to talk to these three people," Shirley shouted.

The truck then moved slowly and parked itself at the side of the road, Abigail immediately got out of the truck and approached Shirley and the three people.

"Excuse me, what happened here?" Abigail asked quietly.

Eliza then stepped forward and cleared her throat slowly.

"We came here to look for a nanny named Maggie Haversham, the foundation said she was sent to this home address," Eliza replied kindly.

"But this lady doesn't seem to want us to go inside," Percy said, glancing at Shirley.

Abigail then took a breath and explained calmly.

"You can't go in there, the owner of the house has gone to join the military, and after that there really was no one in the house," Abigail said calmly.

"Really?" Eliza asked in disbelief.

"Of course! I assure you all, even the woman you described is not here, but I will be happy to contact you if I find her," said Shirley with a friendly smile.

"Okay, thanks for letting us know, I'll give you my phone number," Eliza said softly.

Eliza then busily checked her small bag for something. She then handed a piece of paper to Shirley.

"If I may ask," Shirley sighed, "what happened, how did you lose your friend?" Shirley asked nervously.

"Okay, I'll tell you," said Eliza, then she hugged herself.

"He is my friend, we have been friends since we were in the orphanage."

"But he didn't believe in Santa Claus, he told me that the beautiful story didn't really exist. Until one night he was visited by something shaped like soot, the figure only had one horn shaped like a crescent moon. It was the devil, a witch who tried to enter the heart of my friend who no longer believed in goodness."

"That sounds like a serious story- I mean, is it that scary?" Shirley asked with a tense look.

Eliza then sighed, "I have tried to keep Maggie away from that creature, with money from my foster family. I want her to love children..." Eliza slowly smiled softly, "But then she didn't give me any more news," she said ending her story.

"I'm so sorry to hear that, but would you three mind stopping by our farm first? The villagers are harvesting gooseberries," Shirley said with a pitying look.

Eliza then looked at Percy and James.

"What do you think?"

"I don't mind, gooseberries are my favorite. Just like sugar," Percy said casually.

"I'd love to, as long as they also let me eat the fruit straight away," James said with a faint smile.

"Of course," replied Shirley and Abigail.

The four of them then left the yard together and headed to the farmer's house, whose garden surrounded the house. There, the gardeners were relaxing and relaxing. Several scouts were also there, helping with the garden and some in the fields.

The plantation was separated by hedges, and near the house stood a tall, dull-colored barn. After the two cars parked in front of the plantation, Shirley and Abigail immediately invited the three people to sit with the plantation workers. There, the three of them were offered juice and simple food from the landowner.

Then, after things had calmed down, Shirley quietly went to her barn. In a part of the roof that was not visible from the road, there was a gaping hole. Shirley climbed up to the attic using a wooden ladder that was placed there, and she climbed the ladder carefully.

Inside the attic, Ash was already busy with the letters he had sent her. Threads and unwrapped letters were scattered across the floor.

Ash took one letter and compared it with the other letters, he read the letter seriously.

"Well, it looks like something's been busy here," Shirley said jokingly, "What are those letters, has something happened?" Shirley asked further.

Meanwhile, from behind the wooden box, the head of a large white swan emerged. It watched Ash and Shirley curiously.

"Yes, something has happened, the Quaestors are asking me about Miss Haversham who entered the majisca, they said she has met with the ealdor," Ash said hurriedly, his ears drooping.

"Ah, that's a coincidence!" Shirley said, clapping her hands, "because at Mr. Beverley's house there were people trying to find Maggie."

"So?" Ash asked.

"And apparently, Maggie doesn't believe in Santa Claus, so she's visited by a sooty demon. Is that a surprising fact?" Shirley asked, her eyes wide.

"That's not surprising, really," Ash replied quickly.

"Why?" Shirley asked, her expression changing.

"Ordinary people call what they can't think of a demon, and wizards know it's an ealdor. That's why I call Maggie dangerous," Ash said calmly.

"Dangerous?" Shirley said lowering her eyebrows, "But one of his friends is desperate to find him, is that dangerous?"

"It depends on what risks he will face later," Ash said softly.

"If Miss Haversham is dangerous, why haven't you taken care of her since she first entered the majisca?" Shirley asked in confusion.

Ash then stuttered "I-it's because I'm j-just a boonie," Ash said in panic.

"You're a bad luck alchemist boonie bunny," Shirley said teasingly.

"Don't joke, I used to be a wizard!" Ash replied annoyed.

Ash proceeded to open the final letter, still sealed with wax. It was written by Charles Ashcroft, and Ash quickly read it to the end.

*To Ash, I saw them at the docks in Scotland, and they were discussing going to the Isle of Gomond, I don't think I can follow them any further, please continue the rest.*

"Isle of Gomond," Ash muttered, lowering his eyebrows.

"That sounds like the name of a Scottish island," said Shirley quickly.

"Maggie is there. But does anyone have any history about the island?" Ash said, raising his ears.

"I don't know," Shirley answered quickly.

"Maybe I should send someone to the island," Ash said softly.

Shirley then opened her mouth when she heard Ash's words.

"Haah, why don't you just do it yourself?" he asked confusedly.

Ash started to think of the names of the wizards he had known.

"Maybe I can ask Arthur Finnegan for help."

"Or maybe Charles Fletcher, your father!" Ash said in a high voice.

"My father!" Shirley shouted in surprise.

"No, just do it yourself Ash Dwellers!" Shirley glared at the boonie.

Shirley then looked at the goose sitting behind the box, she immediately ordered the goose to walk towards her.

"Come here sweet bird, Athea."

The swan began to stand, showing its sturdy orange legs, the swan began to approach slowly.

honk!

"Athea, please escort this Dwellers to the Isle of Gomond!" Shirley ordered seriously.

honk!

Athea then let out a loud screech and confidently charged towards Ash, causing Ash to panic. Athea pushed Ash onto her back, then spread her large wings.

"Wooow!!" Ash screamed.

When the swan started to fly, Ash immediately shouted to Shirley.

"Wait! But we don't know where the Isle of Gomond is yet!" Ash shouted in a high voice.

"Go visit the library! Right Athea?" Shirley said teasingly.

The goose then nodded slowly towards Shirley.

honk

Athea immediately flew quickly towards the North, Ash immediately held onto the swan's body and then corrected his position, his feathers were scattered by the strong wind.

"Wait, what if we are seen by humans!" Ash said worriedly.

hrronk

The geese's bodies then produced thick smoke and enveloped their bodies, their gray color matching the color of the sky, making them almost invisible from underground.

"That was a really cool illusion spell, kid!" Ash praised weakly.

Athea continued to fly up to the very high sky, with smoke rising and imitating the color of the gray sky.

As the two creatures flew through the thick clouds, at Brighford School, Sarah sat pensively at her desk, visible from the fourth-floor window. Sarah stared out at the light gray sky beyond the rectangular glass window. The room she was currently in was Divination class. A class that taught students how to see hidden things, whether in places or people.

The classroom walls are painted olive green and dark brown. Twenty-four student desks are arranged in rows. The classroom door is located on a semicircular column decorated with glass and white walls.

Sarah opened a secondhand book with a torn cover, revealing dark orange rips. The book was filled with someone else's writing, a book Harold had given her for free as a token of gratitude. She took a quill and drew two socks on the paper.

The pen ink soaked into the paper and Sarah gave the two socks names, Bremen and Bruth, the names of two socks that might still be at home.

Sarah rested her cheek on her hand and let out a tired sigh. Meanwhile, one by one, the students were sitting in their chairs, talking to each other, like Anna, who was having a serious conversation with Clarissa, and Chloe, who was quietly carving wood, her hands hidden under her desk.

"Bruth and Bremen, do you know why Adelina Louise is in this school?

"Is he there to bother me?" Sarah asked the picture of the two socks.

Sarah then voiced the two socks,

"I'm sure Bremen wouldn't think that way Sarah," Bruth said casually.

"Sarah, why don't you just enjoy this school, it's like a wonderland," Bremen said.

"I really want to do that, because this place really makes me a witch," Sarah said seriously.

Sarah then turned to the window beside her and looked towards the sagittarium field, there she saw Professor Fairlow herding a herd of onion-shaped mandrake mosquilia to roll towards the school.

"Like a mandrake that moves like a ball..." Sarah said, imitating Bremen's voice.

Sarah sat back in her chair, she looked at her drawing again.

"Do you think the frog princess would be happy living here?" Sarah asked teasingly.

"I mean Adelina, she used to call herself the frog princess," Sarah continued, frowning.

Then, through the classroom door, Professor Pemberton walked gracefully. She wore a teal cocktail dress with delicately folded shoulders. On her hands were blue gloves with gold stripes. Professor Pemberton's short hair had a curly top, while the hair behind her ears was curled more neatly than the rest of her hair.

"Good morning, class," said Professor Pemberton kindly.

Sarah immediately turned the page of her book and looked at the professor.

"Today our Divination class has a valued guest," said Professor Pemberton softly.

Dory entered the classroom pushing a wooden cart with a baby on it. The baby was wearing a faded yellow and blue beanie, and underneath it was a soft cloth that served as a seat. The baby's voice broke the silence of the classroom.

"Yes, yes,"

"Look baby!" Nancy shouted.

"Hey baby clack," Chloe called as she put her chisel back on the table.

"Who's that baby?" Sarah asked curiously.

Professor Pemberton then looked at Sarah, his right hand almost touching his own cheek, he smiled slowly.

"Let me introduce you, dear. He is baby Clack, a child I adopted in Holland," said Professor Pemberton in a gentle tone.

"Hey baby clack," Sarah called to the baby.

"Haaa haaaa!" said the baby clack laughing.

"My dear children," called Professor Pemberton kindly.

"In Divination Class, you have to learn about detecting the invisible, like the magical residue floating in the air," said Professor Pemberton seriously.

Chloe whispered beside Sarah, "this is a good lesson you know, in Infant School the children are taught to sense magic through the smells in the air."

"Because in reality all objects that have come into contact with magic will definitely leave remnants of mana, and objects can also be enchanted to have mana," the professor continued.

"I don't know why... this lesson seems impossible," Sarah said, stunned.

"Not if you really are a witch," Jade replied calmly.

"Okay," Sarah muttered softly.

"Today, you will learn to guess which objects have been controlled by magic," said Professor Pemberton calmly.

"How did you guess, Professor? Because the smoke doesn't even have any taste," said Clarissa curiously.

"Because that magic is Clarissa's Mana, it's not just smoke in the air," Professor Pemberton replied smiling.

Professor Pemberton then took a large mechanical ball lying on the table with a stand that had a 2 foot long blade on top, the blade resembled a key.

He then placed the stand in the drawer at the back of the classroom, he then inserted the bottom of the ball into the stand bar until a clicking sound was heard indicating that the two objects had joined.

"Does anyone know the name of this ball?" asked Professor Pemberton teasingly.

Chloe and Lois immediately raised their hands.

"Miss Havelina," said the professor.

"It's called the Triangular Cycle, Professor!" Chloe said hurriedly.

"That's right, Miss Havelina, you are a knowledgeable child," said Professor Pemberton in praise.

"Ahh! I almost knew the answer," Lois complained.

"You did great last year too Lois," Professor Pemberton said gently.

Triangular cycle has 3 legs, with a shape like a small gear with a triangular formation that is lined up according to the geometric shape.

On the other hand, the stand is made of wood with three straight decorative legs with a round foundation underneath, while the top has only a single straight stick whose function is to lock the ball.

The professor then took out a container filled with many black and cream colored darts from the drawer, Sarah saw the professor stab the darts into each side of the gear, until the gear was almost filled with darts.

"This dart in my hand, only this one contains magic," said Professor Pemberton softly.

The professor brought one dart towards the clack baby, the baby looked at him calmly and occasionally patted his leg.

"Look, this is the power of baby clack," Chloe said next to Sarah.

Chloe looked at the baby and the professor with a serious face.

"The baby can throw weapons and reflect them thanks to his magical talent," Chloe continued.

"That sounds cool," Sarah complimented.

"So baby clack, please throw this dart," he said as he gave the dart to the baby's hand.

The baby clacked at the dart, and the professor stepped back to avoid it. The students, including Sarah, watched curiously. The baby clacked at the dart, which flew past the heads of the students below.

The dart missed the triangular cycle and instead bounced off the wall towards the sky then the student's desk then the wall on the right side, several students gasped and screamed in surprise.

"Aaaaa-"

"The dart bounced!" Sarah shouted.

"This again!" Lois complained irritably.

"Watch your head!" Neville ordered.

The dart continued bouncing and narrowly missed several students' faces. Meanwhile, Nivan and Lois were focused on the dart's movement, while Sarah covered her head with her hands.

"Movetur phantasia!" said Professor Pemberton pointing his wand, the module on the professor's wand then released a small light.

The dart then nearly hit a student's face before Professor Pemberton immediately used his wand, the wand was black and had two small frames that were slightly widened and had an oval, crater-shaped indentation. In front of the wand, the dart just stood still and spun in the air, it seemed to vibrate faintly.

"That's absolutely ridiculous!" Lois exclaimed in disbelief, "The dart is supposed to stab things!" she continued seriously.

"There's something else that doesn't make sense..." Nivan said softly, "The direction of the bounce, if you use Newton's law the dart should bounce at the angle."

Professor Pemberton then looked at the student with a proud smile, "So Mr. Arkwood, what do you think happened?"

"The dart bounced as if it had its own direction, and it wouldn't be noticed if you just looked at it," Nivan replied softly.

Professor Pemberton then clapped his hands and smiled at Nivan, while his dart remained suspended in the air.

"Well done Mr. Arkwood, you realized something important for a skilled wizard, I will give you 50 points," praised Professor Pemberton.

"Good job, nivan!" Chloe praised, laughing.

Nivan replied with a smile.

Professor Pemberton then aimed the tip of the dart at the triangular cycle and released it so that the dart hit one of the gears.

"Now, I want each child to try to guess where the enchanted dart is," said the professor seriously.

After the professor cast the cargo motus spell, all the gears in the triangular cycle rotated around each other through their respective axes, orbits, and shifted their positions. This completely messed up the darts' positions until it was impossible to tell which one had been enchanted.

After that, the professor reached for the gap between the seat and the ball, there he held the ball stick until the ball stopped spinning, now no one knew where the dart was just now.

"Now my wizards, please find the dart I threw earlier," said Professor Pemberton with a sweet smile.

Then, one by one, the students began to try to locate the dart. They did this by using the light at the tip of their wands; the light would vibrate if mana was present. When the student who had tried was replaced, the ball would spin and move the dart again.

When Chloe managed to find the dart, she then whispered to Sarah and gave her advice.

"If your wand vibrates when you use the Essolum spell, then that's the dart."

Sarah nodded in response to Chloe. Now it was Sarah's turn, summoned by Professor Pemberton to try it too. Sarah walked over to the ball, pointed the tip of her wand at the dart, and uttered the incantation.

"Essolum," said Sarah.

A bright white light emerged from the tip of his wand. As he held it close to the dart, a dance of light began to appear around the ball. The dance resembled a nearly invisible mist.

Sarah then felt a subtle vibration from her wand. She twirled the ball like the other students, and then felt her wand begin to vibrate faster.

By touching the backs of each dart with the tip of her wand, Sarah finally managed to find one. The baby clacked and then laughed happily after Sarah found the dart.

"So, all the students have tried. For those who failed, I suggest you practice more often. Those who can should practice too!" Professor Pemberton said seriously.

The baby clack then reached for a knife tucked beside his seat cushion, he lifted it and chuckled. The students watched the baby tensely.

Professor Pemberton immediately grabbed the knife from the baby's hand and secured it.

"No, dear. Children must learn not to throw knives carelessly," said the frail professor.

The baby clacked then whimpered and cried after the knife was taken away.

"Let's go home," Professor Pemberton continued.

Professor Pemberton then pushed the stroller out of the classroom. Several students watched in disbelief. On the other side, on the horizon, Ash and Athea were already visible, flying swiftly toward Brighford Castle in the distance.

"That's the castle, there's a library there!" Ash said quickly.

droning

The swan then circled around the school rooftops, and Ash immediately pointed to the open window. Ash and Athea entered the library through it.

Chapter 9: Following Him On A Sled

Ash and Athea were now flying around the library ceiling. They then slowly descended toward the history shelves. The swan's flapping was gentle, making no noise. Ash quickly jumped off the creature's back.

"There must be a clue about the island here," Ash muttered thoughtfully.

Ash glanced at the books on the shelf. They were of varying thicknesses and always neatly arranged. Athea chose to sit on the bookshelf and rest there.

"Are you serious about not helping me?" Ash asked jokingly, "Well, it's okay, you're just a goose after all..." he continued in a flat tone.

Then from the direction of the Gervais tower, a giant mechanical clock began to chime, its sound heard all the way into the library.

"Gervais watch, so nostalgic!" said Ash with a big smile.

The clock on the high tower chimed, signaling the end of classes at Brighford, and all the wizarding students were leaving their classrooms for free time. It was at that moment that Sarah, Chloe, and Nivan walked together down the fourth-floor hallway.

"According to the book of magical artifacts in the library, the green apple crystal held by Professor Grimble is a high-level divination tool for detecting the presence of magic and people from a distance," Nivan explained.

"Including knowing the whereabouts of Ealdor?" Sarah asked curiously.

"How do you know that term?" Chloe asked, looking at Sarah.

"From Professor Grimble," Sarah replied.

"I've heard about Ealdor, it was written in the library. But I didn't read it all the way through," Nivan said seriously.

"Then how about we just go to the library," Sarah suggested.

"Now?"

"Of course now, I want to know more about magic," Sarah replied seriously.

"So, what do you think about this school, you just found out about magic, right?" Chloe asked calmly.

"I love this school, because it makes me a witch!" Sarah replied happily.

Chloe then quipped at Nivan, "That's a completely different answer from Nivan."

"Why is that?" asked Sarah curiously.

"That's not it!" Nivan argued, "I thought this school was just ordinary, with complicated rules like when the bridge is lowered at night. And if you're naughty you'll be punished with dissinia."

"But I'm not a bad kid," Sarah said confidently.

"I believe that," Chloe said in Sarah's defense.

As the three of them continued walking, Adelina, Nancy, and Dorothy crept up and watched them from behind. Adelina watched Sarah intently.

"That's ridiculous," Adelina said with a grin, "It's really Sarah Beverley!"

"How are you so sure?" Nancy asked spontaneously.

"Maybe from his body?" Dorothy guessed.

Dorothy then took a small water bottle from her small bag and drank the water.

"Please stop drinking first, Dorothy," Adelina advised.

"I'm thirsty now, Adelina," Dorothy replied weakly.

"Okay listen guys, I contacted Miss Sokonova from the Gusterring camp yesterday," Adelina continued.

"How did you find the number?" Dorothy asked casually.

"With the help of pearl paper, Dorothy, with the help of magic. Miss Sokonova said that Sarah used to braid her hair as I remember, and she was a cheerful girl," Adelina answered at length.

"So what's our plan, get her to submit as a sylphine? Or drop her into dissinia? Though that part hasn't been tried yet," Nancy asked curiously.

A sharp grin then spread across Adelina's lips, she bit her lower lip while smiling.

"Don't rush, friends!" said Adelina in a high tone.

"Come here, I have a plan!" he whispered quickly.

Adelina then put her arms around her two friends to whisper. The three of them whispered to each other, leaving Sarah and the other three to walk away.

When Sarah, Chloe, and Nivan reached the larger hallway, a tall, pale figure on a bicycle appeared at the end, slowly moving down the hall. Every now and then, he rung his bell and gently tossed newspapers to the students.

"Who's riding a bicycle in the hallway?" Sarah asked, a little surprised.

"That's Kent, the rebellious sailor elf," Chloe replied casually.

"Breaking news! Breaking news, students! It's about Ealdor!" Kent shouted in a high-pitched voice from a distance.

"Ealdor!" Sarah screamed in surprise.

"Come here, get this newspaper from me, son," Kent continued in a high tone.

The elf began to appear closer to the three of them, Chloe called out to him in a friendly manner.

"Hi Mr. Kent," Chloe called.

"Hi Miss Haveline, would you like today's newspaper?" Kent asked casually.

"Sure, was there any news about the ealdor earlier?" Chloe replied.

"I hope we didn't hear wrong," Nivan said softly.

"Sure... sure, this is breaking news about Ealdor, why the interest?" Kent asked casually.

Mr. Kent then took the newspaper that was in his bicycle basket, then gave it to Chloe, Nivan and also Sarah looked at the newspaper page, there were several big news stories, where the other three were from several days ago on April 29th to May 4th.

First, the Ealdor began acting recklessly, with three fires, explosions, and the emergence of an Ealdor-linked cult. Those holding mages under their protection were urged to immediately secure their territories and refrain from joining risky groups.

Secondly, the ECFR cargo train Princess Cenessa was damaged in the Baedeker Blitz attack on York station, so grain supplies may not be able to reach the rest of Yorkshire, putting some villages in Majisca at risk of further food shortages.

Then the third news is about the Slingball sports club which might disband and focus on the military if the war continues, especially since France, which once hosted the event, stopped the Slingball competition which brought athletes from all over Europe.

Then there is a small photo clip of the wizard, Professor Gordon Russell Henderson who was questioned about being arrested by British authorities for plotting fascism.

"Blimey, what the hell!" Chloe shouted loudly.

Sarah and Nivan then looked at Chloe in confusion.

"What do you mean?" asked Sarah.

"What's wrong?" Nivan asked.

"Princess Cenessa's carriage was damaged by the Blitz, so the entire school will be short of food," Chloe said in a panic, "Wait, what about Barnwolf Village!"

"I- I think this is the last time you'll have oatmeal, Miss Haveline," said Kent sheepishly.

"Chloe, please focus! We have to focus on Ealdor," Nivan said seriously.

"Do I have to be the only one reading the news about Ealdor?" Sarah asked, confused.

"No, let me do it," Chloe muttered.

Chloe then continued reading the newspaper,

"The ealdors are starting to act recklessly,"

"What does that mean?" asked Sarah.

"It means the old wizards are starting to do something for their ambitions," Nivan answered briefly.

Mr. Kent had long, pointed ears. His hair was shaggy and coarse, and he wore a trilby hat that covered the top of his head. He was dressed in a maroon jacket and green plaid trousers. Mr. Kent then looked at Sarah with a curious expression.

"Miss Haveline, and Mr. Arkwood, who is this girl beside you?" he asked curiously.

"She's Sarah Beverley, Sylphine's new student," Chloe answered quickly.

"Hi, I'm Sarah," Sarah said.

Kent then got off his bike and leaned over, he touched his right chest to bow respectfully.

"By Prosenaire, hi Sarah, let me introduce myself, I'm Kent, I'm an old elf from Kent. I'm 165 years old," Kent said kindly.

"Nice to meet you Mr. Kent," Sarah said with a friendly smile.

Mr. Kent then straightened up and got back on his bike, he waved briefly to the three children.

"See you later,"

"Where are you going?" asked Nivan.

"I want to continue working, next I have to clean the school warehouse, keep the Apparition Cest warm and feed the animals at school," Kent replied while pedaling his bike.

"Okay, see you," Sarah said.

The three of them continued their journey until they finally arrived at the library room. The library was on the second floor, where some of the books were neatly placed. From the library door alone, there was a warning sign that read, "Don't stack books on the shelves, or the Boggart will make you fall!"

Inside the library, bookshelves are neatly arranged, with aisles of books for different types of materials. On the floor in front of the shelves are wooden carvings depicting inscriptions such as mantras, divinations, broomsticks, and history. The library has white and gold walls, and a balcony surrounds the library.

The library's ceiling is a deep purple with neat geometric lines. In the sky, hundreds of floating candles represent the British Isles.

"The topic of ealdor in the reference book about the wizarding lands of the past," Nivan said briefly.

Chloe lowered her eyebrows seriously, "I want to read reference books too!"

"Have you ever read the story about a witch named Zessica Oliver?" Chloe asked teasingly.

They both said they didn't know. Chloe then briefly told her two friends about Zessica Oliver, a 15th-century commander tasked with protecting the princess hostage of a Welsh chieftain. As Sarah walked through the library, she saw Ash pass between two shelves and disappear. Sarah was a little taken aback.

Sarah then ran to where Ash had appeared earlier, then turned, and finally she met the green-robed boonie again.

"Ash," Sarah called nervously.

The boonie then turned to look at Sarah, noting her appearance after arriving in Brighford, her Sylphine uniform and the two locks of hair still on her head. Sarah's dark green eyes gazed at the boonie with amusement. Meanwhile, Athea simply craned her neck and stared at the two of them.

"Sarah!" Ash exclaimed.

"Look at you, you've become Sylphine!" Ash praised, smiling widely.

"Yes,"

"Even though your mother was previously a member of Rosesmith!" Ash continued in a high tone.

"Rosesmith? So my mother used to be in that dorm?" Sarah asked curiously.

Ash then walked leisurely.

"Yeah, he was already a Rosesmith from the start after using the Ho-lop Pottery. Maybe it's because of his talent," Ash replied casually.

"Then why am I Sylphine?" Sarah asked curiously.

Ash then approached and patted Sarah's arm with his palm.

"Oh that's okay, talent can be honed, son... I'll give you one suggestion."

Ash waved his hand for Sarah to hear his whisper, he then whispered to Sarah who had bent down to listen.

"Choose the strongest talent you can, then you can be in the Rosesmith dorm after that talent is useful!"

"Really, just like that?" Sarah asked with wide eyes.

"Yes, that's the rule since 1928, the children of Dissinia or Sylphine can become Rosesmiths as long as they grow up to be good wizards," Ash explained.

"Then, I want to remain a good witch," Sarah replied with a smile.

"That's a good decision, Son!" Ash said casually.

Chloe and Nivan saw Sarah talking to Ash and approached them. They came from another shelf. Chloe had already grabbed two books: *Wizingas Weald: Ruler of the Unholy Land* and *A History of Stanshire Town*.

"Sarah, who are you talking to?" Nivan asked curiously.

"That's Ash Dwellers, my uncle told me that Ash had helped him," Chloe answered casually.

Ash then raised his ears, he turned towards Chloe and Nivan.

"Ahh Haveline. Sarah, do you know those two?" Ash asked Sarah.

"Yes... they are both my friends," Sarah answered softly.

"Good, kid, you've made friends at school," Ash said praisingly again.

"What exactly is your relationship?" Chloe asked curiously.

"He was the one who invited and registered me at Brighford..." Sarah replied looking at Ash.

"Because I was the one who helped him when he was a baby," Ash replied.

Chloe then lowered her eyebrows, looking at the boonie curiously.

"If I may guess, you're not here to see Sarah. It's definitely related to something!" Chloe said sharply.

"Is that true, Ash?" Sarah asked curiously.

Ash swallowed his saliva, he was a little hesitant to speak.

"First, you didn't try to find Sarah, second, there's a sleeping swan on a bookshelf that shouldn't be in a library, and third, something must have happened!" Chloe said with a wide stare.

"Yes, you are right, Miss Haveline, I came here because something happened, I was told to investigate it myself," Ash replied while holding his waist.

"Just tell me, what's wrong with you?" Nivan asked calmly.

Ash was silent for a moment before finally trying to tell the three children. Ash began by telling them that three days ago, the Quaestors had wanted to capture Maggie Haversham, who was tiredly walking in the Woolymoon Forest, where they were ready to capture Maggie. Ash lowered his ears as he told the story.

"They told me that they were ready to capture your nanny, but their plan failed after a troll appeared and attacked them."

"All the Quaestors withdrew, no one wanted to return, especially after they found out that Miss Haversham had met with the ealdor in the abandoned church..."

"Maggie... met the ealdor..." Sarah muttered.

"Why is your nanny looking for that?" Nivan asked curiously.

"That sounds dangerous," Chloe replied.

"To seek a miracle... that's what I heard from him," Sarah replied.

Due to the events that occurred, the Quaestors then sent Ash a letter about what had happened at that time and asked Ash to tell the chronology and help track Maggie.

Ash tells what he knows, while at another time he has sent a wizard named Charles Ashcroft to follow the trail of the ealdor and also Maggie.

"The ealdor invited Maggie to go to the Isle of Gomond, but unfortunately I don't know anything about that place so I tried to look it up in the library," Ash explained.

"Do you think Maggie will really get the magic she's looking for?" Sarah asked softly.

"Yes..." Ash replied in a whisper, "but I don't consider it a safe spell, who knows what will happen but someone needs to get that woman away from Ealdor soon," Ash continued.

"Yes. That's right," Nivan said, turning his face away.

Ash then continued his search. He picked up an old book from the top shelf, his delicate feet resting on the shelf.

"Do you want me to help you?" Sarah asked, looking at Ash.

"No need, I can do it myself!" Ash replied.

Ash then fell to the floor with a thick book with a hard cover, the book's cover resembled dragon scales.

"Aaah-"

"Do you need help?" Sarah asked again.

"No problem,"

The boonie then stood up and immediately patted his sore back, then read the book's index to find out. Sarah, Nivan, and Chloe then approached slowly out of curiosity.

"What is that?" Chloe asked curiously.

"Is that about Ealdor!" Sarah asked.

Ash immediately shook his head.

"I found it. Isle of Gomond," Ash replied resignedly.

On the page of the book there is a map of several small islands, while next to it is a painting of several witches staring at a sickle wrapped in a snake.

Below it is an inscription in Anglo-Saxon letters:

"The old man of the Vorag family was very happy; but he was very happy with the magon of the lions."

Meanwhile, underneath was regular writing. Ash read each paragraph to the end of the page.

"The fourth generation of the De Vorags, Oswald de Vorag, purchased small islands in northwest Scotland for his children to use as private grounds to build laboratories and facilities hidden beneath the cliffs. These islands were the Isle of Haskier, the Isle of Gomond, and the Isle of Uist," Ash read out the paragraph.

"The island looks like a bitten piece of cheese," Sarah muttered as she stared at the picture of the Isle of Uist.

"Northwest of Scotland, yes," Ash said with satisfaction, "I'm pretty familiar with Scotland, at least the western part of it," Ash continued.

Sarah then bent down and looked at the boonie.

"Ash, can I come too to meet Maggie?" Sarah asked nervously.

"For what?" Ash asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"I want to see what happened to Maggie," Sarah replied softly.

Ash was then surprised,

"No-no-no! You can't come with me!" Ash said panicked, "That would be dangerous, what if we meet the ealdor?"

"Then we just run!" Sarah replied with a sly smile.

"That's a really good idea, although I don't know if I should join in," Nivan complimented Sarah.

"You have to come, Nivan! Because we're friends!" Chloe replied confidently.

Ash then backed away in fear.

"No no no- what if I don't have time to save one of you?" Ash asked in panic.

"Well, it's okay if you refuse, but I'm almost happy to join in the investigation," Chloe said gloomily.

Nivan then held Chloe's arm, "It's okay Chloe, let's just focus on finding out, no one is stopping us from reading books," Nivan said calmly.

"Sorry everyone for not coming, I wanted to go alone..." Ash said calmly.

"Why?" Sarah asked.

"Because this is my problem,"

"But I think it's my problem too," Sarah whispered, "I'm just worried about Maggie."

Sarah then turned and walked away, Ash and Sarah's two friends were silent. Ash then decided to continue reading the book. After a while, Chloe and Nivan then met Ash who was trying to return the books he had taken to the shelf.

"If stacking books will make you fall into a Boggart? Whose joke is that..." Ash muttered quietly.

"Mr. Dwellers," Chloe called to Ash.

Ash then turned to Chloe and Nivan and asked the purpose of their visit.

"Earlier, Sarah was crying because you didn't take her there," Nivan muttered softly.

"Yes, crying without tears..." Chloe said haltingly.

"Just tell her she's feeling down!" Ash muttered in annoyance, "Just so you know her mother is stronger than her classmates, she'll definitely be the same as her mother."

"Yeah... you could say that," Chloe said speechlessly.

"You're right," Nivan whispered.

Chloe and Nivan then let Ash walk closer to Athea.

Ash gently nudged the bird until Athea woke up. The swan then got up and walked off the shelf, wagging its head.

"Get up buddy, we'll fly to the Isle of Gomond without a doubt," Ash said with a big smile.

Ash rode on Athea's back, they stopped first at the potion shelf.

"Tell Sarah I'm sorry," Ash said seriously.

"Yeah," Nivan replied.

Then Ash and Athea flew through the wide-open library window. Unbeknownst to Ash, Sarah had already peeked out from behind the school wall, watching Athea begin to be enveloped in smoke.

Sarah then immediately ran quickly towards the elder bridge, from the long bridge Sarah then climbed the hill to get to the strawberry hut, the hut was quiet at that time because Professor Whitlowe was not in the hut. The seagulls Robby, Pruna, and Oswin were sitting quietly on top of the hut. Sarah looked around and finally found the Glow de Trois sled beside the hut, nervously she then conjured the cart.

"Aeremiousus... is moved by imagination," he said in a serious tone.

The sled then floated in the air and shook slightly, Sarah hesitantly tried to get on the sled. She stared straight ahead.

"Go ahead..." Sarah said while swallowing her saliva.

The sled then moved forward, Sarah holding onto the sides to keep from being thrown. The wind blew hard in her face, making her eyes water slightly. The sled nearly hit the school wall before Sarah controlled her stick to make the sled climb upwards. Then, over the small, pointed peaks on the hall's roof. Sarah then pointed her stick forward.

"Essolum!" he said.

The module on Sarah's wand then released three faint lights, indicating that Sarah had used three different spells with the wand.

The tip of Sarah's staff then released a small wave, which pleased her a little as the smoke Athea left behind contained mana. But she also had to focus, as her sled was becoming uncontrollable.

"Woooowww... blimey!!!"

Meanwhile near the strawberry hut, Jade and Oscar and two Dissinia boys, Oliver and Michael were walking near the hut.

"Hey! Where's the sled?" Oliver asked in surprise.

"It was there earlier," Jade replied.

Sarah flew silently, following Ash and Athea closely behind. She tried not to stare at the ground, trying to focus on following Ash.

As dusk fell at 6 p.m., Ash and Athea descended to the shore and stopped beside Loch Lomond. That evening, the lake was teeming with birds foraging for food. Two black-robed wizards could be seen in the distance, playing near the lake.

As they both disembarked, Athea immediately ran to the center of the lake, approaching the other birds, her wings spread wide. Some of the birds began chirping and responding to each other.

"You must be tired, we'll just rest here," Ash said looking at Athea.

"Make sure you don't disappear," he continued.

Base... base

Athea flapped her wings in the lake water. Afterward, Ash headed to a long barn on a hill, brightly lit but covered in straw tied together like thin hair. A sign in front of the barn door read Lytweald Hut's.

Ash immediately knocked three times on the wooden door of the cottage. The door swung open, and a large man opened it for him. His attire consisted of a flap cap, a knitted sweater, and a small scarf, the ends of which he tucked into the sweater.

"Mr. Dwellers, who brought you here?" asked Harry Kerr, his voice hoarse.

Behind Harry, two men were sitting in guest chairs, with three bottles of Royal Honeyed Plums and Moira's White Lemonade in front of them. They were engaged in a serious discussion.

"Looks like the goose, Athea needs some rest here, I don't mind sleeping on the porch," Ash muttered with a friendly smile.

Harry then smiled faintly with a raised eyebrow, "Come in my friend, people have been talking about Mr. Henderson's ideology inside."

"No, I'm not interested in politics," Ash replied casually.

"Come in, we'll serve you some food," Harry said, smiling softly.

"Okay," Ash replied slowly.

Ash then entered the house and was led by Harry.

"Aren't you guys short of food?" Ash continued.

"We still have food, not much, that is if you want to force yourself to eat legumes," Harry replied jokingly.

On the other hand, Sarah, who saw Ash had entered the cottage, then tried to make the sled turn, he flew over Loch Lomond, from there he then made a sharp turn which made the water below him splash into the air.

"It goes in there," Sarah said seriously.

After turning, Sarah tried to slow the sled down, slowly descending toward the water. Eventually, the long blades of the sled touched the water, causing it to sway and splash.

"Watch out!"

As the sled approached the edge of a lake filled with birds, the birds quickly took off to avoid being hit. Sarah's sled created a wave of birds that began to soar into the air.

"One point for the duck!" Sarah said after a duck screamed in panic.

Then the train hit the mud at the edge of the lake and slid rapidly down the cliff, Sarah holding on tightly to the steering wheel. Once the train came to a complete stop, Sarah got out and walked toward the hut.

Chapter 10: Compass Introduction

After entering Harry's house, Ash sat on the living room sofa. The sofa was adjacent to the dining table where the two men had been sitting. Nearby, Harry's wife, Flora Kerr, was tidying up items on a dresser, such as scissors and family photos. Flora wore a dark green headscarf with gold trim and a dark red jumper.

"Perhaps you shouldn't force the swan to fly all the way to the Scottish Isles," Harry said quietly.

"It's not me who wants it, it's the girl who owns the goose, Miss Fletcher," Ash replied.

"Fletcher? I know them quite well. Would you like some peas?" Miss Kerr asked in a friendly tone.

"No need, I've already eaten some bread," Ash replied.

"Don't lie to your own stomach," said Harry with a teasing smile.

"I'm not lying..." Ash replied while lowering his eyebrows.

There, Ash and Harry laughed, while Harry's wife picked up the teapot and cups from the table and took them to the sink. Sarah peered through the window, observing the people inside the cottage.

Athea, who was previously at the lake, then entered the hut by pushing the door open. She then spoke to the two people sitting at the dining table. Athea walked towards Ash.

The two people then stood up, they waved briefly at Harry.

"See you later, Harry," he said softly.

"See you, Max," Harry replied.

"Goodbye, Miss. Thank you for the drink," said the curly-haired man.

"Make sure you don't sleep too long, James," Flora said to the man.

"Okay, I want to check on Grandma Susan first," he replied.

The two men then walked toward the door. The sound of hinges creaked as they slowly opened it. Sarah quickly ran to hide beside the hut wall. She watched the two men descend the slope.

Then, behind Sarah stood a boy about her age. He wore a bluish-gray coat and thick black shorts. He had dark blonde hair cut short and large teeth.

"Hi, what are you doing here?" Rikki asked in a whisper.

Sarah then turned around and noticed the kid, "Oh, hi. I was following a boonie, but it stopped at this cabin," Sarah replied calmly.

"Following a boonie bunny? Just like Alice!" Rikki said with a slight smile.

"Is he going to wonderland? Why are you following him?" Rikki asked casually.

"No, he was planning to go to the Isle of Gomond and told me not to come, so I followed him," Sarah argued at length.

Rikki then glanced at his hut for a moment, "So, you were forbidden to follow him but still followed him secretly?"

"Yes."

"Would you like to rest here? This is a home for wizards who have traveled far," Rikki replied, "But make sure you don't get caught."

Sarah then paused to think, "May I know your name?" Sarah asked.

"My name is Rikki Kerr. I saw you riding the Sleamgaen sled by the lake earlier, you must be a witch," Rikki answered at length.

"I'm Sarah Beverley, I'm from York," Sarah replied.

"Rikki, do you think I can go straight to the Isle of Gomond without waiting for Ash? It's just that I don't know what the island is like yet," Sarah said seriously.

Rikki immediately scratched his head. He then walked to the small shed beside the hut.

"Come with me. Trust my professors from Dunbartonshire, we know the place," Rikki said calmly.

Sarah then followed Rikki into the warehouse. There, Rikki immediately retrieved a large scroll containing a map of Scotland and several notebooks. He also lit a paraffin lamp inside.

Rikki then pointed towards one of the small islands in Scotland.

"The professors told me that the Isle of Gomond would look like an ordinary slab of coral when seen from the sky by humans... But therein lies the secret. The island is not actually coral, but there is a vast cave hidden within the coral slab," Rikki explained.

"Really there? How do you think I know where I'm going?" Sarah asked nervously.

"From here to the Isle of Gomond you have to fly 327 degrees northwest, and you need a compass," Rikki replied.

Rikki then threw a compass at Sarah. Sarah immediately grabbed it, which nearly hit her chest. The compass had a large frame and was carved with images of fairy babies, flowers, deer, and wolves.

"This is really beautiful," Sarah praised.

"Are you really going to fly there again in that Sleamgaen sled?" Rikki asked, grinning.

"Of course," Sarah replied.

"I don't think there's any need to do that anymore. You used a spell to make the carriage fly, right?" Rikki said in a long voice, "I'll give you a broomstick too."

Rikki then took a long broom on the shelf. The broom had curly bristles, tied with a thin, layered rope, while the color of the blade was black with the name of the broom engraved on the front: "Sky Greaves 4482". Rikki immediately brought the large, slender broom to Sarah.

"Wear it, it's just for you," the boy smiled faintly.

Sarah then hesitantly took the two objects from the table.

"Why would you give it to me?" Sarah asked softly.

"That's an old broom, it used to be for me, but now I have a new one," Rikki answered sincerely.

"And about your sled, I'll send it to my school to be sent back to where you came from," Rikki continued.

"Brighford... that sled belongs to Brighford School, I borrowed it," Sarah replied in a whisper.

"Okay, now fly before the boonie bunny notices you!" said Rikki seriously.

Sarah immediately nodded seriously. She exited the hut, carrying a broom in her left hand and the compass Rikki had given her in her right.

"Run and jump!" Rikki said, giving instructions.

Sarah then took a breath, she closed her eyes for a moment. Sarah then ran with the broom already under her hips. She then immediately jumped on the ground and in the end she actually sat on the broom that had flown. Her body swayed slightly in the air.

"Thank you, Rikki!" Sarah shouted, looking back.

"Both," Rikki replied.

Ash then raised his ears when he heard Sarah's voice faintly from the ceiling.

"Wait, what's that noise outside?" Ash asked in surprise.

"Did you hear something?" Harry asked, frowning.

"Yeah, she sounds like... Sarah Beverley," Ash said touching his chin.

"Sarah Beverley!" he shouted in surprise.

Ash immediately ran out of the hut. He looked up at the ceiling and saw a small witch flying across the lake on a broomstick.

"Wait, that's Sarah Beverley? How does she have a broomstick?" Ash asked in confusion.

Athea and Harry immediately walked out of the hut following Ash. Ash lowered his gaze and he saw Glow de Trois' sled left standing on the edge of the lake. He sighed in surprise.

As he approached the sled, Ash immediately examined the side of the sled. There was the name of the wizarding school written there: Brighford Middle Dormitorium.

"Brigford sled! Sarah might be the one using this," Ash said with a grin.

"Who is Sarah?" asked Harry Kerr.

Ash then looked at Harry and also Athea.

"Sarah Beverley, the witch child I once helped. Turns out she followed you here!"

"So, where is Sarah Beverley?" asked Harry.

"He's already flying on a broomstick over there," Ash replied, pointing towards the other side of the lake.

Rikki walked over to them nervously. Her father, Harry, immediately looked at her and sighed in resignation.

"Son, do you know anything about Sarah?" Harry asked softly.

"There was a blonde girl earlier... but she's gone," Rikki replied, looking down.

"Tell me the truth, Rikki," Harry said seriously.

"Yes, he was there to follow the boonie rabbit, but I gave him our old compass and broomstick... then I asked him to leave quickly so the boonie wouldn't find out," Rikki answered nervously.

"W-what! So, he's on the Isle of Gomond now? With the compass!" Ash shouted in surprise.

"Yes."

Ash then immediately shook his head and covered his face with both hands.

"I won't blame you..." Ash lowered his voice.

Ash then quickly grabbed Athea and sat on the goose. Athea then immediately responded.

*Honk*

"Mr. Kerr, we're going to go catch up with Sarah. Thank you for earlier," Ash said hurriedly.

"It's okay. If you need a partner, just write to me," Harry said with a faint smile.

"See you later!"

*Honk*

Ash and Athea immediately flew in the night sky, trying to catch up with Sarah.

Atop the hills of Ben Lomond, Sarah checked her compass. The compass indicated she was flying a heading of 290 degrees, so she turned her broom around until it was now heading 327 degrees northwest. Sarah smiled faintly when she realized her compass was correct.

He crossed the rolling Scottish hills below. The moonlight shone brightly from the sky, illuminating the slightly darkened hills. The wind began to caress his skin as he flew over the sea, making his cloak flap in the air. The northern stars had shifted in position in the sky.

After passing several large islands, Sarah arrived at an island with very high cliffs, but its surface was a vast coral rock, just like Rikki said.

"It looks like the Isle of Gomond," Sarah muttered.

Sarah flew around the island and finally discovered a cave opening stretching from left to right. The cave's location was completely invisible from the sky, and seawater had already entered the cave entrance. Sarah then directed her broom to turn and dive to enter the cave.

Inside the cave, Sarah flew over a small cliff whose surface was covered in rolling sand. To her left, dozens of candles floated in the air, illuminating the stone path below. Not far from the path, small ventilation windows with iron frames stood parallel to the cave wall.

"What is this place..." Sarah whispered to herself.

All the floating candles gave directions to a large pond surrounded by a path. Behind the pond was carved the surface of a building resembling a manor. Above the door was the name "De Vorag Manor Stone".

Sarah entered the manor through a gap in the largest window at the top of the manor. She landed on the window ledge and then stepped onto a narrow stone balcony that curved into the manor wall.

The balcony is 29 feet high. From below, columns lead to other rooms and a large hall decorated with red carpet and statues of Scottish warriors.

From one of the two columns on the right side, two large figures, quite startling in size, walked out. One was a troll wearing a deer skull as a headdress. In his hands was a giant tray filled with food such as soup, meat, bread, and a cooked buffel head with its antlers removed. There were also small plates, forks, and knives.

The other was a 14-foot-tall horse that had to lower its head to pass the column in front of it. The horse's body was muscular and its fur was smooth, while its mane was short and shaped like a chess piece.

The horse was about to eat the food on the tray before the troll quickly waved his hand for the horse to move away.

"Stop, this is human food, it's for our guest, Miss Haversham," said the troll in a deep voice.

"Maggie Haversham," Sarah murmured.

"We don't always eat food like humans," the troll continued.

The two creatures made their way to another corridor beneath Sarah. Meanwhile, Ash also appeared, climbing the manor wall and squeezing through a gap in the stone in the giant window. He soon saw Sarah climbing through a child-sized hole in the wall.

"Agh- Beverley!" Ash whispered frantically.

Ash immediately stepped towards the narrow balcony to catch up with Sarah. From the hole Sarah then moved the painting frame that was blocking the exit, she then went down and held the frame carefully. Ash immediately appeared and helped her hold the painting frame.

"Ash..." Sarah called in a whisper.

Ash, who had been staring at the entire room, immediately told Sarah to be quiet by blowing on his index finger.

"Husssss."

"Sir, I have brought human food," said the troll in a high voice.

Roxa then stood up from his chair, revealing his enormous, nine-foot-long body. The horses in the room stepped aside to make room, while the troll quickly set down the plate and tray and saluted Roxa.

"Is that Ealdor?" Sarah asked, looking to the center of the room.

"Yeah- but, why did you go following me!" Ash asked in a whisper.

"Because I want to help Maggie," Sarah whispered.

"Are you unaware of the danger that threatens you?" Ash asked threateningly.

"He was persuaded by Ealdor, he said he wouldn't be mean to me, and... he covered me when I first fell into the cave," Sarah replied.

Ash immediately shook his head. Meanwhile, Roxa walked over to the small door and knocked four times.

"Maggie, my friend, it's time for a break," he whispered.

The door then opened, and out stepped Maggie, her face calm. She walked slowly past Roxa.

"That's Maggie..." Sarah said.

"The one who should be returned to where he came from," Ash replied in a whisper.

"Do you want to eat too, Roxa?" Maggie said, looking at her food.

"I'm not hungry," Roxa muttered.

"It's not about that, you have to eat too! That's how humans are," Maggie said firmly.

"Okay," Roxa replied as she sat back down in her chair.

"Tell me, why did you tell me to come in here through Beverley's house?" Maggie asked confused.

"Oh Maggie, that's because I was being careful not to arouse suspicion. My brother would report me if he found out," Roxa replied, making an excuse.

"Roxa, do you think I'll really become a witch tonight?" Maggie asked in a whisper.

"Of course."

"Will I be able to do magic then?"

"Of course."

"Can I repay what others have done to me?" Maggie asked again.

Roxa then immediately stood up and grabbed Maggie's hand.

"Of course, my friend, of course! That's what will happen to you tonight!" said Roxa seriously.

Roxa then spun around, her robes swinging in the air. Her voice boomed as she spoke. Sarah stared at them both and fell silent.

"Tonight, my horoscope says that if death has occurred... That's when the ritual to turn a commoner into a witch can be performed! And you can avenge them."

"And I can put my past behind me, right?" Maggie asked with wide eyes.

"Oh, no," Ash muttered, slapping his face.

"Of course! There's no need for an old man at Christmas, just the ritual!" Roxa said in a high-pitched voice.

Roxa then looked at the troll and the small gnome who was sweeping the room.

"My servants, play music!" he shouted firmly.

Oh no!

"Okay, sir!"

The trolls and gnomes immediately ran up to an organ. They then played the organ, while the troll began playing a giant bagpipe. Roxa then clapped his hands, extinguishing the four flaming torches in the air. His right hand briefly glowed, forming a pattern with two semicircular arcs at the bottom, and in the middle of them, straight lines intersecting like horns forming a cross.

"You see those glowing letters on his hand..." Ash whispered to Sarah.

"Yes, it's shining," Sarah replied in a whisper.

"It's a sigil symbol. The most powerful wizards put it there to strengthen their magic," Ash whispered.

The music then began to play with changing organ notes followed by the sound of bagpipes echoing through the room.

Roxa started singing in a whisper-like tone.

"In a remote village

The villagers have been fooled

They made two girls go through a ritual... And it ended in revenge!" he shouted in the middle of the song.

Then Roxa turned on a film projector that projected an image onto the wall. Meanwhile, the gnomes continued playing music.

Maggie then joined in the song, telling the story in a fragile voice. The projector image showed three mice and the girl who accompanied them on their adventures.

"The story of Irene who was cared for by three mice

Together in the forest circle

Tracking life

But one mouse hurt her deepest heart..."

"What did they say?" Sarah asked.

"A dark tale," Ash replied.

"And Irene retaliated with a knife!!!" Roxa shouted in a high-pitched voice.

It was at that moment that the image on the projector showed the silhouette of the girl's arm holding a knife.

The two of them then sang together,

"That's just like you..."

"That's just like me..."

"Because you are not alone

Follow your passion

To gain strength," Roxa continued.

Roxa held a statue of a rat posed as if thrown backward with a thin knife stabbing its chest, its right arm extended forward. He placed the statue directly in front of the monitor's light, casting a giant shadow on the wall.

"You are just like him

Your ear was injured by Mary

A woman who thinks she is powerful!

Who cares adults don't care..."

"If only they could see," Maggie said, joining in the song,

"...For the children Santa Claus is good

But never punished Mary!" shouted Roxa.

"That's just like you..."

"That's just like me..."

"Because I'm not alone

Follow my wishes

"To get the strength," Maggie sings.

"Magic power is only for me

Go across the dark Sunderland sky

And rain down wrath upon the people of the past

"That hurts my heart," Maggie said at the end of the song.

"That's just like you!"

"That's just like me!"

The troll then blew his bagpipes louder than before.

The tone of the song then lowered and this time it was just the two of them singing.

"Loneliness in sadness

Your wish

"You deserve to exist because you are a miracle," said Roxa.

"I am a miracle," Maggie continued.

After they finished singing, the torches were lit again, and the musicians stopped playing. Maggie stared at Roxa, her breath holding in her throat.

"Will I really get that magic tonight?" Maggie asked quietly.

"Wait a minute," Roxa whispered tensely.

Then from behind the hallway, the faint sound of a pan steaming loudly could be heard, so loud that the sound penetrated this room.

"... That's the sound of the potion, after this we are ready to carry out the ritual," Roxa replied with a sardonic smile.

"I'll be looking forward to it, my friend," Maggie whispered with a faint smile.

Roxa immediately ran down the hallway, black smoke rising from her footsteps as several crow feathers from her robes fell gently into the air. Meanwhile, Maggie stared at Roxa's back with relief.

"I'm waiting for the magic that will resolve my past..." Maggie muttered.

Meanwhile, Sarah, who had been on the narrow balcony, turned around and hid behind the balcony frame.

"Somehow that looks wrong," Sarah whispered, looking down.

Ash also hid behind the jagged balcony.

"That's wrong, great power can indeed bring harm. Nothing has ever been without consequences," Ash replied calmly.

"I think... I should go see Maggie now," Sarah said softly.

"Why, why do you think that?" Ash asked in surprise.

"Ash, we can talk to him before it's too late, before the ritual happens," Sarah said seriously.

"But... what if that Ealdor finds out? He's part of the De Vorag family!" Ash said, his voice low.

"Then let's just do it quickly," Sarah said seriously.

Sarah and Ash turned around again, and they both saw Maggie sitting gracefully, placing food from the tray onto a small plate in her lap. Meanwhile, the gnomes, trolls, and giant horses had all walked down the same hallway as Roxa, leaving Maggie alone.

"I'm going to see Maggie..." Sarah whispered.

Sarah then walked to the other side of the balcony, where a sofa sat close to the pilaster, next to which sat the troll's bagpipes. She stepped across the balcony and rested her feet on a pilaster. She then bent down carefully.

Sarah then grabbed onto two long carvings on the pilaster and quickly jumped backward. Sarah fell quickly after placing her feet on the two round carvings. Her shoes immediately hit the headboard of the sofa, nearly sending her falling backward. Maggie immediately turned to look at her when she heard a loud noise.

"Miss Beverley," Maggie called.

Maggie then placed her plate on the table and approached Sarah, while Sarah immediately turned and glared at her nanny. The two of them then faced each other, and Ash himself also got down and hid behind Sarah.

"Why are you here? Where did you come from?" Maggie asked in confusion.

"I'm here to help you... Maggie, I feel something is wrong, this place doesn't seem like a good place, you have to leave!" Sarah replied seriously.

"Where are you going?" Maggie asked briefly.

"Of course, to your hometown or our home, back to being my nanny," Sarah said quietly.

"I don't want to go there, Miss Beverley. Besides, Roxa told me that if I was found out, the other witches would erase my memory..." Maggie said quietly.

"But I can make you remember again!" Sarah replied loudly.

Maggie stepped back and looked up at the sky beside her.

"No, I won't come back until my past is all gone."

"You won't understand me, Miss Beverley! Because you're still a child, you still believe in adult fairy tales," Maggie said, touching her chest with her left hand.

"Why? Fairy tales are magical stories, and there are so many of them," Sarah answered Maggie.

"Technically so," Ash said, joining in defense.

Maggie then spoke in a calm tone, "But Roxa said that if I am a miracle, I deserve to finish my own story... That's when the world will be safe, Miss Beverley."

"But that story just sounded so wrong, so scary! Do you believe that horrible story?" Sarah asked in a long voice.

"I believe it like I believe my friend, because her story really... helped me get out of that orphanage," Maggie replied with a thin smile.

Ash then lowered his ears in fear, meanwhile Sarah remained adamant by stepping closer, she stepped one foot.

"I don't want you to do this, because you won't be able to come back," Sarah said seriously.

Maggie then shrugged her shoulders, "Precisely because I don't want to go back, Miss Beverley. One has to fight what has happened to one, that's what I've learned from my life," Maggie answered firmly.

Then Roxa suddenly appeared from the balcony while opening the wooden window that was nailed shut.

"Maggie, are you done eating?" Roxa asked happily.

At that moment, Roxa looked down and saw Sarah and Ash standing with Maggie.

"Who are they?" Roxa asked, shouting loudly.

"She's the child I used to babysit, Sarah," Maggie answered quietly.

"B-Beverley! I thought she died in Woolymoon Forest," Roxa said, frowning.

Sarah stepped back when she heard Roxa's words.

"He fell asleep and then I left him..." Maggie muttered.

Roxa then looked at Ash, "Or maybe... someone helped him without you knowing, Maggie!" she said in a heavy tone.

"Of course, because I helped him before he went with Maggie!" Ash replied seriously.

"... How smart," Roxa praised.

"You're De Vorag, you know. Why did you send Miss Haversham to Sarah's house!" Ash asked in a high tone.

"I didn't order him, I just gave him a tutorial on how to scare a witch child," Roxa replied in denial, "Because it just so happened that Sarah Beverley was on my work request list," he continued.

Ash was surprised to hear that, "Ash, what job request did he mean?" Sarah asked confused.

Ash, who was already scared, then pulled Sarah's hand, "Let's go!" Ash said seriously.

"Why are we going?" Sarah asked confused.

"Oh, don't go, sir. Even if I say that, it doesn't mean you're in danger!" Roxa said in a long voice.

"I just came to take Maggie away, that's all," Ash replied without looking up.

"Wait! Please don't take the girl away, there's still a possibility for negotiation-" Roxa shouted loudly.

Ash and Sarah continued walking, Ash's hand gripping Sarah tightly and pulling her towards the main room.

"Someone please stop them!" Roxa shouted in panic.

Then a 14-foot-tall horse arrived and blocked the main exit, occasionally exhaling. It stared at Sarah and Ash, making Sarah swallow hard.

*Hrrrh*

"Oh, who is this, a big horse I've never seen before," Ash said praising the horse.

The horse then gave a short grunt and walked slowly.

"Ash, I think he's a monster," Sarah said stunned.

Meanwhile the gnomes and trolls entered Maggie's room to see what was going on.

"Sarah, what do you think the name of the horse was during the Trojan War?" Ash asked nervously.

"How should I know! That horse doesn't have a name!" Sarah complained, her eyes wide.

"Oh yeah... then let's just call him the nameless boy," Ash replied casually.

The horse then snorted loudly in anger.

*NEEEIIIGHHH!*

"Run!"

The horse immediately ran off, nodding its head toward them. Ash and Sarah quickly sprinted past the manor's columns.
